Discover how the blood of Jesus, the power of God's Word, and your personal testimony work together to overcome the enemy and release victory in your life. Pastor Daniel teaches how our words carry spiritual authority, why sharing our faith matters, and how speaking God's promises can help us stand strong through every battle
Hi, this is Pastor Daniel Bracken. You're listening to Kings Alaska podcast. I hope the Word encourages you and you get a touch from God that brings transformation and equips you to experience life with people, power and purpose. Thank you for joining us. Enjoy the Word.
Good morning church family. So blessed to be with you today. By video, I have a powerful word for you starting a brand new series. Three or four messages we'll see called Prevail. Would you please stand up on your feet taking your Bibles, turning to the New Testament passage found in the book of Revelation, chapter 12, we'll read Revelation 12 starting from verse 10 in the New King James.
Stand once again if you're able to, and if not, stand up on the inside. Revelation 12, new King James, verse 10 through 12. Are you ready? Let's go. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven now, salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ have come for the accuser of our brethren who accused them before God day and night has been cast down.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Would you read verse 11 with me? Verse 11, it's on the screen right out loud and ready, set, go. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives to the death.
Amen. Verse 12. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them. But woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you having great wrath, because he knows he has a short time. Let's pray.
Gracious awesome. Mighty God, we thank you for what you're doing. We thank you for these that you've gathered from far and near and how you are touching the lives of countless people through this web stream and all of our platforms and all those that are here. Let your word break in with truth and light. Let your word run swiftly and the results of it be fantastic even unto eternity.
We thank and praise you in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Turn to your neighbor and say, I'm prevailing. I'm prevailing.
Go ahead, tell your other neighbor and say, hey, prevail. Prevail. Wonderful. You may be seated this morning. To prevail means to remain standing after have an attack after having an attack.
Overcoming every obstacle to prevail. To overcome every obstacle through God's power. To prevail is to ultimately walk in victory. God's plan for you is to walk in victory. God's plan for you is to be an overcomer.
That's the language that Jesus used. He said, be of good cheer. I overcome the world. We are those who prevail. We are those who overcome.
It is what God has purchased for us. It is an unbiblical thing to lose.
We've won. I've read the back of the book and if you would read it as well, you'll see even here they overcame him. Talking of the devil by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony, and loving their lives not so much as unto the death. I want to start this series from that verse. The word of their testimony.
Overcoming devil by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of your testimony. Now, before I get into this, in introduction, a word that Jane Hammond spoke in this house. Prophetess Jane Hammond, she said this in 2024, Alaska is an upper room for the nation and that this is an appointed time for Alaska. She said this quote, I'm going to visit you not just with revival, but with what history will call the great Alaskan Awakening. Nations will come to drink, winning a nation, and it's going to be filled with reformers.
God is raising up a people who know how to prevail. God is raising up a people who know how to overcome. It's a beautiful thing, a widespread movement of the Holy Spirit. An awakening. In conversations I had with a dear spiritual leader and elder Jim Laffoon, it talked about how spiritual warfare and other really basic foundational teachings aren't taught in the body of Christ anymore.
And as I was praying and seeking God about what next to bring to you in series starting this series called Prevail to teach you some principles on how to prevail, on how to overcome, on how to walk as a more than a conqueror, as Christ said. And so it brings us to this, this text. It's. It's quite fascinating in fact, the use of language, the use of scripture, Jesus use of scripture is a fascinating thing. For instance, Jesus said in Mark 12, verse 36, how David spoke by the Holy Spirit.
Listen to that again. How David spoke by the Holy Spirit. He had a clear understanding that God, that scripture was God breathed. He said in John 6 and 33, the Spirit gives life. The flesh counts for nothing.
Listen, Listen. The words I've spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Jesus saw his own words. Now, you might have been in church all your life, so you're kind of like, no kidding, pastor, but some perhaps are new here today. Jesus saw his words as God's words.
The words I'VE spoken to your spirit and they are life in Matthew, chapter five. Looking at how Jesus his view and his view of Scripture is fascinating. Matthew 5, you have heard that it was said that thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say to you, whoever looks upon a woman to lust in his heart has already committed it. I say to you, I say, Jesus says, I say to you, he's literally putting his word over the Old Testament.
And that's amazing. I've shared in previous times my experience living in a rabbi's home and going to synagogue. And I'll never forget seeing the Torah brought into the synagogue. It was. Was a very small synagogue there in a small town of, of Mammoth Lakes, California.
