Turning Hearts Before the King Comes

Chapter four. Malachi, Chapter four is the last Old Testament book.

And we're going to read just two verses of scripture, verse 5 and 6, Malachi, chapter 4, verse 5 and 6, and the new King James. If you're ready, say Amen. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet for the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. He will turn. He will what?

He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers. Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. Gracious, awesome, mighty God, move in power. Thank you for what you did in the first service. Now what you'll do in the second, may we be forever changed in Jesus name.

Amen. Turn to somebody and say, he's turning the hearts. Come on. Turn to somebody else and say, he's turning the hearts. Yeah, he's doing it.

He's doing it. You may be seated.

The other night I was with Perry Stone at Trinity Christian center in Soldotna, and he began to tell a story that impacted me so profoundly that I wound up in the altar weeping, being touched by God and faith, being released for a miracle in my life. And I want to tell you about that, because this is what God is doing all around the world. All around the world. This is what he's doing. He's turning hearts.

Everybody say, turning hearts. That's what he does. That's why we're here. That's why we do what we do. We're here to turn hearts from darkness, from the power of Satan to the power of God.

As he spoke to the Apostle Paul, so he shared a testimony. And how many of you been in the series that I. That I really just completed it. It's called Prevail. It was in Revelation Ch.

12 and verse 11. They overcome came him talking of Satan. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony and love their lives not so much as to shrink from death. This series was powerful. And so the testimony that I share with you is.

Is real. It happened in time. It's not made up. It's not for illustration purposes. Happened at a town I believe in Tennessee.

And I can't remember the name of the town. I'd have to go back and listen to the message. But when you hear a testimony like this, it releases faith. A testimony releases power. For if God did it for somebody else, he can do it for.

For you. Come on, someone say he can do it for me.

Evangelist came to a church, preached series of services. And in one of the services, he's prophesying, not unlike what happens here, prophesied over this preacher, precious lady. And the prophecy was, your son is coming back tonight. Everybody say, tonight, tonight. Well, the pastor cringed because the son ran away from home three and a half years before.

Your son is coming back tonight. So if you had a child, and you may have, that is, if you've not spoken to you, you don't know where they are, and you hear a word that he's coming back tonight. I mean, that's. Is that metaphorical? Is that actual?

Well, how does it hit your heart? He's talking about the rhema word of God. And how when God speaks to you, releases power. And if you'll just take hold of it and believe it, then miracles are released. Faith is acting on God's word.

She had a word from God, from this evangelist who prophesied over. She believed it to be true. So here's what she did. She said, pastor, after this service, she said, I'm not leaving. I'm gonna be here all night.

I'm gonna pray here. Can I pray here all night? Well, what was he gonna say? Come on Sunday coming. Three and a half?

Come on. No. He's like, yes, like every good pastor would do. So she stayed and she prayed that night. Now, he felt obligated to pray with her, but he couldn't pray alone.

So the guest evangelist said, but I'm gonna pray with you. We'll all pray. So all three of them are piled up at the house, at the church, prayer, praying all night. Son had not been home for three and a half years. 200 miles away is this young man who had run away from home.

And somehow he got in his heart that night that if he didn't come home and see his mom, see his dad, that he might die or something he just couldn't get away from. I've got to go home. I've got to go home. I've got to go home. They're praying 200 miles away.

So he gets his bag and he gets out on the road and he sticks his thumb out. It's called hitchhiking. Highly advise that you don't do that now.

And this man with a cowboy hat and a big Eldorado Cadillac pulls over. And so the boy comes to the window. And the man says, son, where are you going? He said, I'm going home. Name the name of the town.

He said, well, I'm not going that way. I'm going the other way. I'm. And the boy begins to cry. He's weeping.

And he tells the man in the car, he says, I don't know, I'm telling you, but I ran away from home. And if I don't get home and see my mother and my dad, if I don't get home, I don't know what's going to happen. And the man said, son, get in the car. I'm taking you home. Told him he had run away three and a half years ago.

The kid gets in the car and the father takes him. I mean, this man in the El Dorado Cadillac takes him all the way back to his hometown. As he's driving through the hometown, they pass the church that was his family church. And he sees the lights on in the sanctuary and he says to the man, pull over. I think I got to go in there.

It's three something in the morning. They're pacing back and forth, and in walks the boy who ran away three and a half years later, fulfilling the prophetic word that God would bring home this boy before daylight. I think is what it was, what God is doing all over America or things like that. There is a supernatural release of what I want to call the spirit of Elijah that's coming upon a generation which. What did the.

It's not the actual spirit of Elijah. Elijah was brought up in a whirlwind. If you go and look at Second Kings, we know that. We know that he didn't die.

This text here, the Old Testament, last verses of the Old Testament prophesy that God is going to send the spirit of Elijah before the end, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. Great for those of us that know the Lord. Great, dreadful for those who don't. On that day, many will. Every knee will bow.

