So we're going to find our text from 1st Samuel, chapter 19. Going to look at time, allotting 24 verses of scripture, but just going to read three to start. Would you stand up on your feet all across this place? Let's read in the new King James, 1st Samuel 19, verse 1. Now, Saul spoke to Jonathan, his son, and to all of his servants that they should kill David.

But Jonathan, Saul's son, delighted greatly in David. So Jonathan told David, saying, my father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore, please be on your guard until morning. Stay in a secret place. I want you to say that.

Stay in a secret place and hide. I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak with my father about you. And I will observe and I will tell you. Let's pray, Father. Thank you.

Move in great power in Jesus name, Amen. You may be seated again. Why study the life of David? Because when you study the life of David, you receive something from Scripture that will help you in your New Testament walk. It says in Zachariah, chapter 12.

And it's on the screen. I'll read it to you. In that day, the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I love that the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord before them. So it's important to study the life of David.

It's important to study all scripture. It's God breathed and it will change you. It goes forth again. It doesn't return. Void.

Review of what we've covered thus far. We've. We've found David who has. He's most likely, or I should say possibly the offspring out of an illicit relationship between David's father, Jesse, and. And perhaps, perhaps an adulterous affair.

We don't know. We get that from the Psalms where he says, I was conceived in iniquity. And then you see, in his family where he's not really accepted. I mean, it's more than sibling rivalry. It's more than an older brother, you know, being mean to a younger sibling.

He's not inv. The prophet comes. And these are, these are things that we've looked at in previous messages. For those of you that are joining Us for the first time. Welcome.

I'm so glad you're here. The prophet of God, Samuel, comes. None of his words fell to the ground. And he comes. And he comes to Bethlehem, directed by the Lord.

Saul had been rejected, and God chose for himself another king. Why was Saul rejected? Saul rejected, was rejected by God because he did not obey the Word. He yielded to the pressure of the people and he sacrificed before the prophet got there. He did not obey, and as a result, he was rejected.

He was at one time God's anointed, chosen, selected. I mean, he had an incredible. An incredible resume as time went on, as he was humble before the Lord. But when he got prideful, he then basically was rejected and he lost the anointing. He lost the touch of God on his life.

And so God chooses himself from the sheepfold, a young man who's ready. His name is David. He leads the prophet to Bethlehem. He comes to Bethlehem. And I love how the elders meet the prophet.

And the elders are like, is everything okay? They're like, it's good.

Makes you wonder if they were sinning.

He comes. He says, I've come to sacrifice. And he goes to Jesse's house, and he sacrifices. And seven strapping lads come out. A picture seven of seven as a number of completion, perfection.

Seven sons of Jesse come and. And Saul sees Eliab, who's just really like Saul. Samuel, pardon me. Sees Eliab. Thank you, Pastor Karen sees Eliab and sees.

He's like Saul. He was big and strong and handsome. He says, surely this is the anointed. And that very famous verse where the Lord speaks to Samuel and says, what man looks at the outward appearance? God looks at the.

The heart. I've not chosen him. And so the prophet says, is there another? And they said, well, yeah, yeah, there's the youngest. But youngest is a derogatory term.

It's like the run. It's like there's. Yeah, there's one other one. He's half brother now. I'm reading into it.

We don't know for sure. But he said, why wouldn't they invite him? How rude. Come on, your whole family's gathered. The prophet of God, of the nation, comes, and you don't bring him?

They're like, well, yeah, he's out there. Bring him. And when he comes, the Lord says, this is the one I've anointed. And so he takes oil and he pours it over his head, and he anoints him as the next king in front of his brothers. David is the only one that's anointed three times publicly.

That was the first time. And he, he is then chosen by an act of God. This is before he kills Goliath. He's chosen to come to the court. He comes to the court because he's played skillfully.

He had a music gift. Listen, your gift will make way for the giver. His gift of music and worship. They said, bring somebody. Because Saul's tormented, the anointing left Saul.

He now has a demon spirit. And the anoint. The power of God, the enablement of God is now on this young ruddy handsome shepherd boy with a harp. Rejected by his family, but chosen by God. And he has his music gift.

And so they asked a young worship leader to come to the White House, Gibeah. And he comes and he begins to play for us all when he's tormented. Little did Saul know that they just invited the next king in to Gibbie into the White House, who's then going to take over eventually. And he's there. And he would go back and forth between there and Bethlehem.

