The Church He is Coming For
In this introduction to The Seven, Pastor Daniel Bracken begins a study of Revelation 1–3 and the seven churches of Revelation. Before Jesus tells the churches what needs to change, He first reveals who He is—because we cannot become the people He has called us to be without first seeing Him.
Through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, we are invited to discover the unsearchable riches of Christ and allow a fresh revelation of Jesus to transform us individually and as a church. These seven letters reveal the kind of Church Jesus desires, correct the things that hinder His work, and call His people to become a pure and ready Bride. As we behold Jesus, examine our lives, and respond to His Word, we can become an overcoming Church prepared for His return.
Hi, this is Pastor Daniel Bracken. You're listening to Kings Alaska Podcast. I hope the Word encourages you and you get a touch from God that brings transformation and equips you to experience life with people, power and purpose. Thank you for joining us. Enjoy the Word.
Stand up on your feet with me.
Revelation, chapter 19, verse 7.
If you're there, say Amen.
Let us be glad and rejoice and give him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and his wife has made herself ready. Father, thank you. Move in power in Jesus name. Amen. You may be seated.
The Book of Revelation to me was just a really weird book. And I have never done a series out of the Book of Revelation like I'm going to do now. And for whatever reason, I was semi intimidated by it. Now, I've heard a lot of preaching out of the Book of Revelation, but to me it's just like that. It was just so unusual and so odd.
I've preached a lot of messages out of the Book of Revelation.
This series, I believe, is going to do something profound for us.
A number of years ago I had a dream. And in the dream I was basically taken to heaven. And in heaven I was at the place where they were assigning, we're giving assignments for the millennial rain. And it was an awesome, fearful place. I've shared that before, did a series of messages called the end is the beginning, because that's what the Lord spoke to me and said, son, the end, like when it's over, when your life is over, when this time is over, it's the beginning.
I was talking to Dr. Morocco just a couple weeks ago and I shared that with him. He says, wow, that sounds like something C.S. lewis would say. I was like, yeah, praise God. I can't take any credit.
I just, just try to have ears to hear, which is what he says to the church.
Nothing will transform your life, your emotions satisfy you more than when we get a revelation of Jesus. I'm going to say that again. It's worth writing down. Nothing will change you like getting a revelation of God. Nothing will transform you like the Word sharper than any two edged sword.
Start of the series on Sunday as well.
Called the Mountain. Sermon on the Mountain, the most influential sermon ever preached in the history of mankind or ever will be preached. The Sermon on the Mount talked about kingdom, character, and as I went through those Beatitudes, focused on the blessing, what that means. Blessed. There's no English word for blessed.
I tried to define that for you. It's God's favor. It's God's prosperity. It's. It's the goodness of God, it's the kindness of God, it's the power of God, it's the grace of God.
And there's blessing. In fact, there's seven Beatitudes. There's eight Beatitudes in the Sermon on the Mount. There's seven Beatitudes of the Book of Revelation.
Go. Go to Revelation, chapter one.
Matthew, mark, revelation.
Revelation of the lord jesus christ, Which God gave him to show his servants things that must shortly take place when he sent and signified. That's so powerful, signified it by his angel to his servant John. John's about 90 years old.
They tried to boil him in oil. You thought. You thought you had a hard time in life. Can you imagine people trying to boil you in oil? They tried to french fry him.
And he. He didn't die. He lived. And he's on the island of Patmos, his servant John, who bore witness of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ to all things that he saw. And here it is.
Verse 3. Blessed. Everybody say blessed. Blessed is he who reads those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written in it, for the time is near. There's a blessing coming upon you.
Come on, lift a hand to heaven. Say, there's a blessing coming upon me. Because I'm hearing this, and I'm gonna do it, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna do it.
This blessing that comes.
The transformation that God wants to bring in your life will come out of Revelation was sharing with. With a younger man of God even today, and he was telling me, I am struggling with pride. Pastor. I'm. I'm so convicted.