On that day, every knee will bow. And some knees will bow, will be bowed in agony and torment and hatred, and others in adoration, longing for his appearing. I'm gonna be the one, One of the ones that long for his appearing. Can someone say amen? And so you see all across America, God pouring out his spirit.

And this is one story of thousands upon thousands. I remember pastoring in Kauai number of years ago. I was brand new there. I took over from Phil Morocco, Dr. James Morocco's brother. And something that I was taught to do when you first take over a church is you go visit every single person that ever went to that church.

You go and you visit all the people that got offended and they left. You go and you go and visit everybody you can. You go and visit them and you say, hi, we're the new pastors, and we just want to pray for you and bless you. So I went to this house, and I knock on the door. I've told the story dozens of times before, and this precious lady answered the door, and I said, hi, my name is Pastor Daniel.

I'm the new pastor of the church. And they said, oh, we heard there's a new pastor. I said, yes, I'm. I'm the new pastor. Is there any way I can pray for you?

The lady explodes in tears. Her husband soon appears at the door with her weeping, hot tears running down her face. Yes, you can pray for our daughter. She's on drugs, and we haven't seen her for years. It's God is my witness.

What happened is that when she shared that, my heart broke in half and I began to pray. And they invited me in, and I don't know what happened, but I ended up standing on. On one of those chairs. And it wasn't the kind of chair that you'd want to stand on. It's the kind that was covered with plastic.

Anybody know what I'm talking about? It's like, you know at grandma's house where it's covered with plastic, so no matter what you spill on it, the fabric's not going to get stained. Well, I'm standing on one of those, and I found myself prophesying, she's going to call by the end of the week. Your daughter's coming home within the month. And after I said it, I was like, oh, my God, what have I said?

I mean, I didn't say that out loud, but I thought, lord, seriously. She said, oh, God, thank you. He's like, thank you. But like, all right. Praise the Lord.

End of the week, home of the month. I walk out. I'm like, oh, God, what do they say? New pastor. Lord, I want to be labeled a false prophet.

God help me now. Help me. That whole week, man. Boy, did I pray. I'm like, let her call.

Let her call Jesus name. She's going to call. She's picking up the phone. I can see her picking up the phone. I mean, I'm prophesying and declaring.

I'd call every day. Hey, how's it going? It's Pastor Daniel. I said, have you heard? No, no, we haven't heard anything.

Well, six days after I prophesied that within the week, the daughter called.

Within four weeks, it's actually three weeks. She was home, she came to church, she gave her heart to Jesus. She got baptized in the Spirit, filled with the Spirit and was radically transformed. A part of the church for, I want to say, maybe three or four months, and then went back to where she had come from on the island of Oahu. God got a part of a church, met a young man, got married, and last I heard, they're in ministry, pastoring today.

How could God do that? How is that possible? I'm telling you, it is a prophetic word from Malachi. We're going to look at it now. It's a prophetic word that God is turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers.

That is what he's doing, lest he strike the earth with a curse. This is Father's Day, one of the greatest revivals, Modern day revival took place On Father's Day, 1995, Brownsville, Pensacola, Florida. Raise your hand if you heard of it. Millions of people were touched by what God did there. It is my hope this morning as I preach to you that it would quicken you and it would burn faith and not only the hearts of fathers, but mothers and brothers and sisters.

And it would awaken you to the reality, the day in which we live. God is pouring out his spirit. The Spirit of Elijah is upon us. And I'll define that. It is a great hour to be alive.

I should also say that when I heard that testimony that took place in Tennessee, my heart swelled with hope because I have two daughters. Some of you know, some of you don't. Two daughters that are nearing 40 years old now. And I have no contact with them at all. I've been blocked on all social media and it's because of the way that I was when I was 21, 22 and 23.

I was a wicked man. That was a long time ago. And God has radically changed me. Amen. Can you say Amen?

Yet the sting of that and the vow that they made remains. But I believe maybe they'll even hear this message. And I believe that God is bringing a restoration. For my heart is certainly turned towards them and I believe their heart is turned towards me. But it's not just me and my family.

It's you and yours. Come on, put your hands together for Jesus and say Amen.

Understanding the context of Malachi here. Throughout the book, God uses the prophet Malachi to Confront God's people. They were corrupt priests. They dishonored his name. You see that in Malachi 1 and chapter 2.

Men were abandoning their covenant relationships with their, their wives. They were abandoning and breaking covenant. People were questioning God's justice in chapter two. A nation robbed God of tithes and offerings in chapter three. And there's this growing spiritual apathy and cynicism in chapter three through 13 through 15.

And what he says is he's, he's desiring for God to turn the nation back to him. That is what God is doing in America. He's bring a nation back to God and that's what he's doing all across the nations of the world. He's causing people to turn towards the Lord. Hearts to fathers.