And then his father sends him on a journey. I'm just catching you up to where we are. It's important to note. His father sends him on a journey to deliver pizza.

Pizza, cheese and bread. These 10 cheeses. So he delivers cheese and bread to the, to his brothers, three of them out there in the war, the battle against the Philistines. And there's this one Philistine whose name is Goliath, the fat headed uncircumcised one. And he would come out the champion of gaff.

And he would come out and he would taunt and mock God and mock Israel and mock the army. And so David comes to deliver the cheese and the bread and he hears the mocking on that day, as he did every day. And he says, who is, who is this guy? He's so bent. He's like, why doesn't somebody just totally kill him right now?

And they said, oh no, he's the champion. They said, yeah, but, but, but, but we can kill him. And they said, and as a matter of fact, if you, if somebody kills him, you get IRS tax exemption, you get the girl and great riches. Now what young man would not be like, I'm down.

He's going to get a girl, money and tax free. David was brought to the king and the king tried to give him his armor. He said, I've not tested these, I've not tried these. And David goes out and kills Goliath with a sling and a stone. He thought differently.

He Was different. And in that moment, at approximately 17 years of age, understand what happened to David. David went from an. From just a young little worshiper, cheese delivery boy, pizza delivery boy. He went from that.

Rejected by his brothers, left out in the field. He went from that to the most famous person in all of Israel. He became a national hero and went to Gibeah to serve. I mean, that's amazing. Quite a promotion.

And yet it seems that he stays humble. And in the course of his going there, he, he, he. And. And the battle of dropping Goliath, he makes friends with Jonathan. And that was our last message.

This covenant relationship he has. I mean, you gotta have brothers, you gotta have sisters. If you're gonna win, you cannot do it alone. You have to do it with God. There are moments of times when you're alone.

There are Gethsemane times when you don't know how to make it through. You don't know which way to turn. You don't know how you're gonna make it out. There's times when you ask people to pray and they fall asleep and they don't pray. Jesus says, can you not tarry with me one hour.

And he's there and he. He's. He's praying and his sweat becomes like drops of blood. There are times like that where you can't reach your pastor, you can't reach your life group leader. You can't find anybody to agree with you.

There's the. The. The dark night of the soul, they used to call it. That's what the old timers used to call the dark night of the soul. I was talking to a brother this morning.

He said, you know, I. I was so sick about the illness that my wife is going through. She had been diagnosed with this horrible diagnosis, relatively new to the church. He said, I was so tormented and I was so broken, and I was so angry. And I was watching the service online and I just came to the place where I just couldn't do it. I didn't know what else to do.

So I fell on my face and I began to weep and cry and weep and cry. You know something? I don't like that personally myself, when I'm weeping and crying. Oh, but I love what it does for me, me. Because if you'll weep and cry to God, I don't mean weep and cry for pity and sorrow.

I mean turn that towards God and cry out to God. My son having an abscess tooth years ago, he would just moan. The whole house is filled with, oh. I said, dude, You've got to start making cry out to Jesus. Quit moaning, just go, Jesus, come on, somebody try that.

Jesus. Yeah. And he got set free and healed. And this gentleman is telling me this morning, he's on his face weeping and crying at the end, at the end of what he knows to do. There's nothing that can fix it.

And God spoke to him so clear that he knew that God spoke to him. And I think it was the first time that it ever happened. And the Lord said to him, it's done. And all of a sudden his. His soul and his filled with, with faith.

And he just stood up and went, it's done. Come on, somebody say it's done. Do you know what happened? God turned the whole thing around. His wife's 100 healed a little bit, a little bit of stuff that's turning around still totally healed.

And when he got a report, a further report of heart problems and stuff, he just had that in his spirit. It's done. Come on, somebody say it's done. There's times like that, but there's other times where you need to have a brother, you need to have a sister, you need to have people that'll walk with you and talk with you, with you and pray with you.

We're reviewing here.

First kings. Pardon me. First Samuel 19.

David's life. He has his promise of becoming king. And now he's threatened. He's threatened four times. David is now living in the tension between the fulfillment of the promise and persecution.

And I'm just going to tell you, you get a promise, you're going to also have a fight. And he said, I don't like that part. I know, I don't either, but that's just the way it is. Who did somebody say to me? New level, new devil.

The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. But. But Jesus has come that you might have life. There are times where you must contend and believe and decree and declare. And if you quit.