I see it everywhere. It's in my language. I feel it. I feel like I know more than other people. And, you know, sometimes I do.
And then I realize, maybe most time I do. And then I'm feel good about the fact that I. That I'm prideful. I'm sickened by it. The Lord has made me sick with pride.
I'm sick over it. I need change. I said, awesome. He said, how do I do it? I said, the fact that he revealed it to you is a miracle.
It's a miracle. And I said, now what you want to do is you want to go into scripture and dig out the word of God regarding pride and memorize those scriptures. Pride comes before a fall. Would you like to fall? Say, no, no, no.
And he. He don't want to fall either. And you start internalizing Those, and you start getting them down in your spirit. And not only that, you start praying them. Father, thank you.
That you've revealed to me that pride comes before a fall. Father, help me to walk in humility. You memorize scriptures. On the opposite, the virtue, humility. I don't want to have the pride like Satan.
I don't want to be like Satan. You start praying into these things, and I'll tell you what starts happening. You start changing. What is that even relevant to what you're preaching? Oh, it has all the relevance because the seven churches found in, in Revelation 2 and 3 are going to be greatly encouraged, greatly rebuked, because he's going to reveal to them exactly what kind of church he wants.
And I want to tell you what's amazing to me. There's so much talk. I got it in an art. I might get heated. Can you just help me get so heated this week?
No. You get people trying to tell you, here's what you need to do in your church, and they haven't grown anything past the size of an anvil.
And there's all kinds of people talking about how we need to be relevant and how we need to do this. And, and no, your lights aren't right. Your light, your lights aren't right. Just wait. It's too bright.
It's too dark. Nor. You need more haze, less haze. You need your screens. You need to change.
You need to screen in the lobby.
Everybody's got an opinion, everybody thinks they know how to do it. And then I've gotten sucked into that. Oh, we need. I mean, there is strategy. I mean, life groups is a good plan.
It's a biblical plan. It's fantastic.
Multiplying leadership and, and, and, and I enjoy TED Talks. I was at a TED Talk recently. Then I discovered it was a church. Recently, as in a few years ago.
It was the most professional thing I've ever sat in. It was amazing. It was astounding. And we're there, just wowed by the illustrations and everything. I started thinking, like, was there any scripture in that?
And there wasn't one scripture that was read. It was scriptural, You know, the end time, that harlot, Babylon. There's a false justice system that's going to come, and there's a religion that's just going to be, you know, accepting of everybody. Oh, we just accept everybody. We love everybody.
We don't accept things that God call our abomination.
There's all kinds of plans and all kinds of programs. I started thinking about what are some of the things that caused us to grow to the place we were at right now. And you know what it's been. It's been the Word and it's been the presence of God and it's, it's been miracles. And we have, we have a strategy.
We have prayer. And I'm, I'm all into prayer and worship and all of those things are important. But when you look at these churches that Jesus commands, and there's not the only churches in the world. It's just the ones he spoke to. Because the ones he spoke to are really a, a type of church that's throughout all the, all the church age.
You said, what church is the Church of America? Anybody know? It's the Laodicean Church. It's lukewarm at best. He said, well, we're not lukewarm.
I hope not. We might be at Nazareth level. I just, I want to be the kind of church he comes for.
And there's so few teaching actually. What does that mean? What does it mean being a church that he comes for? What does it mean being a church that he commends? I like being rebuked.
Anybody like being rebuked? I like it on one hand. On the other hand, shut your mouth. I like it because it stirs in me. Change.
I like the Lord rebuking me.
The Holy Spirit. Take your Bibles and turn to Philippians. Philippians 3. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us. A spirit of wisdom and revelation found in Ephesians.
And so here's what's going to happen. Revelation chapter one. Jesus reveals himself. There's more description about who the King of kings and the Lord of Lords is in, in Revelation chapter 1. Because in order to be like him, you have to see him.