Fathers. Hearts. Hearts of fathers to children. Children to fathers. Malachi closes looking at these two future events.

The coming of the Lord. Malachi 3:1, Malachi 4, verse 1 through 3 point to the coming of the Messiah. It's called the day of the Lord. What's it called? The day of day of the Lord.

There's coming a day when no man knows the time. But we can see the signs. Where you say, read in the morning, sailor take warning, red at night, sailors delight. You can see the signs. In the heavens.

You can see signs. We're closer than when we first believe. Jesus is coming back. Come on. Jesus is coming back.

It's called the imminent return of Christ. That is part of our, our doctrine. We believe that he's coming back because the scriptures tell us and God promises that he's going to intervene in history, bringing salvation and judgment. It's a return of the Lord. He's going to intervene.

He's going to set the record straight. Did anybody see that report on Fauci? Dude, that irritated me. Am I the only one?

You better repent. You better repent before the end comes.

The day will come. Behold ice. Before the day arrives. Before that day, Malachi 4 or 5, I will send you Elijah the prophet.

Now, Jews understood this literally, that Elijah didn't die. He was taken away. As I mentioned a little bit earlier, he was taken away. So they expect him to just appear and he does.

This is a prophecy that is multi dimensional. There's, there's many different aspects of this prophecy that I read to you. The first release and fulfillment of it takes place in Luke chapter one. Turn with me to the book of Luke, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Luke chapter one. So we understand the fulfillment of this prophecy according to the angel expressed in Luke 1 to Zechariah.

Luke, chapter 1. Are you all there? Look at verse 13.

So, Zechariah, a priest. He doesn't have any children, but he's serving in his division. The hour of incense at the hour of prayer. Verse 11. Look at verse 11.

Luke 1 and 11.

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And Zachariah saw him and was troubled, which is what happens if you see an angel. Fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard. And your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and she'll call his name.

What's his name? John. And you'll have great joy and gladness, for many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord, which. I have to pause now. He's talking about John the Baptist.

This is a prophetic word. So in Malachi, chapter four, it's a prophetic word of the messenger that would come. There's a messenger with the spirit of Elijah. Elijah's still alive. It's not his actual spirit, but that which Elijah did, the messenger would do.

But it goes beyond that, actually referring even to, if we can get to it in time, Revelation, chapter 11. And the two witnesses in the tribulation for three and a half years. One of them, scholars believe, is Elijah, but that's actually Elijah. And the other one is Moses. Whoa.

So in Luke, chapter one, we'll be great in the sight of the Lord. Talking of John the Baptist, this is the first fulfillment. Great in the sight of the Lord. Now think about. Come on, think.

Think about. Great in the sight of the Lord. I want to be great in the sight of the Lord. Come on, say that. I want to be great.

Okay, well. Great in the sight of the Lord. According to John the Baptist is a loincloth, locusts and honey.

And you're wandering around in the desert. That's great in the sight of the Lord. How the appearance of it. Yet he turned the hearts. He brought repentance, the spirit of Elijah, the very thing Elijah did is what John the Baptist did.

Expose corruption, called out hypocrisy. That's what Elijah did. That's what John the Baptist did. And he was the forerunner for Jesus.

Great in the sight of the Lord is very different than what people think greatness is today. Great in the sight of the Lord has nothing to do with fame. It has nothing to do with money. It has nothing to do with influence. It has everything to do with doing What God says you could do, having what God says you could have, being who God says you could be.

Great in the sight of the Lord is. Is his heart responses towards God. That's what greatness is. It's obeying him. It's obeying has nothing to do with the paneled house.

Dude didn't have a house loincloth. Can you imagine meeting him? It wouldn't be. It would be sort of terrifying. John, you've got something in your teeth.

Oh yeah. It's a locust legend.

Wow.

He shall neither drink strong wine or strong drink. I think that's a good reason. One of hundreds of why you should do the same is also filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. Look at verse 16. Underline it in your Bible.

He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. Which is the greater meaning? Whenever I'm witnessing and sharing my faith with people, I almost never talk about the Father. The Father, God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. I avoid the term Father.

Do you know why? Say no. Why? Why? Because most people have father wounds.

And the second I bring up the Father, the Heavenly Father, it just brings a wall for people. So I like 90% of the time, all right, 75% of the time, that's what happens is instantly a roadblock because their father was a jerk. Their father abandoned them. Their father was not representative of the Heavenly Father. I mean, it's a.

It's a sad thing. It's sad. Thank God for the exceptions. Can I get an amen? The sending of the Spirit of Elijah is.

Is profound. Again expressed here in John the Baptist. Why? Why fathers and children. There would be a restoration of family.

That's what God's doing today. Why? Because he's coming.