Quit is a four letter curse word. My father taught me that. He said this over and over. It was before we were born again, before we knew the Lord. But sure stuck with me.

He said, listen to me. Brackens don't quit. Say it. Brackens don't quit. You know what I passed on to my kids?

Brackens don't quit. Brackens don't quit. Until I was convicted that it's not about being a Bracken. Now that's my last name. Just in case you thought it was some wild animal or something like that.

That's My last name. I changed that. And the truth is not about brackens or capos. It's about Christians. Real Christians don't quit.

Why? What are you gonna quit to? Where are you gonna go? He's the one that has the words of eternal life. And so when he gives you a promise, you get in that thing like a howitzer and mow down the opposition.

What if it looks like it's impossible? Oh, it's totally gonna look like that. What if it looks like somebody's trying to kill you? That's true. Yes, it does.

What if it looks like a bad doctor's report or a bit, you know, a year in business or whatever? You contend you believe. You contend you believe. You decree you stand. And having done all else, you continue to stand.

Don't quit. Where are you going? God will come through for you. Abraham being fully persuaded.

Abraham. Romans 4, verse 19, 20, 21.

Abraham was fully persuaded. That's why he was able to see the miracle. He looked at all the evidence of his life. He's old. His wife's old.

He looked at all the circumstances. It's impossible to have a child. It's too old. Come on. Somebody say they're too old.

But God. But God is able to intervene. And Abraham was fully persuaded. I've shared this before, but for those of you that might be new, you need to hear it. I feel it in my spirit right now.

I had a dream. I had two angels visit me. Somebody said, how do you know they were angels? Because it was my dream and I know they were angels. You have your dream, I'll have mine.

Two angels in plain clothes. They look like special Ops angels. And they say to me, where do you stand regarding supernatural provision? And it goes on. Supernatural provision, divine provision and divine healing.

And it's like this echo. And I've told this over and over, and my answer is embarrassing, but it was a dream from God to expose a chink in my armor. And my answer, sad to say, I'm a pastor at Kings.

Wrong answer. Come on, somebody say wrong answer. And I felt like I was five years old. I was like, I'm a pastor at Kings. And they just looked at me, beaming, rebuke, shining at me.

I'm like, ah. And my next. My next answer is equally as bad or worse. Now, I knew that. Okay, wrong answer.

And then I said, and we built the building on the hill.

By God's grace. It's totally the dream I have. They beam, they shine at me. And I wake up, I'm in my Room and the power. God's in my room.

And the Lord says, son, I said, yeah. He says, you're not fully persuaded. I thought, oh, God, are you fully persuaded? If you're not fully persuaded, it's this. It's this tension between fulfillment of promise and the battle.

The fulfillment of promise and the battle. See, if you don't really have a clear word from God, then you won't be able to stand when the battle comes. And David had a very clear word from God. You are the next king. Glug, glug, glug.

The next king. Glug, glug, glug. You're the next anointed over Israel. Glug, glug, glug. People saw it.

I'm sure he had confirmation in his songs, his psalms, and on and on and on. And God's power coming upon him, really from that day forward, God's power comes on him. And there's these four instances in the text now where four separate incidents were where people tried to kill him. Saul, you thought your employer was bad. This guy's rough.

But Jonathan has his back. Come on, somebody say Jonathan has his back. It's a great contrast in the situation here between First Samuel 18:30 and. And First Samuel 19:1. First Samuel 18:30, the Philistines attacked Israel.

And David's. David successful in defeating them. And all of Israel would have been their slaves had he not done. And now, now he's like, you know, everybody's like, david, David. Who can do it?

David can. Who can do it? David? Hey, yeah. Everybody's excited.

David killed the giant. Look what David has done. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Right. Okay, now. Now the king wants to kill him.

Why? Because he's demonized and because he's jealous. Has anybody beside me had to deal with somebody who doesn't like you because you've been successful? Successful or you've been. You've been anointed.

And they look down at you, be like, you little dirt bag, Jonathan has his back. I put this up. Prayer. The word and covenant relationships are God's provision for victory in seasons of attack. I'm going to say it again.

You should say it with me. Prayer. The word and covenant relationships are God's provision for victory in seasons of attack. We have been through a intense past week, so what's up with that? It is the way that it rolls.