And that's what he does. He shows himself like most profound. And then he uses some of these traits like the alpha and omega. And he uses those traits to apply them to these churches. That, that, that's the answer actually, for what they need to overcome.
We're going to get into it a little bit. Look at what, look at what Paul says to the church in Philippi. I can all all things for the loss of the Excellency, the excellence of the knowledge of Christ. The excellence of the knowledge of Christ.
When we see him, we'll be like him. Watch this. Now. If you can really get a glimpse of who God is and really what the truth is, but mix that with faith and the power of the Holy Spirit, it'll destroy your pride. When you really mix the word blessed are the meek humble, they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive. I'm not all that merciful generally, but you know what I found happen this week? Know what? Okay, I'll tell you. I was in a meeting and I was bothered.
And I felt my heart shift and I experienced mercy coming out of me. And I thought, how is that happening right now? And it's because I had an experience of studying the merciful God. I want the blessing. I want mercy.
How many of you want mercy? Lift your hand if you want mercy. You don't want judgment, you want mercy. Lift your hand if you want mercy. Then what ought to you?
What ought you to do? You ought to learn to release mercy. Blessed are the mercy merciful. And I found I'm not so merciful like some of you. Sister mercy, brother mercy, all your merciful children.
God bless you. I have like a gift of judgment and the Lord's shifting that in me. I'm starting to feel and have compassion more than I ever have. It's not that I don't love people. I do.
It's stupid. I can't stand. Stand.
Lift your hands to Jesus.
Is it the. The biblical word is foolish. Pastor Karen. Pastor Karen's like, oh, God, help me.
I count all things for the loss of the excellence of. The knowledge of. The knowledge of God. The knowledge of God, the knowledge of God. The Holy Spirit is the one who takes us and brings us into the deep things.
And that's what he's going to do in this study. That's what he's going to do in this series. He's going to show you himself and he's going to bring you in deep. Why? So you can become the kind of church individually and corporately that he'll come back for.
He said, well, he's just going to come no matter what the church does. Listen, there's. There's some connectivity here of, of speeding his return. If we can speed it as a possible, we can slow it down. I don't know.
I just want to please him. Anybody want to please the Lord?
If you can see what Paul saw, you, you'd behave a lot like him.
The book of Hebrews.
Moses. Parents rejected the commandment of Pharaoh because they saw that he was a beautiful child. There's something to behold of God, the beauty of the Lord. One thing I will seek after to behold the beauty of the Lord. David said, there's a beholding of God.
When we see him, we'll be like him. There is a. The Holy Spirit. Wants to take your life tonight, wants to take us as a church and bring us into an encounter of who he really is. And when that happens, when that happens, it bursts in your heart.
You begin to change.
Go to John 14, introduction to becoming the Church. The church he's coming for, being transformed individually John. John 16. Pardon me. John 16, verse 13.
However, when he is talking to the Holy Spirit, when he, the Spirit of truth has come, he will guide you. He will what? He will guide you is talking to that brother that's struggling with pride. Guess who's guiding him into his own personal death? The Holy Spirit said he wouldn't do that.
Oh, yes, he would. He would. Because you've asked him. Refiners fire. My heart's one desire is to be holy.
Well, when you ask him to refine you, when you ask him to examine you, when you ask him, do you want to be more like him? These moments when God's Spirit's on you and you and you and your. Your hair is standing on end, you got goose pimples or goosebumps or whatever you want to call it. I mean, God's powers on. You're like, I love you, Lord, and I live my voice.
And you're just weeping being and crying. And by the way, if you haven't wept and cried, you're partially backslidden. And I don't know when the last time is, you blush. That would be another indication of your purity before God.
In those moments, he's. You're like God, take my life, take me in all that I am. And then he does. And so many people begin to experience the pain of the blowtorch, the blowtorch of heaven on your life, showing you that you ugly. And why does he show that?