He's coming. My dear friend, Pastor Dodson Imakita, who is really an apostolic leader in the Marshallese people. The Marshallese are about 60,000 people worldwide. God has touched him and he's birthed approximately 100 churches. Thousands of people have come to Christ.

Marshallese people all across America. In the Marshall Islands, he was visited by the Lord and the Lord told him he's coming soon. And when he told me he said God's coming soon. We both just said, oh my. Oh my goodness.

He's certainly sooner than when we first believed. So before the coming of the Lord, there's a great restoration of fathers to children, children to fathers. The Spirit of Elijah does that turns hearts restoration of general of generational transference of truth. If you look In Genesis chapter 19 the context is Abraham is, is there and the, the angels are there, even the angel of the Lord and they're about to go deal with Sodom. They're about to go visit Sodom to see if the outcry is everything that they heard.

And you know the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Sodom and Gomorrah become ashes. They're about to go down there and they have a conversation and we the hearers listening as we read rather we read Gen. Genesis 19. The angels say should we tell Abraham's like right there. Should we tell Abraham what we're about to do because he's got to direct his children and his children after him so that the promise comes about.

I'm going to go there since you don't have notes and I only have a few. Go to Genesis on this Father's day. Genesis chapter 19.

Blessed be God, blessed be his holy name. Come on, someone say he's turning the hearts. He's turning the hearts. He's even turning yours. Pardon me.

Genesis 18.

Genesis 18, verse 19. I knew 19 was in there somewhere.

Genesis 18, verse 19. It is one of my favorite all time favorite scriptures. It should be underlined. For I've known him. This is the angel talking.

For I've known him. Who? Abraham. In order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they would keep the way of the Lord to do righteousness and justice that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has spoken to him. Wow.

I've known him. Just let me break it down. So the angel says we have known Abraham for the purpose that he would command. Command his children. The same is true for you and me.

That God knows us. Why? So that we could command and teach our children. I was at the gym not long ago. I wasn't in the sauna, which is sort of miraculous.

I was actually out on the, I was out on the field. I was was in the gym and I was witnessing to somebody and he was telling me, as I was telling him about the Lord. He was saying oh yeah, I love Jesus. I'm like oh that's awesome. I said where do you go?

Your odd. I'll go. I said, sweet, you need to come to mine. I invited. Which one?

The one on the hill. Oh yeah, I've seen that. Like awesome. Yeah, come great children. You got children, you have children, you bring your kids.

Great children's ministry come. I invited them. He said yeah. No, no, no. I said, well it's good for your kids, you know you to bring he says, no, I'm not.

I'm not teaching my kids that. And I said, what? He said, yeah, no, I'm just, I'm just going to let them choose. And I wasn't very pastoral, but I said, oh, that's not smart. Instant conflict.

Said that that's a mistake. And he's like, oh yeah. I'm like, oh yeah. And then I said, oh, sorry, that's a little intense. Sorry.

But it's true. Because there's evil and you must teach your kids. And the promise is generational. See this? Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, there's a generational blessing that's passed on.

And so when you see this promise to Abraham, he had to teach that to his kids because it wasn't just going to be in his lifetime. Malachi is so powerful. Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers as a generational blessing. Spiritual fatherhood. Not just biological fathers, spiritual fathers.

It's the final message of The Old Testament. 400 years of silence. And God fulfills it through John the Baptist, fulfills it by sending a messenger. The hearts will be turned and families will be restored. People would be prepared.

Years ago I was, I was in high school. And now as a part of the thespian club. How many of you know what that is? It's a drama. Drama club.

And a Broadway show had come out. I think it was called Jesus of Nazareth. And I was chosen as one of the disciples. I was irritated that I didn't get the part for Jesus, but some other guy could sing better than me. So whatever, I was glad to be one of the disciples.

I will never forget singing on that platform in front of my family. Some of my family that came at that school, that I went to, a boarding school, an all boys boarding school. Well, I got stories.

Auditorium was filled. And I will never forget singing that song, Prepare ye the way of the Lord. Prepare. Anybody know that song? The Way of the Lord.

And as I was singing it with all my heart, I could feel God's power on me. And I didn't even know the Lord. And I just felt like, man, something's coming in my lifetime. Something's coming in your lifetime. It's called the eminent return of Christ.

And it's so important on this Father's Day to understand what he's doing in your life, what he's doing in your family, what he's doing in the nation, what he's doing in the nations of the world. It is causing our hearts as fathers to turn towards our children. And our children towards. And children's hearts towards their fathers and mothers are included too. Come on.

All the mamas say, you know that's right.

God speaking to us.

The Hebrew word for turn is shuv. Shuv. Transliterated it means to return, to restore, to repent, to come back to the place for one from. From the. From where one has wandered.

The message of Elijah to the generation, the prophets of baal. You know, the greatest miracle of Elijah is not that fire fell. How many did. He did seven major miracles. Elisha had a double portion.