And people gathered and the Torah was brought in. When they brought it in, it was a very holy moment. They treated those scrolls like, like they should be treated, like God's Word. We can learn from them for certain about the holiness and the of God's Word. And so in the Word, Jesus defines this as overcomers.
All right, let's look at the text. Overcome. They overcame him, talking of Satan by the blood of the lamb. Now I've preached whole messages on the blood, and no doubt I will preach messages on the blood again. But I'm starting with this particular verse.
The second part is by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony. Everybody say the word of their testimony. Come on. The. The word.
Say it again. Ready, set, go. Word of their testimony. Wow. The word of their testimony.
Why the word of their testimony? Notice that a testimony can be without words. The way that you live is representative of what you believe. You are, not what you eat. Although it will affect you, you are what you believe.
And the life that you live out is a testimony no matter what you say. The way you live is modeled. Some people say the right things, but live differently. Your life is a testimony. In First Peter three, Peter's talking to wives of unbelieving husbands.
And he says that they can be won by the conduct, your holy conduct. I mean, that is truly amazing. So we see that number two in your notes. We see the importance of speech. James says, life and death are in the power of the tongue.
So literally, your speech can release life or death. Your speech can release life. It's like the rudder, James says, the rudder of a ship. You're a rudder turns a ship. Your tongue, your speech can turn your life and bring forth the turning in someone else's life.
How will they know unless they're sent? How will they know unless unless someone speaks forth, you Believe in your heart. You confess with your mouth unto salvation. Speech is important. Speech is important.
Romans 10 and 9. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it's with the heart one believes unto righteousness. It's with the mouth. Confession is made into salvation.
It's very important what you confess, what you speak. You need to speak God's word. You need to speak in the. In what? We're looking at your testimony.
Your testimony can be without words. But this is talking about using words. Why? Because the Word. Look at your notes.
The Word is weapon. The Word is a what? The Word is a weapon. All across this great sanctuary, all those online, say it with me. The Word is a weapon.
Ready, set, go. The Word is a weapon. The Word's a weapon. Hebrews 4 and 12. Well, the word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even of the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow.
And it is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. Now, when Jesus was tempted, what did he do? He didn't just sit there and smile, he spoke the Word. Interesting, in fact, that the devil spoke the Word to him. The devil knows the Word and he can twist the Word.
How did Jesus use his offense? In the wilderness 40 days, he's tempted to turn the rocks into bread. He uses the Word right back at the ugly one, at the, at the devil, at the father of lies. He. He uses the Word when he was tempted.
Satan says, you're hungry, turn these stones into bread. So hitting and tapping, self preservation. At the end of 40 days of fasting, the devil uses many times tried to use our needs. And, and food is a need. It's not a want, it's a need.
Tries to use those things to manipulate us and try to get us. Jesus overcomes by the Word. If you're living your life to meet your needs, you're going to miss the will of God. We don't live to meet our needs and wants. We live for the Lord.
We love him with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We live to seek first his kingdom. Writing the notes to word is truth and it exposes a lie. 2nd Corinthians 10:3 through 6. For the weapons of our warfare is not carnal, but mighty to God.
Through the pulling down of strongholds, the pulling down of strongholds, we have a weapon through God's Word. And when spoken, it's mighty to tear down strongholds. Mindsets, ways of thinking. Every high and lofty thought that's raised up against the knowledge of God. So the Word is truth and it exposes a lie.
The Word is power release. Say that with me. The Word is what? Power. Power released.
Writing your notes. Power released. Mark 11:22. So Jesus answered it and said, have faith in God, for assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Whoever what says to the mountain, be removed and cast into the sea. And does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done.
He will have whatever he says. Do you see that? It's three times. Whoever says to this mountain, speak to the mountain. Whoever says there's a.
There's a power in speech. The Word is power released. You speak to mountains, they move. Sickness, go. Disease, go.
Cancer, go. By the authority of the name of Jesus. Depression, go. Come on, try that with me. Depression, go.
In Jesus name there's authority. You study the life of Christ. You'll see him give commands over sicknesses and disease. He commands deep devils to flee. He speaks it forth.
The gospel is God's power being released.
Romans 1 and 16. For I'm not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is a power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. For the Jew first, and also for the Greek, we've taught you on binding and loosing. We've taught you about proclamation. The proclamation of the Gospel is absolutely powerful and important and crucial.
When you're declaring Jesus Christ crucified, resurrected from the dead, it releases power. The prophetic word in Revelation 19, the prophetic word 19:10, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. In First Timothy 1:18 it reads, Timothy my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight. Well, how do you fight the good fight? He has a prophetic word.