Ephesians 5. That which the Lord makes manifest or that which he makes light brings to light. He makes light. Ephesians 5. You can go through it towards the end, what that means is when God brings you and your pride, or your lust or your anger or your greed or your avarice, King James word your lack of mercy.
And he brings it into the light and he shows you it's a glorious gift so that you can deal with that now, because you will not be able to manipulate the Son of Man on the day when you stand before him. And I'm starting to realize more and more as I'm beginning to grow up in God, he wants to make me more like him. Why? So he can put Father fire and power in and through me like I've never experienced before. Some of you think that God's just going to let his shandai come just because you showed up and you're sitting on a pew.
He wants to transform you. And out of that transformation release anointing. Not everybody flows in the same anointing and power. Anointing and God enable. And God's empowerment it so.
Revelation 1. He's revealing Himself. Are you all there? In John 16, verse 13, Spirit of Truth has come. He will guide you into all truth.
For he will not speak in his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak talking to the Holy Spirit. We tell you the things to come. He will glorify me. He will take what he will take of what is mine and declare it to you. You see, when God declares things to you about your character, about.
About your integrity, integrity or the lack of it, when he commends you, when he builds you up, when he lovingly sends somebody to rebuke you, the circumstances and you embrace that and understand and discern what is the voice of God and what is a condemning demon because the devil comes to condemn you. I have never been more corrected in all my life. It seems like I get corrected all the time. I mean by the Lord, like, what are you doing? I'm like, I don't know.
Don't do that. Okay.
Praise God. Thank you, Lord.
All right, everybody know what I'm talking about? Your house. I. I don't know if it's. I've just learned. Like he's correcting me, but I don't feel bad about it.
I'm excited. Bring it.
Whatever you want to do.
Correct me. Oh God, I'd rather know now than when I'm before you in suffering loss, whatever that means. Cuz there is coming a day.
The Holy Spirit takes of Jesus, the things of Jesus, and he reveals them to us. Go to Ephesians 3.
First person there. Hand me your Bible. Ephesians 3.
So the Holy Spirit, the spirit of truth, is going to lead, going to guide, going to direct us.
Ephesians 3. Thank you, Doctor. Verse 8. Although I'm in least of all the Lord's people. Is this an apple?
It's beautiful, no?
Although on the least of the Lord's people. This grace was given to me to preach to the Gentiles. Listen. The boundless riches. Another version says, the unsearchable riches of Christ.
The unsearchable riches of Christ. And to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past has been kept hidden in God who created all things.
There is unsearchable riches. Let me say this to you. What God wants to do is he wants to open up your understanding. He wants to illuminate your heart. Why?
So that you become like him. So that we become like the church he comes for. So that we receive. You know, one of the greatest lacking studies about the kingdom of God. God.
There's all kinds of leadership stuff. There's all kinds. Frankly, I'm sick of it because I started thinking about what transformed this beautiful wife of mine. I started thinking about what's transformed me and I started thinking about what's transformed others. And it is an encounter with God, of the spirit, of truth, of the word, of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
It wasn't like I had a three step, you know, the 12 step program. I'm not against the 12 steps, but I'm really grateful for the one step which is Jesus Christ, crucified and resurrected. Believe on him. You shall be saved. You shall be born again.
I'm so thankful for the new creation. And as I'm challenged with this different corrections and things I'm going through as, as a man just 60 now serving God for maybe not as long as some of you, maybe longer than others. I'm finding him at work in my life in the most profound way. And it's not because I signed up for some book. I'm not against books.
And it's not because I checked all the boxes to do something. I. I started getting deeper in the word and I started getting deeper in the things of the Spirit. Something began to shift and all of a sudden I'm seeing some things. If you deal with this, you'll get an another level, a blessing if you'll correct this. And it's not even so much that it's the blessing.
It's because of his great love for me that's motivated me to stop being a jerk.
You know, I was. I locked away in a camper for the past couple of days studying. I'm gonna do more of that. That's really good. That's awesome.