It's the way the cookie crumbles. Some weeks are just woo, shining victory and ease. Everything's greased with the oil of the Holy Ghost. And then other Weeks you've got to contend. Other weeks you got to lace up your gloves and get after it.

I had a week like that. Anybody else? I don't know what this week's like. I don't, I don't know. I like the fight.

Anybody else?

Come on, come on. Somebody say, huh?

It is how it is on the way to fulfillment. You're going to go through battles, so you pray. Everybody say pray. Pray. Number two, the word David had a word.

Do you have a word? If you have a word, then you can stand on the word that'll come to pass unless you quit, which is a four letter curse word. Christians don't quit.

But number three, covenant relationships. David had his back. Who has your back? And you want to be sure they're not chewing on it. Who?

Who has your back? He said, with the Lord. The Lord has my back. Yeah, I know the Lord has your back, but he brings people into your life. Amen.

I'm so encouraged by what's taking place in our men's ministry Kingsmen, because they're developing relationships. And I, I had the privilege of being at the end of one of the meetings on Saturday and I saw great transparency. And I said to Dwayne hall, the leader of our men kingsmen, I said, man, when the men, men. When the men, men, when the men begin to get transparent and get real, you're going to have a move of God. And that already begun to happen on Saturday.

People said, you know, sharing some of the stuff they're struggling with, looking for prayer. There's this camaraderie. There is this. Covenant relationships are beginning. You can't do it alone.

You're not designed to do it alone. How can two of you walk together unless there be an agreement? Come on. If one can put a thousand to fly, two can put 10,000. I'm talking about David.

David had a relationship with, with Jonathan, and Jonathan had his back, which is unusual because Jonathan was supposed to be the heir. He was the heir apparent. Then why was it that the heir yields completely to this shepherd boy? He had some great maturity. I mean, he could have shanked him himself.

I'm going to be the next king.

No, it's unusual. He wanted that. He gave him his armor. He said, I've got you, I'm with you. Those with perverse minds think perverse things about this text.

That's all I'll say about that. Your perversity. You need to be delivered. Prayer, the word covenant relationships are God's provision for victory in seasons of attack. Jonathan Tried to bring peace and reconciliation between David and Saul.

Blessed are the peacemakers. He tried to bring peace. Look at this with me. This is from 1st Samuel 19:4. I'm gonna read the text to you.

Thus Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul, his father. He. So he's like, no, dad, seriously, He's. He. He killed Goliath.

He's. He's. He's with us, man. Dad, he's with us. He spoke well of him.

He argued his case and he said to him, let. Listen to this verse. Verse 4. Let not the king sin. What is some guts?

I love being rebuked by my son or my daughter. No, I don't like being rebuked, but I like when they. I like when they got the guts to confront me on something that they think maybe I've done wrong or could have done better. I had a bad attitude number of months ago. Don't look at me like that.

You have a bad attitude right now.

And I was talking with my son, and he starts saying, dad, and he starts speaking life. Speaking life, Speaking life. He starts saying, this is what's gonna happen. This is gonna happen. I realized, ah, Jesus, I have a bad attitude.

And he. He said, let me pray for you, dad. I'm like, okay, that's a beautiful thing to have people in your life, never mind your children that'll speak correction to you. Got pulled over for us for going through a red light years ago. And while I'm getting a ticket, all the people from the church are driving by, beeping their horns.

What's up, Pastor? Hey.

And my daughter says, dad. I'm like, yeah. She says, are you getting spanked right now? I'm like, yes. She says, does it hurt?

I said, yeah, about a hundred bucks worth of hurt. She said, okay. Praying for you.

Let not the king sin. Verse 4, 1st Samuel. Look in your Bibles. On your devices, however you're looking. New King James, 1st Samuel 19, verse 4b.

Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he's not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good towards you. For he took his life in his hands and killed the Philistine. And the Lord brought about a great deliverance for Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. See, because the king's demonized.

And sometimes people don't see things correctly and they get skewed. So thank God for somebody, a covenant relationship. Here David is. He's got a friend who's saying, now wait a second. Your.

Your. Your vision is skewed. There's something wrong, dad. King. There's something wrong.

Aren't you glad for people like that? Do you have anybody like that? Somebody's gotta hold your shut up card. If you don't have somebody that holds your shut up card, you're gonna be shut up by something else. And it might.

And it might be bad. Everyone has to have a covenant relationship. Men with men, women with women. Covenant. The highest level, of course, is with God, and after that is marriage.