Guess how many did 7 times 2. 14. You got it right. He did 14. Major Barrett double portion.

Let me say the greatest miracles Elijah of Elijah was that fire fell on Mount Carmel. I would disagree. Fire fell. It's a great miracle. But what was for the miracle?

Why? Why? Why the miracle? So that they would put their hope in God. So that they would turn.

That they would turn. And a nation began to turn to God. That is what God is doing. He did it through. Through Elijah.

He did it through John the Baptist, with the spirit of Elijah, the messenger of Malachi 4. And that's what he does through us, through us, the church. That's what he wants to do through you. He wants us to turn. That's what happened first Kings 18, verse 37.

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, says Elijah, that the people may know. That they may know. I didn't say this in the first service. I'll say it now. Hebrew word for no is yada.

It's a deep understanding. It's profound understanding. It's revelation that God gives. He gives you a knowing. I don't know that I understand that, Pastor.

Let me. Let me make it plain. I played football. Peewee league. I don't know.

10th grade, 10th, 10 years old, I started playing football. Played football in the peewee leagues, Pop Warner leagues. And then I played in middle school, played. I played in high school. I had a good football career in high school.

And I remember graduating high school and talking about football and went to Fordham University for a season in the Bronx, New York. And I remember hearing about the football, football team there. And I remember this guy saying, it's different than high school, bro. I'm like, oh, yeah. Like, yeah, they hit way harder in college.

I'm like, yeah, well, I think I hit harder in a. I mean, whatever. So they. How hard could it be? Well, after I got freight trained by a. A mutant, I think Goliath was across the top of his helmet.

I don't know. And I have no air Lying on my back, trying to fish the mouthpiece out of the back of my throat.

I got it out like I realized I knew I had a yada of how hard they hit in college. It's very different when you know God. When you experience God, when you, you see his power, you see his healing, you receive revelation, it changes you. And the, and the, the prophet says that they may know you.

Miracles, signs and wonders are absolutely alive and well as an aspect of the Spirit of Elijah, as an aspect of the kingdom. I said it when we were praying for people. These signs will follow them that believe. Raise your hand if you're a believer. They follow, follow them that believe.

They'll, they'll lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. There are signs and wonders and miracles. The Apostle Paul said, I've not come with the eloquence of man or the wisdom of man, but the power and the demonstration of the Spirit.

The greatest miracle was in fire falling. The greatest miracle is the same. The greatest miracle today. It's not about seeing people healed and set free. Yes, but why would God do that?

So that you would know that He's a king of kings. So that you would know that he has power. So that you would know that he's the way, the truth and the life. So that you would know experientially in a very real way. Why?

So your heart would turn. The ultimate miracle of Elijah is the turning of a nation towards God.

And it does not happen without fire.

Come on, somebody say, send the fire.

That they may know that you are the Lord God. First Kings 18:37 and that you have turned their hearts back to you again.

That's the real victory of Elijah. And the Spirit of Elijah is what God is doing in the nation. It's more than just natural families. It's more than your children. Raise your hand if you have kids.

All right. I think the righteous ought to have large families because the unrighteous are trying to populate the earth. I think the righteous ought to have a lot of kids.

It's more than just natural families. The Apostle Paul said to Timothy in first Timothy 1 and 2, my true son in the faith. You know, I'm so grateful for my dad who's a marine and a lawyer. He was not a man of God like I would define a man of God today, but he was God fearing Catholic, brought us to, brought us to church, brought us to mass on the regular basis. And while I grew up, I was resentful.

Certainly when my family went through divorce, I was Filled with resentment and anger at my father, especially more than my mother. And it put a hatred in me. And the enemy really tried to cultivate that. I said this just recently. Hallmark did a.

A wonderful thing and sending all of these 18 wheelers to prisons all across America many years ago on Mother's Day, and they gave free Mother's Day cards to all the prisoners who wanted to send Mother's Day cards to mom. And they didn't have enough cards. Well, they thought, what a great idea. Let's do the same thing on Father's Day. They did the same thing on Father's Day.

And hardly anybody got a card signifying that most of the people in prison didn't really care for dad too much. It's a wounding of a father, I found. And when people come into church, most, not all, but most have woundings they need to be healed from. And that's what God does. He heals the wounds.

Father. The father wound. It's significant. It's. It's very important to get healed of that.

If you don't get healed of that, ma', am, sir, then you'll be broken your whole life. How do you get healed? You get born again. You give your heart to Jesus, and you forgive your father and you forgive your mother. You have to honor them.

And I think the greatest way to honor is to forgive them.

But there are those who have family that are spiritual sons. I'm a spiritual son. Not. Not to my father. Talked to him this morning.

We both cried. I said, you're the greatest, dad. Thank you. If it wasn't for my father, I wouldn't be here. He taught me a lot of things.