And I'm married to my secretary, Pastor Karen. She's her. I'm her secretary too.
But I learned something interesting. As we're driving my truck, the camper blocks my whole rear view so I can't see out my rear view mirror, but I got side mirrors. So I decided, you know, not to have the rear view mirror fixed on my face like some of you have.
I decided let me just have the most incredible view this whole drive. And so I turned it to hit My wife's face the whole drive. And I just sat there, especially yesterday. And my gosh, that's mine right there. Look at those amazing eyelashes.
And they're real.
And I was staring at her and I watched her looking out at this creation. She said, I'm like, oh man, she didn't even know I'm looking at. I stared at her for it seemed like ever. And she was looking out and she would say, oh Jesus.
And she's just like being her. I'm staring at her the whole time. And then of course that shifted because I wanted to notice that I was staring at her so she would like me even more, maybe stare at me, you know what I mean? Anybody know what I'm talking about? But I found, I found that doing something in my heart towards my wife.
It's a biblical thing. What you behold, you will become. And chapter one, before we get to chapter two and chapter three is you're getting a view of really who. Who Jesus is. The apocalypse is the unveiling, yes, of the end times, but it's the unveiling of, of the man Christ.
Jesus, the Son of man. And when you see him and you meditate on him and you ask him for revelation, it changes his whole walk with him. There's no one like him. There's no one like him. The unsearchable riches of Christ.
The unsearchable riches of Christ. Minister Micah, would you take keys for me? Right up the stairs is good.
Appreciate you.
Come on. Lift a hand to heaven and say, oh God, reveal to me the unsearchable riches of Christ.
Revelation chapter one through three. This vision of the apostle John highlights 30 descriptions of Jesus. 30. 30. Can you make 30 descriptions about anything?
30 of them. And then ties in all of these eternal rewards. You see, before Jesus tells the church what he desired her to be, he reveals the church of who he is. Because if you don't know who he is, we can never become what he's intelligent intended us to be.
Oh God, I pray and the onset of this series that you would illuminate us, you would illuminate our hearts. We would see you, we would behold you.
Every single person here. Press into this. Listen, just because you haven't had a vision yet, maybe, or, or, or you haven't had an encounter like that, like some of these guests that come through, or maybe some that I've described myself. Don't, don't, don't mean that, that what I must be for pastors. No, it isn't.
It's for believers. It's for anybody. God wants to give you an encounter, but many times you're not hungry.
I've changed my nutrition and I, I mostly eat steak.
I had to figure out when I was hungry because I, I was just eating all the time. Like, oh, it's time to eat.
So now I'm, I'm in touch with the fact when I'm hungry and when I'm not, I am not hungry right now. Physically not hungry. I'm gonna be hungry.
Understanding how things work. If you're not hungry spiritually, something's wrong.
See, one of the purposes of messages like this is to, is to make you hungry, to make you thirsty, to say, God, I want to see you. I want to behold you. Oh, unsearchable. I don't even know what that means. What is the unsearchable Riches.
Meditate on that. Uncertain, boundless. I think the Android version said the boundless riches of Christ. There's no bounds. Unsearchable.
No matter how you search, no matter, no matter how long you look, no matter what you behold and how much treasure you find. In prayer and in the Word, there is always more. One of the reasons the four living creatures and around the throne they say holy. And there says, like everybody says, holy, Holy, holy. I mean all the eyes.
Come on, you go read about these unusual creations. Seraphim, covered with eyes. Why? Because you can't behold all his glory no matter how many eyes you have.
Holy. Holy. We have no framework for how amazing and how awesome he is. And yet he comes to a 90 year old man who's been boiled in oil.
John chapter 4. Seven churches which are in Asia. Grace and peace.
And this salutation and this.
I'm of course just scraping the surface. He's coming with clouds and every eye will see a.
The answer to the condition. Listen, listen to me. The answer to the condition. The dead church. The answer to the condition of a church being dead.