But thank God for relationships where people will speak truth to you. Listen, if you got a piece of lettuce flapping out of your tea, you know what I mean? Like a nasty thing in your. Don't you glad for somebody? Go.

Some of you have that spiritually.

So he's convincing. We've been very good to you. Saw it and rejoiced. And listen to this question. Why then will you sin against innocent blood to kill David without cause?

So Saul heeded the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore. Demonize people that swear.

As the Lord lives, his word's not good because he's a liar. As the Lord lives, he shall not be killed. Then Jonathan called David and told him these things. So Jonathan brought David to Saul. He was.

In his presence, as in times past. It's bold and risky to take the cause of someone, but thank God for people to do it.

Let not the king sin. Wow. Saul renewed his. His fervor for killing David later on. 1st Samuel 19, verse 8.

Listen to this. There's war again. 1st Samuel 19, verse eight. And David went out and fought with the Philistines and struck them with a mighty blow. What kind of a blow?

A mighty blow. So here he is, he goes out to war, and he has this amazing success again. And when the amazing success comes, the king's like, oh, I hate that kid. It just stirs up all this. And what's fascinating to me, the news of David's fresh victory stirs Saul's jealousy.

Listen closely. To open a door for an evil spirit to afflict Saul again. Some of you have been set free. Don't go back to a yoke of slavery. Don't go back to your old life.

Don't go back to your old anger. Don't go back to your old lust. Don't go back to your old greed. Don't do it. Don't open the door to the enemy.

It's bad for you. And here's what I've found. That when you do that. Have you done that? Yeah, I have.

And when you do it, you. You you give back ground that you once took. It's harder to take that ground the next time. There's an intro that get. The Things can get entrenched.

They open a door to an evil spirit. An afflicted Saul. Wow.

Fanning his jealousy into flames, David played music again. And Saul tries to pin him to a wall. I've seen people like that. They have just these fits of rage. I even think it might be a demon of rage.

So is it or isn't it? I don't know. That's discernment. Sometimes I think I'm discerning something correctly and find out that I'm wrong. I don't know.

Just anger, uncontrolled anger is. Is not good. And so he. Saul gets so frustrated. There's David.

Can you imagine? I love you, Lord, and I live my voice to worship you. And then here's the king over here. Oh, I hate that guy. He just throws his spear at him.

I mean, what a psycho.

And David's like, huh. Missed.

You want to see that again? I'm not going to do that again.

My wife said to me years ago, she said, there's certain things you shouldn't do. It's just. It's not good. You should just go like this. It's just.

Okay.

Mikhail also intervened in the life of David in verse 11 through 17. Mikal. Thank you. 11 through 17. And it's a section of Scripture that bothers me.

So we're talking about David. He's on the way to fulfillment. And there's all kinds of persecution and trials. That's the way it is. Everybody say, that's the way it is.

Okay.

Jonathan protects him. Mikhail, his wife protects him. He's in the royal court. Verse 11. Saul also sent messengers to David's house to watch him, to kill him in the morning.

Nice. And Mikhail, David's wife, told him, saying, if I do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you'll be killed. So Mikhail let David down through a window. This is verse 12 of. Of 1st Samuel 19.

And he fled and escaped. Verse 13. Look closely.

Syncretism. And Mikael took an image and laid it in a bed. And. What image? It's an idol.

They had idols. I mean, does that bother you? God's covenant. People have idols. It's a mixture.

It's a sinking. It's kind of like what some of you have.

You know, you serve the Lord, but then you go and get your. You look at the. You read the astrology chart. You little syncretism person. You listen.

Don't Go. Don't go reading your. Your horoscope. You should get a key from the word horror.

How many people read their. Don't. For God's sake, don't raise your hand. Let me just stick a fork in your syncretism. You serve God.

You don't read a horoscope. Don't look all the stars. When rightly. When rightly viewed through it. Through it, an educated mind.

Show the gospel. Actually, there are people that read. They will not get out of bed until they read their horoscope. There are people that, that throw bones. There are people that read the I Ching.

There are people that do all kinds of mixture and, and say they love God. Let me just. Can you hear me? Read my white lips. If you have a mixture of your.

Of this walk with Jesus, you're going to have a jacked up life. You mean tarot cards are bad? Yes, anything that's an idol is bad. Bump your neighbor and say every idol is bad.

