Understanding the Concept of Blood

Are you all there? In the book of Exodus, Chapter 12, and from verse 12, let's all stand for the reading of God's word.

All right, are you ready? All right, good. I'm so glad. Exodus, chapter 12. Go to verse 12.

Here we go. For I will pass through the land of Egypt. Wow, that sounds ominous. I'll pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and I will strike all the firstborn land of Egypt, both man and beast. And against all the gods of Egypt, I will execute my judgment.

I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be assigned for you. Come on, say that with me. Now the blood shall be assigned for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood.

Come on, read with me. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt, pray. Father, thank you. Move in power in Jesus name. Amen.

If you go to the book of Genesis, chapter three. Let me give you the exact verse, Genesis 3. You'll see in verse 21, the fall of man has happened. How many Raise your hand if you know what the fall of man is? That's where mankind rejected the commandment of God and took from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

And in doing so, their eyes were opened and they were separated from God because of their sin. It's interesting to me. It's a lot of interesting things about it. In the Garden of Eden, there's yet everything, and yet they chose to sin. So if you think you just need this and then you'll stop disobeying, you're wrong.

It's a choice to obey. And they chose to disobey.

And in doing so, dying, they. They died. The death process began. Creation was cursed. And you can read the curse that comes down from Lord because of their disobedience right there in Genesis chapter 3 in verse 21, it says, also for Adam and his wife, the Lord God made tunics of skin and he clothed them.

So they didn't know they were naked before they disobeyed. But then afterwards, they realized they were naked, their eyes were open, and the Lord covered them. Everybody say that the Lord, the Lord covered them. Now, I can't prove it, but If I could just take a little bit of liberty. I think they were covered with lambskins.

And the reason I say that is because you see throughout Scripture this what I call the scarlet thread of the blood and the blood of the lamb. All throughout Scripture.

And of course it is a type and shadow. Types and shadows are literary terms that these types of shadows mean something else. First of all, let me say that in this text said, who covered them? The Lord covered them. Who covered them?

The Lord. So they tried to cover themselves with fig leaves, but fig leaves don't work. Fig leaves are a picture of religion. Fig leaves are a picture of your own righteousness. No matter what you do, you're not covered.

You surrender your body to the flames. Give all that you have to the poor, it will not cover you. It doesn't get your sins forgiven. There's only one thing that can forgive you of sin. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

This starts really, this starts right here. What's called the sacrificial system begins here. We can conclude from the verses that talk about Cain and Abel and how Cain gave what he wanted to, but Abel gave us what what was required. He gave some of the first born of the flock. Cain gave a fruit basket.

Abel gave a sacrificed animal.

So I'm going to take you on just a little bit of a journey, which I've done before with the congregation. But many people don't understand it. About the blood, about the lamb, about Passover. I'm a tied into New Testament understanding and give you promises that come from the Passover, which really starts tonight, which is literally the time that God's Lamb, the Lamb of God was slain.

Blood and Scripture understanding the concept of the blood. In Genesis chapter nine and verse four, it says, but you must not eat meat that has the lifeblood still in it. The concept given to Noah as he comes off of the boat. Really, it's like a. All of creations wiped out, flooded.

These are the only living creatures now. Noah begins like a brand new. He's like the next Adam. If you will be fruitful and multiply, some of the same things that God said to Noah, he said to Adam and he says to Noah, be fruitful, multiply, don't eat the blood. Everybody say, don't drink blood, don't drink blood.

In Acts 15 it talks about that not drinking blood. Go to Leviticus, chapter 17 and verse 11 on the screen now. But the life of the creature is in the blood.

And I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement. For your souls. For it is the blood that makes atonement for your soul. Stop. Atonement, the Anglo Saxon word at it.

It's really to define it. It's at one men to make one with. So literally, Leviticus is pointing back to the blood that's from the garden. And then afterwards, Cain and Abel and so on and so on, that the blood was given to wipe out that which would separate you from being united with God. Atonement.

Leviticus 17:12. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, no one among you shall eat the blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells in you, with you, or any in you eat the blood or among you eat the blood. So it's under. It's. It's understood from the Old Testament that life is sacred and blood represents life.

Say with me, life is sacred and. And blood represents life.

The original Passover was a prophetic shadow of Jesus sacrifices, his ultimate sacrifice. The blood would in the Old Testament make atonement for, or cleanse them of their sin. The day of atonement was one day. Paul called it the fast. The fast in the book of Acts is also the day of atonement.