He declares it. He moves forward. In declaring the word. He's fighting a good fight. He's prevailing.
Come on, lift a hand to heaven and say, I'm going to prevail. I am going to prevail. I'm going to win. I'm going to overcome. That's who we are.
And there's systems that God gives of how to prevail, how to overcome, how to win. Come on, how many want a W? I do. I already have it. And I'm going to stay in the W column.
That's God's plan, is to prevail, to win. And these are principles on how to do it, your personal testimony is a weapon. So what? It's a weapon. What is my testimony?
It's your story of what God has done for you. You say, well, I, I, I. This is my first time here. I'm not even sure what you're talking about. Well, I'm glad you're here.
You could have gone anywhere this morning, but you chose to come here. And I'm so sorry. I'm here by video. We'll be back next week. And this is a powerful word, so just lean in like I'm here in person.
There is a testimony, and the testimony is your story of what God has done for you. Raise your hand if God has done great things for you. Oh, my goodness. He's done so many things for us as a congregation, so many things for us personally. It's our story.
He delivered me. He set me free. I was broken. I was lost. And he reached across and snatched me like a stick from the fire.
I've been saved. I've been delivered. I've been set free from the yoke of the oppressor. I, I prevail. I, I win.
I'm more conqueror through Christ. It's your testimony, and your testimony is crucial. It's a weapon. Come on, somebody say I'm weaponized. Yes, you are.
You're weaponized. It's remembering what God has done builds faith. If you'll think back about what God has done in your life, it builds faith to face the challenges that are yet ahead. And again, if you're here and you really don't have a lot of history in God, stick around and you'll begin to have a story also of God's power. Deliverance, provision, healing, breakthrough.
It's what God does for his people. It's remembering. Remember how he brought you through. Remember how he delivered you, how he saved you, how he healed you. And in sharing your testimony, your personal testimony, you're really like a megaphone declaring God's goodness.
I'm so thankful for what God is doing. In the King's Christian school, we have a fire drill. That school's out for the summer. Whoop, whoop, whoop. Hey.
School's out for the summer. But we had a monthly fire drill that we're, we are mandated to do in our, to bring about in our, in our school, every month there's a fire drill. And on that fire drill, Headmaster Susie has that bullhorn and she puts that up. Thank you very much, children, children. And she gives orders and instructions.
When you share your testimony, it's like a Megaphone. It's declaring what God is doing. It has power even to destroy the works of the devil. As this. As this section says here in Revelation, your testimony condemns the enemy and a court of law.
Your testimony condemns the enemy in a court of law. Whoa. How many of you have been sharing your test? But don't raise your hand. It's important to share your story.
It's a megaphone. It condemns the devil. It's one of the keys of how to prevail. Blood of the Lamb. The word of your testament.
Live it for sure. Live your. Live it out loud. But by all means, say it. You must say it.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Says the scripture. It's important to say so. Why are you so happy? Jesus set me free.
And you don't have to be like a religious nutjob. Just be you. Be supernaturally natural. Be you. Share your testimony because your testimony condemns the enemy in a court of law.
All right. How do we overcome? How do we prevail? By the word of our testimony. The first thing I want to say is read no and memorize the word.
Read no and memorize the word. When you share your testimony, let me encourage you to do it this way. Now there's like you can practice. You said, have you practiced sharing your testimony? Many, many years ago.
I have a three minute. I have a 30 second testimony. A three minute testimony. I have a 10 minute testimony. Always have scripture.
Always share God's word. Say with me. Always share God's word. Why? Because it's powerful.
It has power. So when you share God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe on him would not perish, but have everlasting life. When you share his wor, it's like releasing the sword. It goes right into people's heart. It's more powerful than you just sharing your own version of what that means.
Share scripture. Read the word, know the word, memorize the word. Listen to this Psalm 1. Psalm 1. Blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor.
Nor standeth his King James in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is on the law of the Lord. And in his law he doth meditate day and night, meditating on God's word. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth his fruit in season. His leaf shall also not wither.
And whatsoever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but they're like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor the sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. There is a very clear power and righteousness released when you know God and know his Word and you share his Word.
It's crucial. The second thing on how to how to prevail is to speak to your mountains. Speak to your mountain. Speak to the things that are blocking you. Speak to the conditions that are in your life.
I talk to myself all the time. Just what David did. That's what the psalmist did. The psalmist says, oh, so many are round about me. And he says, oh, why so downcast, O my soul?