And so it's crazy that she, she's got idols in the house. They were like lucky charms kind of thing. I mean, you can go study it. But Israel was backslidden, and Samuel really brought revival. You can see the same mixture.

God's covenant, people struggling with syncretism, a mixing of worship of false idols along with the worship of God. And you see it in Judges 17, you see in Judges 2. You see it throughout Scripture. So she puts this image in a bed. Did anybody do that?

When you're a kid, you snuck out of your house. I didn't ever do this, but I think my brothers did. I'd have to ask my mom, but they, they, they prompt the bed and put some pillows. So when you look in, you're like, oh, he's sleeping, but he's not there. He went through the window.

So that, that's what. That's all you kids. Don't get any ideas.

And she takes, she takes something and makes it look like his. This image is in this bed. This idol is under the blankets and puts this sheep, you know, hair and all the whole thing says he's sick. And David. Saul's like, okay, bring sick David to me so I can kill him.

I mean, like, literally, he wants him dead. And they go and discover that he's gone. Amazing. So David flees. And where does he go now?

This is, this is. This part I love. And I'll be landing the plane with this right here. First Samuel 19. Look with me, everybody.

Turn in your device. Turn in your Bibles. 1st Samuel 19. Go down to verse 18.

So David fled and escaped, and he went to Samuel at Rama Arama. Is it Rama or Raymond? Huh? Pastor Karen, which one is it? I don't know.

All right. R A M A H. And told him all that Saul had done. So he runs back to the one who anointed him. Man, this is a smart move. He goes back to his pastor.

He goes back to his leader. He goes back to the prophet and says, he's psycho. And I'm. I'm sure, I'm sure Samuel's like, I know he's been rejected. He's demonized.

You're gonna be the next king. He's trying to kill me. Yes, he's trying to kill you. You're gonna be all right. God's with you.

God's anointed you. So he's talking to him. He never again appears in Saul's court.

Told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel. So they leave now, and they stayed at Nioth. And it was told Saul, taking note, David is in Nile. So now somebody goes and tells.

David tells, pardon me, Saul the psychopath rejected King David, your son in law, is in Nioth with the prophet. So Saul is like, oh, let's go kill him. Go down to verse 18. Verse 20. Go to verse 20.

Then Saul sent messengers to take Dave, to take. To take David. And when they saw the group of prophets prophesying and Samuel standing as leader over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul. And they also prophesied. This is a powerful picture of what I want to call the secret place, of what I want to call a regional outpouring.

Listen close. There's something about when God's power begins to rest on a people. And I believe we're moving into that. I. I believe that's been happening for years, but we're going to another level. There's something about a region, a territory.

And you can see in scripture, there's places where God just poured out his spirit. Come on. The holy of holies was where God's power was. His presence was. And there's moments where God, when he gets a bunch of people to lean in, when he gets a bunch of people that are hungry and thirsty, he begins to rest on a region.

Rest on. I believe that's beginning to happen in Alaska. I believe that's happening in other parts of the nation. I believe it's happening all around the world. But God is looking for people to fall on, to fill.

I've had over and over testimonies of people said, when I rolled onto the parking lot, I felt something different. I've. We've had people walk in the double doors and instantly have their anxiety gone, instantly feel joy.

Even though Israel's God's covenant people, they reportedly struggle with syncretism and mixing of this worship of Yahweh and other practices. But here is not a mixture. Here is genuine love of God and the power of God falling. And these who come to take David, I mean, they're really, they're messengers and delivery boys of the enemy. Verse 21.

They, they begin to prophesy. Verse 21. When Saul was told he sent other messengers and they prophesied likewise. So two different parties come, they walk into the power of like a cloud of the presence of the Lord and they begin to prophesy. You know, it's relatively easy to prophesy in this environment right here.

You prophesy at home, begin to bring the word of the Lord in places where you're maybe not accepted, where people aren't playing harps and singing sweet songs to Jesus. It's a little bit different.

So now Saul hears about it. Verse 22. Look at verse 22. Then he that Saul went to. I'll go with that.

Rama.

And he came to the great wells and set you. So he asked and said, where is Samuel and David? And someone said, indeed they're at Niof at Rama. Verse 23. He went there to Nioth at Rama, and the Spirit of God was upon him also.

And he went and prophesied. Now this is someone who's been rejected by God and He's prophesying. Verse 24. He stripped off his clothes and he prophesied before Samuel. The stripping off of his clothes is a picture of being rejected.