The answer to the condition of a church being compromised. A compromised church with lack of fear of the Lord. People getting up and down during salvation. People walking around when the word is being ready. People not showing up to prayer.
Maybe said, do you have that happen? Well, of course we do. But there's a whole group of other folks that esteem those things. Why? Because they've had an encounter with God to give them the fear of the Lord.
How can you expect somebody to behave in the fear of the Lord if they've never seen him. That's like trying to tell somebody about a great steak that you ate. That you never had. That's religion. But when you behold him, when.
When he comes upon you and he opens your eyes and he begins to give you a sampling of what unsearchable is. And he illuminates you, and he heals you, and he touches you and he visits you, and he takes out the strife and the pain, and he heals your broken heart. The church can never. Can never get alive if it doesn't have a visitation or revelation of who Jesus is. You must have a revelation of who he is.
The person with pride that called me. You got to have a revelation of how wicked that is. You're the same. You're. You're.
You're walking through the same sin as Satan. You're being like Satan. Meditate on that. Oh, I don't like that. Good Lord, pull it out of me.
Help me. You'll find that pride is often a cover for shame. And you feel inadequate and you feel like you don't know enough or you're not smart enough. And then you begin to dance around it to try to cover the fact that you feel like you're less than. Which is all from the fall, it's all from the enemy, it's all from the devil or lust for the church to get on fire.
It's got to have a greater revelation of Jesus in these next weeks. Read through. Read Revelation chapter 1. Read Revelation chapter 2. Read Revelation chapter 3.
And read it again, and read it again. And read it again and ask God to speak to you. Ask God to open your heart. Heart. Ask God to illuminate you.
One of the most amazing, significant things it's found is this reference to the Son of Man. Look at verse 13.
Let's go from verse 12. And I turned to see a voice who's with me? Having turned, I saw the seven gold lampstands. And in the midst of the seven lampstands, one like the Son of Man. The Son of Man.
You know where that comes from? It comes from the Book of Daniel, chapter seven. I'll read it to you. Daniel seven and verse nine. The Ancient of Days, nine through fourteen.
His garment was as white as snow, and his hair and his head as pure as wool. Verse 13. 1 Like the son of man coming with the clouds of heaven came. The Ancient of days was given him dominion, kingdom and all the peoples and nations serving him. As Jesus, his dominion is an everlasting dominion.
Down to verse 27. The kingdom shall be given to the people and the saints of the Most High. The Son of Man is referring to the God, man, Jesus, fully God, fully holy man. Ties directly into Daniel, chapter seven.
It's this title that emphasizes that Jesus will reign as king over all the nations. Ask him to open your. You see your. I don't even know where you're at. Okay, let me just bring it all back together.
I'm challenging you before we move on as an overview of the book of Revelation, chapter 1, 2 and 3. Chapter 1. Jesus is showing the church who he is because you will never become what he's called you to be unless you see who he is. And he's the one that changes you and he's the one that does it. And instead I think of all the programs and I say it this way, it's not.
It's not a four shot mocha that kept me in the church. When I came in the church, they didn't even serve coffee. They said, like 50 cent coffee. That was terrible. Folgers sent some pot in the corner and hardly anybody ever drank it.
Burned myself on it a few times. Didn't come for coffee, didn't stay for coffee. I didn't. I didn't come for anything other than to experience the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords being preached through holy vessels like Dr. James Morocco. And the power of God would come on me and he would shake me and speak to me and heal me of these deep wounds I had from when I was a little boy.
He'd wrap his arms around me before I was engaged to Karen. I would go home, think what you want. I fell in love with him. I couldn't wait to go home. I wouldn't tell anybody this back earlier because.
Just sing like some kind of a fruitcake. I would go back to my house, my little apartment, and I'd put on worship music. And the Lord would hold me. He would hold me and he would rock me back and forth to the soothing, healing worship. And I would cry and I would laugh and I would weep and I'd have dreams.