How to work. He taught me integrity. He taught me character. He taught me to suffer under. Under a load.

I learned how to suffer. How did you learn how to do that? I know it's crazy, but the number one thing was raking leaves. Anybody rake leaves on the east coast when we had all these maple trees and stuff? Raking leaves was like, I remember getting blisters.

Remember getting. Remember getting blisters. I don't know why they didn't have gloves.

Remember getting blisters? I mean, I'm like this big. I'm seven, dad. If I'm blisters, dad, he's like, that's okay. Just move your hand around a little bit.

We're going to finish. We're going to finish today. It'd be like going to the hospital, for God's sake. If you had blisters, God forbid.

Taught me to continue to Raking taught me to finish. Finish what? You start, you finish. Took me a little while to get a hold of that. But I'm grateful for my dad, but he's not my spiritual dad.

He led me in certain ways. But really I got a new dad when I got born again in my 20s and I met Dr. James Morocco, who still my pastor. He's a spiritual father to me. There are spiritual fathers among us. Somebody said, well, I don't even know who my dad is.

Go to church, get it. Get a father. You need a spiritual dad. You do. I had somebody give me a gift today, and they said, thank you for being a spiritual father to me.

One of the tragedies of our culture, there's very few fathers. We're seeing really a.

A gathering everywhere I go and I guess, I don't know, I've got people, younger pastures, looking and, and in a very honoring way, desiring to be a part of what's. What God is doing. At Kings, because they have no father, they have no spiritual covering, nobody to talk to. They don't have anybody to call in their 30s and they've or 40s and they have. No, 40s is still a kid.

Come on. Somebody's amen. You know, you're getting older. If you think of 40s as a kid, I can, I can say age is more than numbers. I feel like I'm 25, but I'm about to turn 60 in a week.

I don't know where the time has gone.

I'm just getting started. Anybody feel like you're just getting started? I feel like I'm just getting started. Let's go. Gonna live forever.

And I'm. I'm aghast at how few fathers there are in churches and a few fathers there are across the nation and the nations of the world that people don't have anybody to relate to, to talk to, to get wisdom to. Not here at Kings we have fathers. Come on, somebody. All the fathers say, ben, This is end time restoration.

As we move closer to the return of Christ, I want you to look for this because it's biblical. Look for families to be restored. Look for children to be restored. Look for relationships to be restored. Look for restoration of honor in homes.

That's the number one thing a man wants. Respect. It is the number one thing a man wants.

Whenever I get in an argument with my wife or I feel bent over things, it's usually because I perceived and it doesn't happen often. I'm very honored and respected by my beautiful wife. Women want Want to be loved unconditionally. Want love. Want to be secure.

Want secure, want love. That's what women want. Men, women, they want respect. If you ask a man who in love or respect, of course they go together. But a man would say, I want to be respected.

If you would just apply that to your life and your marriage and your family. Man, sir, every time you get bent, every time you get upset, ask yourself if you're feeling disrespected right now and majority of the time is exactly what you feel. It just does something in you women when you're feeling a lack of love. Somebody's got to get off that love and respects. A great, great marriage book is somebody got to get off that wheel.

Somebody has to have the maturity in Christ to get off the wheel. To say, even though I don't feel respected, I'm a love you anyway. Or even though I don't feel loved, I'm a respect you anyway. It's a love and respect cycle of love and respect.

Restoration of honor, restoration of respect, a restoration of spiritual authority, a restoration of truth. This is what God's doing in the world.

The last great work before Jesus returns will not be just a demonstration of power. Listen, I'm all for demonstration of power. It's not just that. It's that for the purpose of turning the heart. That is what God is doing.

In conclusion, on Father's Day, this answer for a confused generation is fathers is men of God. Now, if you've, if you and your life, you've come in here and underneath the veneer of your life, you're, you're angry. You realize you have a lot of issues and you, you just say, to healing. Well, welcome to Kings. We're so glad you're here.

Every single one of us came in this place broken, in need of healing, some more broken than others. You might have had a great dad. You might not know your dad or everything in between. God is able to help you and to model what it is to be a. A man of God.

John, you texted me today. I cried when I got your text because you thanked me for being a model, Dr. David. You prayed it. Thank you for being a model in life. I hope to.

I'm going to stand before God for it. And it's. I'm not. I don't mean a model. I don't mean.

I don't mean a model. I mean like modeling, showing, exemplifying. I hope to, I hope to do that. I pray that if you were to follow my example and my Wife and my family, you would end up with the incredible blessings that he's poured out on us. And even more so we're all called to show Jesus through our actions, through our words, the way that we live, the way that we handle things, problems and trials and difficulties and success and failure, the way that we handle all of those things, that we would be an example.

That's what God is doing. So how do we as fathers, and of course moms, you throw your name in there too. How do we as a people of God? But it is Father's Day, so we're making an emphasis. How do we as fathers fulfill the word that's prophesied here?