The spirit who had anointed David for kingship, now preserved David for his divine assignment. And you can't touch him. I mean, what do you, what do you do about that? You go to get him. I mean, the king, the army comes and even the army can't do anything.

Nobody can do anything. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's exactly right. When God before you even makes your enemies to be at peace, if God is with you, you're going to make it. Years ago I had my next door neighbor who was hurling curses and doing all kinds of vile things to.

Towards my home and threatening to hurt the neighbor that lived underneath me. An elderly woman, my wife, told me me about it. I raced home to beat him. I was having a bad day in ministry. Don't look at me like that.

Some of you felt that way. I just said, I'm going to minister to him with the fivefold. I'm going to help him. I was mad. I wasn't actually planning on hitting him.

But part of me hoped that in my confrontation, he would hit me and I would destroy him. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Anybody else ever felt that way? I'm just being honest with you. Come on.

I show up at home. Karen's crying. My neighbor is terrified. And the kids have heard curses. The first curse words heard from this uncircumcised Philistine across the street that I tried to witness to.

And they hated me. I walk outside. Karen's praying. She tells me everything. I'm like, that's it.

I go downstairs, go down. This year, as soon as I cross over the threshold of my door, I walked into some sort of a cloud. I don't even know how to describe it. I instantly went, like, dumb. Everything's slow motion.

I'm walking out, and this man runs at me with a pickaxe. You know, usually if someone's coming at you with a pickaxe, you'd probably do something to prepare yourself. But in this case, he's running at me, and I'm seeing him, and it's like, he's coming with a pickaxe. Slow mo. And he brings that thing back, and he goes to hit me with it.

And I'm just standing there like, I'm going to take it right to the head. I'm like, duh. And literally, what happened is he comes and he goes and falls over. He falls over, he's crying, and he crawls to the curb. And I'm sitting there going, what just happened?

It's God fighting your battles for you. When you're with God and he's with you and you're walking in divine step, Come on. He'll. He'll protect you. Even the army can't get a hold of David.

Why? Because he's on a divine assignment. The spirit who had anointed David for kingship now preserved him in his divine assignment. The same spirit that did it in first Samuel will do it for you. He'll protect you.

He'll lead you. He'll guide you. He'll direct you. And it doesn't matter. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

Hallelujah. Every tongue that rises against you, you shall condemn. Come on.

My God, I just preached myself happy.

Saul laying naked, taking off his royal robes in God's presence is signifying his rejected he's rejected as king. Niof is saturated with the activity of the spirit, just like this place is and will be as we remain faithful, just like your home is. My home is divinely protected. My whole street is supernaturally protected. You said, seriously?

Oh, yeah.

I think everybody on our street's born again now.

And three quarters of them are in the church here by an act of God, sovereignly. I used to stand. I remember on that very same street, Jehovah's Witnesses would pull up and they get out of their car with their kids and their. Their New World translations and their pamphlets, and I'd say, hey. I was out on a porch, and they like looking around.

I'm like, right here. I said, hi. They're like, hi. I said, yeah, it's my street.

Oh, well, we're gonna. No, no, no. It's my street. I got all these. Don't come down here.

It's my street. They're like, oh. And they got in their car and they drove away.

Now, it could have been kinder maybe, but there's an ownership. Have an ownership for your street. Have an ownership for your home. Have an ownership for your kids. Every single family member in my family is going to serve God.

Every single one's going to be born again, filled with the spirit. All my aunts, all my uncles, all my brothers, all my sisters, all their children, all the grandchildren, every single one going to serve God. Not one's going to hell? No, not one. Why?

Because I'm laying claim. I'm standing on God's word. Pray anything in accordance with his will, it shall be done. It is God's will for your whole family to be saved, healed, sanctified, set on fire, walking in the spirit. Come on, somebody say amen.

Nioth is saturated with the activity of the spirit. Your home could be a nio off if you get rid of your tarot cards and your syncretism and your mixture and doubt. And we're all in process. We're all in process, people hosting the presence of the Lord. Are you hosting God's presence in your house?

Four times they tried that. David's tried to. They tried to kill David. He escaped. Actually, I think it's a total of six times King Saul.

And each time, God. God gave him a way out. Covenant relationship. Jonathan, his wife. Hallelujah.