David talking to himself, why are you depressed? Put your hope in God. He's talking to himself. Listen. Healthy Christians talk to themselves.
You can speak to your spirit. You can speak to mountains. You can speak to situations and circumstances, even when it's in your. Within your own being, in your own soul. I've laid hands on myself and said in Jesus name, line up with God.
Stop that bad attitude. It'll help you. You speak four things. You speak to mountains. You speak to house.
Come, release a house to me. Release a job in Jesus name. You can pray forth things in your life and see them come to pass. You can speak to mountains. Mountain, move.
Say that with me. Mountain, move. You know, I had you say it over all the years. It comes from the book of Zechariah. And we would say it over and over.
What are you, old mountain? Before Zerubbabel, you will become a level plane and the capstone will be set. That comes from the book of Zechariah about rebuilding the temple. We took that scripture and applied it to this place and said that the mountain of obstacles that will keep us from moving into this building be removed. We will finish this project and we will move in with shouts of grace.
Grace to it. That that comes from the text of Zechariah. That has power. Mountain, move. It's going to be finished.
It's going to be done. You need to speak that in your marriage, Speak it over your children, speak it over your job, speak it over your business. It's so important. The power of speech, the power of the word, the power of speaking to mountains. Share your faith in Christ with others.
You know I do it all the time. I witness all the time. I can't help myself. Why is that? Because he's just touched me and saved me and he delivered me and I. I just got a big fat mouth for God.
I, I talk about him all the time. He's my best friend. I want to tell people about him. I mean, can you imagine if you won the lottery or got gazillions of dollars, what would be your response? He'd be like, you'd be pretty happy.
And he'd be like, oh, yeah. And hopefully you'd tithe right away. Come on, say amen. Hope you, like, give and do things, but there'd be a great change in your life and you might even tell people. And again, you might not.
Because a lot of people come and try to take advantage of people that ponder. Come across a great increase. But it'll change your life. When you receive Jesus, he changes your life. And if you haven't done that, we're going to give you an opportunity here in a moment.
I led a young lad to the Lord just recently, and he was telling me how he wanted to draw close to God. But in his upbringing in a main denominational church, they really don't preach the gospel, although they believe it. It's just not really clearly declared. It's very liturgical. They have a pattern and there's repetition in the prayers that they pray and things that they do.
It's hard almost to hear, even though the, the Nicene Creed is declared there. In the Nicene Creed. You can, you can hear the Gospel in the Nicene Creed if you listen closely. We try to make it very plain, but in some places it's not plain. So in talking to this young lad, he wants to draw close to God.
I shared with him my testimony and I spoke to him about the good news of Jesus, that you believe in your heart and you confess with your mouth and you shall be saved. And the boy got born again. He would not have been born again had I, oh God, I probably led somebody else along the way. But who knows what would happen? Who knows what's going to happen in people's lives.
I've witnessed and shared and preached, and the next day or two had people die. You don't know when your life is over. Man has given what one life to live and after that the judgment. That's why it's so important for us to share our faith. It's how we prevail, it's how we overcome.
And furthermore, it's how other people are going to get a hold of the truth that you got so that they can also prevail so that they can also walk in victory, so that they can also overcome. I mean, how would it be to not share the greatest message? And yet if I took a survey, so many don't share their testimony. I'm not here to condemn you. I am here to convict you though.
Share your testimony. It has power and it changes lives. I'm challenging you. Begin to invite people like you never have before. Begin to share your faith like never before.
Use social media not to gossip and just like a bunch of random things, use social media to share, to testify to, to share your faith, to be a witness. Another thing I see here and how to prevail is claim God's promises. There are promises in God's Word and those promises are the basis by which we pray. Faith, confident, assurance of what God declares. Faith is obeying God's word.
Well, if you don't know the promise, it's going to be hard to see it. It's going to be hard for you to stand on it and see it manifested in your life. There's promises for healing. There's promises for provision. There's promises for deliverance.
There's promises for salvation. There's promises for you, for me. Where to use those and to speak them forward and to declare the claim God's promise. Share your personal testimony right in your notes of what God has done for you. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of the of their testimony.
By the word of their testimony. I'm challenging you at the start of this new series. Prevail to use your testimony. Share your story. Learn how to do it.
Use scripture when you share your story and when you testify. When you declare what God has done for you. Don't. Don't major on your old life and how horrible it was and how miserable. Let that be an accent.
And then major on your new life in God and how God has given you joy and God has given you peace and everything's different now. Major on that. Share scripture so that people can, can hear the word and respond. And don't be afraid of taking someone's hand and leading them to Jesus. I'm going to do that in just a moment.