They would fast on the day of atonement one day a year. How many days? One day a year. The high priest would go in a very prescribed way to sprinkle the blood of a lamb in a. In a very prescribed way to bring atonement, to bring cleansing for his sin, the sins of the nation.

And he would sprinkle it on the mercy seat that's in the holy of holies. And I'm simplifying it greatly. The mercy seat is between the two cherubim, the ark of the covenant.

Moses made the ark in a very prescribed way and the tabernacle based upon that which he saw in heaven. And you'll see that he. It's a replica. Everybody say a replica. Nevertheless, God dwelt there.

There is amazing parallels, Passover parallels. If you look with me now, we didn't read all of these verses, but I'll reference them. Take your Bibles, Exodus, chapter 12.

You're to take a lamb without blemish so you don't get like a cheesy, nasty lamb.

It had to be perfect. It had to be without blemish. It wasn't the run. It was like a nice lamb. Get it?

Get a good. Everybody say, get a good one.

And Jesus is called the Lamb of God. Who's without sin. The Lamb without sin. In the New Testament, in Exodus 12 and 3, take a Lamb of the first month of the tenth day. Guess what time.

Guess when Jesus was crucified. First month, tenth day today in the Hebrew calendar. Wow. Take from among you, verse 5. The sheep and the goats.

Jesus was taken among them from the righteous. Among the righteous and the sinners. Lamb was killed on the 14th day of the month. That's Exodus 12:6. Again.

Jesus killed the same time. Lamb was killed at the evening. Exodus 12:6 as well. Guess when Jesus was killed. Crucified between three and six in the evening.

The blood was placed in three places on the door, the door posts and the lentils. Guess what that makes. What does that make? 1, 2, 3. It really is a picture of the cross.

Three crosses also. On Golgotha, the blood was to protect you from the destroyer. Verse 13 of Exodus 12. And Jesus blood defeats Satan. Can I get a better Amen to be remembered from generation to generation.

I didn't read that. But it's in memorial. It should be celebrated over and over and over. So really, tonight we're celebrating Passover. Now, the Gregorian calendar, which is what we are on, does not match with the Hebrew calendar.

Sometimes they sync up, and that's when Passover and Easter on the same day, but not this year.

Come on. Somebody say, wow.

When John the Baptist saw Jesus, what did he say? Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Now, anybody listening to John the Baptist back then understood what he was saying. They understood. Those who understood Scripture, understood the Old Testament, understood that the Lamb of God, this is God's Lamb.

This is the Messiah, the suffering servant of Isaiah 53. When you look in the book of Luke, chapter one, the angels come and they visit the. They visit the shepherds. And it's glory to God of the highest. We usually preach it and teach it during Christmas time.

Glory to God of the highest. And he gives him instruction and says, you will go. This will be a sign unto you. A what? A sign.

Everybody say it's a sign. A sign unto you. And you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths. That's the property word there. The NIV changes it.

Shock, shock. The King James, the new King James does a good job swaddling cloths. So who does he reveal himself to? The angels reveal themselves to shepherds. What kind of shepherds were they?

Oh, I know, Pastor. Also, they're Levitical shepherds. What do you mean, levitical? They were shepherds that raised sheep. For what?

For sacrifice. Even for the Day of Atonement. So here you are outside of Bethlehem. These Shepherds were under the employment of the temple. Is anybody else listening?

They're under the employment of the Temple. They're raising lambs for the temple. Now we read here that you. A lamb without blemish, right? That is part of Levitical law that when they sacrificed a lamb, it had to be without blemish.

Well, if you've ever been to Bethlehem, the hike up to Jerusalem, where the temple was, is through rocky ground. They didn't carry those things. They certainly didn't have a Cummins pickup truck and a trailer. They had to basically lead these lambs and these sheep up to the Temple Mount. And one of the things they would do is they would take cloths and wrap the legs of the lambs so that when they came up through that rocky terrain all the way up to the temple, they had no mars, they had no cuts on their legs, which is what would happen.

And they were wrapped in these swaddling lambs brought for the sacrifice. Wrapped in swaddling cloth is actually what it is. Hold on, before you start shouting or something. If you were a Jew traveling 100 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem, you would carry your grave clothes with you. Grave clothes are also called swaddling cloths.

And Mary and, and Joseph traveling a hundred miles at that time. Come on. They didn't jump in their Escalade, you guys. Come on.