And at that time, I. It showed me things that. That he wanted to change me. But I. I was afraid, you know, So I would back off and just so grateful. You get a revelation of Jesus, everything's gonna change.
You get a revelation in Jesus, it'll teach you the fear of the Lord. You keep your hands off of that girl. Keep your hands off of that boy. To all the youth in the house. It'll help you.
It'll help you. The dead church is going to have a revelation of Jesus.
An unveiling of his glory. The church that Jesus is returning for is very different than the church. That's very different than many church models.
And we're going to look at these.
Great treasure hidden until someone seeks for it. Proverbs 25:2. It's the glory of God to conceal a matter. It's the glory of kings to search out a matter.
Proverbs 20:5. To my mind the kingly spirit seeks. Seek me and you'll find me. When you seek me with all your heart. Not half your heart, not part of your heart scrolling with your eyeballs falling out of your head.
And then your other heart serves. Seeking God. Now all your heart, all your heart. You'll feel, you'll be, you'll find him. I'm trying to make you hungry.
Come on. Lift your hands to Jesus say give me a fresh revelation.
Oh, we're gonna find our, we're gonna find where we are in this composite of these seven churches, of these letters that are written, Jesus is going to show himself to us in a way that we never have before. And then as we look at these things, these seven churches and these letters, what's going to happen as a transforming power of God is going to come upon Kings, Alaska. It's going to come upon all of our life groups, going to come upon our school because we don't want to just, just build something. It's not about, it's not about relevance, it's not about coffee, It's not about any of that. It's about, it's about falling in love with him and being the kind of church he wants us to be.
A pure and spotless bride, being one that are, that are made ready. And then what happens is a release of his manifested power such that we have never known. We have never known what's coming. If we'll do what we're being. You're being invited.
I'm right now. I'm writing an invitation to you from Revelation. I'm inviting you to behold him and begin to change your life. Churches are made of families. Nations are made of families.
If the church is not set on fire by the glory of God. These seven church. These seven letters show us what kind of church Jesus is building. And it shows us what of kind the kind of church he's coming back for. And I'm just gonna say we gotta change some things.
Like what? Stick around for the series. It's the clearest description relevance. Man, they're just burning the, the shots, the coffee, there's I, I. It's like an idol.
I think coffee's become an idol for some people.
I remember quitting coffee with Pastor Karen. Pastor answered, what do you guys, we're fasting. What are you fasting? Coffee. She goes, oh my gosh.
Why would you do that? We like our little coffee. We like whatever we like, son. About Listen, we need a sign out front. We need all those things.
Can I tell you what the greatest sign is? You being transformed. Your marriage being totally healed. Your kids being touched by God. Signs and wonders and miracles of provision, miracles of deliverance, miracles of salvation.
Cancer is falling off. You know what's amazing is when God takes a human heart, then those who know it quite well know that it's black. Deceitfully wicked and black. And all of a sudden your heart's no longer black. And your neighbor realizes you're not a jerk anymore.
Something's changed in you. And you begin to tell him, I, I've given my life to Christ. He's real. He's alive and he's coming. He's coming back.
He's coming back. I want to be counted among those who who see his soon imminent returning. Imminent returning with an eye. I want to see it. I want to see him come.
How the enemy weaves his way in even through good religious things. We're open. In this prayer room. We will have a church that never closes when, I don't know, we're starting. You'll hear more about it.
We plan it this week. We'll launch it in about four weeks. It's going to be a prayer. It's going to be a prayer meeting. 4 hour prayer meeting every Friday night, full blast worship.
I don't care if it's me and my wife. Of course my staff's gonna have to come that I, I no, that's even not true. We have people that'll have to lead it. But I'll tell you what I think is going to happen. I think we're going to behold him, the unsearchable riches of God.
And it's going to bring change.
Change in me, Change in you. All the movements, many, I should say many of the great movements around the world are preoccupied with getting more money, being more comfortable.