Well, I think the first thing is if you're writing notes, we give your life to Jesus, number one, keys, please. Give your life to Jesus. If you haven't done that, that's the most godly thing you could do right now. And I would say that without that, you're not going to be good for anything and you'll end up in hell. Oh, you might seemingly do a lot of good things, good.

But none of those things will allow you to be forgiven of your sin. There's only one way. There's only one truth. There's only one life. His name is Jesus.

You must receive him. For God so loved the world that he sent his. Only the Father loved the world, so loved the world that he sent his son so that you could be redeemed, so that you could be healed. So, number one, if you want to be one of these end time fathers that was prophesied in the fulfillment, lest he strike the earth with a curse, meaning that if there's no turning of hearts of fathers to children and children to fathers, then the earth would be cursed.

But God's plan is to redeem mankind. And it starts by giving your heart to Jesus, number one. Number one, give your heart to Jesus. Number two, live for God. Let your actions, the way you speak, the way you talk, the way you walk, the way you treat your wife, the way you treat your children.

I mean, that's a tall order, you know, I'm so glad I was my father.

I sure wish I knew now, knew back then what I know now. I think about how I was I just short on patience sometimes I think about how, how selfish I was at times. I'm not under condemnation. It's under the blood. Plus, I got to when, when Clovis the Scandemic, that this man, that Kobe thing here, that, that, that, that fouchy thing irritates me.

We sat around our table. The beautiful result of those lies that they produced. The beautiful result was the bracken sat around the table. I've told it before. We're all locked inside.

And at one beautiful dinner where my daughter, I think, started, it started talking about different things in our family that was dysfunctional. Come back from college.

Then my son chimed in, and it seemed that nine tenths of the problems were me. Dad, I'm looking over at Karen. She's like, So I'm repenting. I knew it was bad when she looked at me and she said, are you okay? I'm like, yeah.

As a. As a. As a man of God, you need to live a lifestyle of repentance. And if you haven't asked your kids to forgive you, I think you need to, most likely.

My daughter on the phone today made me cry. I was in the back room getting ready to preach and brought her up on FaceTime. She said, hi, dad.

She said, you know, of all the dads in the world, if I could only pick one, I'd pick you. I sat there and I cried. She said that to me before, and that comes from me saying it to her first, that if I could only pick one little girl, of all the little girls in the world, I'd pick you. She'd say, oh, Daddy, God is turning the hearts of fathers to children, children to fathers. You need to give your life to Jesus.

You need to live his word, speak his word, know his word. You need to repent. Live an ongoing way, like, repent to your kids. Live open and honest. When you blow it, be honest about it.

Keep your. Keep your word. If you say you're going to come home and play ball, for the love of God, you better not let one client get in the way. You better not. And there are.

There can be. There can be moments. But if you said. You said, when I come home from work, we are gonna go throw ball for an example, you better come home from work, and you better keep your word to your kid as much as you would any other big deal you have at the office, because if you don't, you are a liar, and you will let your kid down. And when they have games, go.

And then petition that the games are not on Sunday because you go to church and you're committed to go.

Minister Micah, you and your children are your children of the fifth generation of this church. He's four. Five generations in the same church. I didn't stutter. Five.

His kids are the fifth generation in the church. Was it a choice? Minister Micah for you to be able to go to church.

Was it. Was it a choice for your kids to go to church? No. I'm sorry, what? No.

I had somebody say to me, oh, Pastor, my kid's not here. I'm like, how come? Oh, they didn't want to come. My answer, don't come to me and ask me a stupid question like that. I need.

I need wisdom. My kids don't want to come.

Do you make them go to school.

As a man of God, as a woman of God, live a lifestyle. Give your life to Jesus. Live a lifestyle of repentance. Model what covenant relationships are. Be in covenant with God to come to church faithfully.

Come faithfully, come. Be faithful to the house of God. Teach your kids this is not an optional thing. We go to church. We serve God.

I told my kids, bracken's preach the gospel. My last name is Bracken. I would tell them, bracken spreads the gospel. And then I would say, say it with me. That's right.

And I saw other things. Bracken's never quit. I mean, Christians never quit. But I just made it, you know, that's from my dad. Brackens don't quit.

Quits a four letter curse word. You don't quit. Quitters never win and winners never quit. You're a winner, son. You're a winner.

That's from my dad. He's a marine and a lawyer. You know, we needed some healing from some of that. But I mean, in part truth, impart, covenant, in part life, in part following through that. If they live the way that you're living, they would walk in the blessings that you're walking in.

And if you're not walking in them, you can start new.

I got to close.

Support your children.

Support your wife if you're married. I heard this one man of God say, you know, the wife you marry 10 years later, the wife you marry is the One you married 10 years later, that's the one you made.