Even though she lied and had idols. And. And then later on, he runs to the prophet and God's spirit supernaturally protects him in this place called Niof because there was people there that were contained, attending. It's a school of the prophets. They're prophesying, they're believing God, and they're.

They're praying. There was a prophetic alignment under Samuel.

You need to have a revelation of authority, the authority of God's word and his right structure and alignment. It's so important to have a home, church. It's so important to have a pastor. So important to be submitted one to another in love. I don't make decisions all on my own.

I'm in agreement with my wife in every decision. Everyone. We don't do things out of agreement. Is that not right, Pastor Karen? It is the truth.

Anything else you want to share about that? No, we're in agreement. If she doesn't agree, then we're not doing it. Well, sometimes I hear from God and my wife doesn't hear. And, you know, she's you.

Did you marry her? Okay, then. Then you pray that God would align your life. Quit scratching yourself and saying your wife doesn't hear from God. Maybe she's saving you from your stupidity.

Your great plan goes both ways, Pastor Karen. Help me preach. Goes both ways.

Don't ask me to pick the color of your couch or your house. I'll pray with you. You be led by the Spirit. Can I get it? Amen.

David's cry to God on this occasion is written in Psalm 59. And that is one of the things I love about this study because it begins to weave in these psalms. And let me just read you a little bit of some will conclude verse 1, Psalm 59. Deliver me from my enemies, my God. He wrote this on the occasion.

Turn to Psalm 59. Matthew, Mark, Luke, Psalms.

Okay.

Psalm 59. To the Chief musician. You see that in your Bible? You know why it's in your Bible like that? To the chief musician.

You see that? Raise your hand if you see it. Okay. It's because it's in the original Hebrew. So this is.

This is how we know this is Written to the chief musician, sent to not, do not destroy is what it's called. Mishra of David. Saul sent men when they watched a house in order to kill him. Which is the text that we just read. Verse 1.

Deliver me from my enemies, my God, defend me from those who rise up against me. Me. I mean, that's a great prayer. Why don't you pray it right now? Deliver me from my enemies, oh God, defend me from those who rise up against me.

What a great prayer. Look at verse three. I'm just going to look at a few verses. The whole thing is great.

For look, they lie in wait. For my life. The mighty gather against me. Not for my transgression nor my sin, O Lord, they run. Verse 4.

And prepare themselves, prepare themselves. Throw no fault of mine awake to help me. Go to verse seven. Swords are in their lips, for they say. Who hears verse eight?

But you, O Lord, shall laugh at them.

You shall have all the nations in derision.

Verse 9. I will wait for you, O Lord. I will wait for you, O you. His strength. For my God is my defense.

My God of mercy shall come and meet me, oh, so powerful. Verse 16. I will sing of your power. I will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning. For you have been my defense and my refuge in my trouble.

Verse 17. To you my strength, oh, I will sing praises. For God is my defense. My God of mercy. There's so much there.

It's one of the keys of the anointing, is taking your struggle in your situation and turning it to God.

You've got a promise. You have a prophetic destiny like David to become king. But, oh, the persecution and the trials. And I don't like them, but I love what they do for me. Because they put something in you that cannot be put in you.

David is in the school like a gentleman that I used to listen to before he backslid. He said it this way. I just like this phrase. He's in the seminary of Saul. You are in a seminary.

And there's difficulties and there's people that don't like you. But God loves you and sent his only begotten Son. And you've believed on him and he's got a plan. And if you'll be like those at Nioth who lean in and host his presence and don't have a single syncretism, but. But have a unity in a.

Of heart and mind. And. And get rid of your idols. Get rid of your. Come on.

Get rid of your I Ching book. Get. Get rid of your horoscope. Get rid of that stuff and go after God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and all your strength. God's power will come on you and you will fulfill the plan.

Just like David becomes king eventually. It took him a little while because I think he had some things in him he had to get worked out. Anybody else besides me having some stuff worked out? Welcome to Christianity. Real Christianity changes.

Real Christianity confronts. Real Christianity deals with the hard issues of life, talks to God, works it out, becomes more like Jesus and lives a lifestyle of repentance and has power. Let me say that again. Real Christianity has power. It's not just a TED Talk, for God sake.

It's power over darkness, power over demons. It's power to set the captives free. It's power. Come on, lift your hands to Jesus. The sacred place.

The sacred place. That's the key to walking in power, is getting in the secret place to die out.