Instead of a deeper revelation of God, I'm going for the. I want to go for the deeper revelation of God. All those other things are good too. Amen. I mean, yeah, but they're not the first thing.
The first seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, his way of being and doing right. And he'll add all things. Don't miss the series. We'll get into the first church. First letter next week.
Lift your hands to heaven all across this place. Father. Thank you. Read Revelation chapter one, Chapter two, Chapter three. Ask him to illuminate your worship team.
Would you come?
You can apply them to your life individually. We're going to apply these truths, these.
You know what's amazing that I've never seen before? All these description of Jesus, all the descriptions that he gives, these names like Alpha and Omega, beginning in the end.
He uses and applies him to the churches that are needing that as the answer to their problem so that they overcome. It's profound, The names and that he details themselves with.
The names that he details themselves with, Holds the seven stars in his right hand, calls himself the first and last who was dead.
Jesus Christ identifies himself by this descriptive means that he. Of who he is, it describes him and then he relates that to the church as the answer they need to overcome. It's. It's heavy. I don't know what you're facing, but you're able to overcome because the King of kings is overcoming it.
There's his overcoming. There's not one thing, not one, no temptation to cease you, except that which is common to man. And he makes a way of escape. He's. He's able to help us.
We're going to be an overcoming church. We are an overcoming church. We have overcome. But the greatest is yet to come. And through a revelation of who Jesus is, through the Apocalypse and understanding the revelation of the man, Christ Jesus.
The. The. The. The man, the fully gone, fully man, the Son of Man. When we.
When we see him, that brings transformation in us. And then through these letters, we're going to examine our lives and we're going to examine. Examine our church, this church. We're going to take a look at where we're at and we're going to change whatever needs to be changed. Because we don't want to be one that accommodates Jezebel.
Hello. We don't want to be one that's. That's lukewarm, so that we're spit out of his mouth. And that's not even a picture of rejection. It's a picture of what makes him sick.
And then the other thing is that he. He so wants us to transform because he's trying to wrap his arms around us and give us power and authority, authority that we've never known before. And your toleration of Jezebel, your lukewarmness, your. Your cold love hinders. Listen to me.
It hinders what he wants to do. It's in the way. It's sin. That's in the way of the manifestation of the power of God in the earth in the end time church. He's raising up a generation, my God.
He's raising up a people. He is. And as you said, was about works and. No, it's not about works, but holiness matters. It matters.
So how are we going to do that? Through revelation. It's going to change. Going to speak to us. We're going to.
We're going to study the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. And as we look intently into him and his Word and his law and all that, that means we will find the unsearchable riches of Christ as it is Kings who look in on the things that are hidden in Proverbs 25:2. I believe it is to. To search out things, to search him. I've so rested on the sovereignty of God where he could just come.
You come. You know where I am. You know where I am. You come if you want to. You can come right now if you want to, Lord.
Yeah, but you know what happens is you mature. I mean, I love those moments of where he surprises me and I have a dream and something happens. But there's also those moments of hungering and thirsting and saying, I want to see you. I want to behold the things of your word. I want you to speak to me, God.
Show me. I want to see your face. I want to experience your power. I want to know you. The fellowship of your suffering and your resurrection power.
I want to know you, God. I don't want to be reduced to a religious person. I want. I want to be set on fire. I want to see your burning eyes of flame.
I want to see your hair as white as wool. I want to behold the glory of the Lord. I want to see your glory. I don't care what it cost me. Change me.
Absolutely. I'm a man of unclean lips without your blood. But by your blood and by a coal that comes from your altar, you can cleanse these lips and you can raise up a church that you would come for. You raise up a spotless bride, a spotless pride through people that love you and serve you and worship you and pray and see your power manifested. God, I'm longing for that.
I want to be a part of a church like that, Lord. We'll have programs, but not the ones you don't want us to have. Come on, stand up on your feet. Well, I hope you were encouraged by God's word. Thank you again for listening to Kings Alaska Podcast.