You could play this back on YouTube or on Facebook and memorize it. It's quite simple. It's the salvation prayer. It's really just a, a, an equation, if you will, a system by which we lead people in repentance. It's not magic.
You don't pray some prayer and then poof, everything's great. It's repentance. I've had people prayed the sinner's prayer dozens of times and say this to me, Pastor, I prayed that prayer. Ain't nothing happened to me. I know.
And the reason nothing happened to you is because you didn't repent. Repent means to change the way you think. You've got to change your behavior. It has to be real. There's sorrow.
Godly sorrow. Repentance, Real godly sorrow brings transformation. Worldly sorrow doesn't change anything. Brings death, the Bible says. But godly sorrow brings a transformation with every head bowed and every eye closed.
All across this place this morning. If you're not right with God, you need to give your life to Jesus. The Bible says to as many as believed in him, he gave them the right to become children of God. You become his child by receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You become a child of God by believing that he died on a cross, believing that he rose again from the grave and he died in your place.
And so he. He takes your place and you identify. You realize that he took your place. It's a substitutionary death. And you acknowledge that and say, oh, my gosh.
I realized I. I caused your crucifixion. I caused. Used to be that old song that I. The. The Hammers in My Hand.
It was about a Roman soldier, how he crucified Christ and. And he discovered I'm the one that did it. Yeah, he. He did it. And he did it through his own sin.
We've all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But the gift. The what? The gift. I can't hear you.
The what? The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. So you must receive Him. And if you've not done that, then you're very possibly not born again. You very possibly not have your sins forgiven.
Let me say it this way. If you can't remember when you gave your life to Christ and then your life changed, you probably haven't. You said, but I've been coming to church here for years. I'm so glad. But if you don't have a changed life, then you have to take a look at what's happening.
Maybe you haven't truly repented. You want to give your heart to Jesus for the first time. Or number two, you want to recommit your life to the Lord all across this place. If that's you, I want you to pray this prayer with me right out loud. Come on.
Just pray this prayer. There'll be hundreds of others Praying with you right out loud. You believe in your heart, you're going to confess with your mouth now that Jesus Christ was crucified and risen again from the grave, Would you pray with me? Repeat after me, right out loud. Right out loud.
Say, dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son Jesus to die on a cross for my sin. I believe he rose again from the grave. And I ask you today to forgive me, to wash me, to cleanse me, to make me new. Write my name in your book in heaven. Thank you for loving me and thank you for hearing my prayer.
Amen. Would you, as a universal sign of surrender, just lift a hand to heaven and I'll pray for you, Father, with hands raised, all across this great sanctuary, all those online, all of our churches in India, all of our churches in the Philippines, wherever you are, all around this world, on all of our platforms and again in this great sanctuary, from the front to the back, to the left, to the right, I pray. Holy Spirit, let your fire come. Let your power and your anointing come upon your people. Break every chain, break every bondage.
Fill them full of heaven right now. Baptize them in the spirit and use them. Come on, ask God to use you. Use us, Lord, to share our faith to prevail. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
And they love their lives not so much as unto the death. I pray. Help us, God, to speak forth our story to our friends and all of our contacts on our phone, on social media, and people that we come in contact with in cars, in Fred Meyers, Lord, at Walmart, Lord at Costco, wherever we may be this week, that we would be bold, put a boldness on the inside of this congregation to share. Because in sharing and testifying the word of our testimony, it breaks the power of darkness. And even as Jesus sent out those in the.
In the book of Luke, chapter 10, and when they returned, having testified and laid hands on the sick, they came to Jesus. And he was rejoicing. And Jesus said, I saw Satan fall like lightning. I pray. Such a move of people testifying, such a stirring of the word being spoken, that the powers of darkness would be diminished in this region and there would be a great awakening.
Even as Jane Hammond prophesied that this would be the great Alaskan Awakening. Do it this summer. Do it, God, even this week. Use us, Lord, to reach the hurting, the broken, the lost, the lame, the rich, the poor, and every single one for the glory of God. Shout amen across this place.
Amen. Come on, shout. Amen. Hallelujah. God is good.
Put your hands together for Jesus. Glory to God. Glory. So glad you came to church. Now let me say this to you before I close.
Don't miss. Tonight is going to be a powerful service and our dear brother Jesse Duplantis had to cancel. He will not be with us tonight because they've had a death in the family and he's just not able to make it. He'll be coming up as soon as he has time in his schedule. So I'm so sorry if you've planned for that.