My job is to love my wife as Christ loved the church and to release her into her giftings and callings. That's my job. I didn't do so good when we were younger. I'm improving, right? Amen.

Support your kids. What are they doing? What are their dreams? Support them. Danny.

I don't know. 9, 10. I just remember he's this, this high. We did. Our drummer didn't show up and he said, dad, I can do it.

I said, you've never drummed like in your life. He said, I could do it. I'm like, okay. We're not having him practice in the middle of a service on drums. How many of you know a bad drummer is very challenging?

They throw the whole team off. It's not a good plan.

So I'm. He insisted. And I said, lord, how do I handle this? I want to encourage him, but we're definitely not doing it here. I felt like the Lord said, you know, remember Andre Crouch?

One of the most incredible worship leaders and prolific songwriters in current church history. Like, I mean, amazing Andre Crouch. His father said, andre on the keys. And Andre began to play. He played ever since.

So that thought comes to me, and I felt like the Lord said, how will you know that if it's. If it's not me, if you don't let him? I thought, okay. So I told him. I brought him up to minister Micah.

You were leading worship all those years ago. And I said, my son's gonna play the drums. You all figured out. And he played so well on that first day that minister Micah was laughing so hard, he couldn't play the keys. I mean, like, couldn't keep the song because my son played, like, beautifully.

He's been playing since then. Well, guess what I had to do. I went out and bought a drum set. And those things are not cheap.

And then we set it up in our living room. Very inconvenient.

Like, oh, God took up most of the living room. I have a picture of him sitting back there. He is a professional level drummer right now. Plays like, four other instruments. Why?

Because of God and. And the anointing that he put upon him, but also because mom and dad got behind him and said, you can do it. You can do anything. You can change the world. That's where we need to be as.

As far fathers as mothers, that's the way we need to be. Support your kids. Send them to camp. Support them. Are you getting anything today?

The church has an Elijah assignment as well. Not just fathers, but it's to turn people back to God to provide spiritual leadership. Spirit. And the power of Elijah is about preparing people for the return of Christ.

The last thing you see. So you see this triple fulfillment. You see the prophetic word in Malachi fulfilled in John the Baptist. Correct. And then you see fulfilled in Revelation, chapter 11.

Turn there with me and I'll close. Revelation, chapter 11. There's some argument about the time frame of when this takes place. Revelation 11.

Did you get something tonight? Today you get encouraged. The idea is to encourage you. You can do it.

The two witnesses and the seventh trumpet, verse three now will give power to two of my witnesses. And they will prophesy 1260 days in sack, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands before the God of all the earth. And it, it goes on through verse 12.

The two witnesses. In the midst of the tribulation, there's a rapture. And then the tribulation. Depending upon your eschatology. Eschatology is the study of the end of the age.

The two witnesses here prophesy for 1260 days is three and a half years. And the Antichrist, the beast kills him. And they're dead. And they get up. I mean, that's quite a.

This is going to happen in history. Those two witnesses are Moses. There's some argument here, but most agree that it's Moses and Elijah, that even after the rapture, the good news of the witness is going forth that turn the hearts of the of mankind towards God. Sir, that's what you're called to do. That's what we're called to do.

Until he splits. To eastern sky. Live for God with all your heart. You make a difference. You make a difference.

Stand up on your feet all across this place. If you're not right with God, give your heart to Jesus. For the first time or in recommitment, everyone's standing, you say, that's me, then receive him now. That's the first thing you got to get born again. You must receive Jesus.

It's not just going to church. Go to church. Model that. Day in, day out, week in, week out. Be faithful to the house of God.

Be a faithful tither, be of someone faithful to pray. Be faithful to read the Word, speak the Word, give instruction from the Word. But it starts by giving your life to Christ. If you haven't done that, do it today for the first time or you need to recommit because you drifted. Just pray with me.

There'll be hundreds praying with you. Come on, pray right out loud. Say, dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son Jesus to die on a cross for my sin. I believe he rose again from the grave.

And I ask you today to forgive me, to wash me and cleanse me, and help me to rightly represent you. I would not demean you by the way in which I live. And I thank you for loving me. And I thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Lift your hands as a universal sign of surrender. With hands raised, I break every bondage, every attack. I pray healing on families. And I pray, Lord, such a release of your fire that people would know that Our families would know that all who come in contact with us would know. They would have experienced knowledge that you are God and that you have turned the hearts of the fathers to the children, children to the fathers.

I call forth. I call my own children home. Come on. If you have kids, they don't know, they don't know God or they're away from God, you call them right home by the authority they've come forth from our very loins. I call them forth in Jesus name.

Every attack be severed, every misunderstanding be broken. Bring kids home. Bring families home. Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. Bring generational blessing upon these.

Heal the wounds, heal the past covenant blessings that people may know that you are gone above all else. And we thank you and praise you for it. In Jesus name, amen. Put your hands together for God.