They, they had a donkey and they, they rode, she rode. They got their hundred mile journey. Very. There's marauders. It's dangerous.

And for a Jew, if you and your body lay on the top of the soil, uncovered, unwrapped and unprepared, it was considered a curse. They would literally carry their grave clothes with them, sometimes tied around their waist. You can read Albert, I think Edersham's Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah. There's different things you can read to find it, get insights. So when the, when these angels show up to Levitical shepherds who are raising lambs for the sacrifice, they say it'll be a sign to you.

You'll find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths. It's a significant sign. Jesus is the lamb. Come on, somebody say, he's the lamb. He's the lamb.

Every. There was one lamb for every household. You can read it. And the whole meal and everything they put together all has great significance. A Passover meal.

And all over the world, people are eating a Passover meal. It's called Pesach. It also means covering Psalm 90, Psalm 91, some 92, written by Moses and talks a Little bit about that. It is some.91. I always saw that David wrote Psalm 91.

David didn't write Psalm 91. Moses did. You go read that With a fresh perspective on Moses and the Passover powerful Pesach is covering. Come on, lift your hands to Jesus. Say, oh, you cover me.

In times of storm, you can make it because God has covered you. He's made a way for you. He makes a way out of no way, brings streams in the desert. He makes a wilderness, a pool. Can I get a yes and an amen?

So Passover is a big deal. Very big deal. Seven Passover promises.

Now, I know some of you. I referenced it, that I had this encounter with the Lord about Passover. It was like. It was like I was there and I heard the sound of. I heard the sound of death.

And I could feel the fear and the awe as death passed over my house because I'm covered in the blood. I felt it. It was. It was. It was fearsome.

Awesome.

And I knew that I would share this tonight from that experience. Exodus 23. We're going to look at verse 20 to 22 and I want you to take this and break it down with me, because these are promises that are given after I call them Passover promises. They're really promises given to those who keep the feast. Now listen, you don't need to keep the feast to make yourself righteous.

But come on, somebody say, Ben, what makes you righteous? The blood of Jesus makes you righteous. It's an imputed righteousness. And when you get a hold of what that means, then you actually start living, right? When you understand who.

What he's done for you, it changes you, changes the way that you think and your behavior will change when you really have a revelation of what he's done for you. You know, I had a. An encounter this week that really shook me. Without giving you the details because it's private. I was shaken, realizing what God had saved me from all those years ago.

Like 30 years ago. I was reminded of what it was like to be without him. I felt it for a minute. I was reminded of what it was like to be under the curse. I was reminded of what it was like to be broken and desperate and lonely and hopeless and suicidal with no way out and no hope.

I remember what that's like. You know? You know something. Don't ever forget what he delivered you from. Because if you do.

Come on. If you forget that, it's on. Spiritual amnesia, it's a recipe for disaster. You ought to remember how he saved you. How he healed you, how he set you free.

You ought to remember all that he's done. Come on. Can I get an amen? Remember. Don't ever forget.

In fact, that's what some of the. That's what the feasts are about. They're prophetic declarations, like we're about to see here, like I've shown you already in these promises. But it's also about remembering. Remembering how he provided.

Remembering how he brought you through. Remember? Remember?

And I walked around for the next 24 hours or so, on and off, weeping. I said to my wife, oh, my God, he saved us. He saved you. You were messed up.

Come on, bump your neighbor and say, I think you might have been messed up, too. Everyone's messed up. Even if they look good. Even they look good. You are not good.

None are good. All of sin and fallen short of the glory of God. But the gift of God is eternal life. He makes you a new creation. He takes out the heart of stone and he puts in a heart of flesh.

He changes you.

All right, so these promises you see in Exodus, chapter 2320-22, let's go ahead and read them. Behold, I send an angel before you to keep the. Keep you in the way. Everybody say, keep you in the way. Keep you in the way and bring you to the place which I have prepared for you.

Beware of Him. Yeah. And obey his voice did not provoke him. Who will not pardon your transgression, for My name is in Him. There's so much here that I will not be able to touch.

Wow. Verse 22. But if you indeed obey his voice and all that I speak, that I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. For My angel will go before you and bring you into the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. And I will cut them off.

Everybody say, he's going to cut them off. I will cut them off. Verse 24. And you shall not bow down to their gods or serve them, nor do according to their works, but you shall utterly. Over I like that.

Utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. Verse 25. So you shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. And no one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in the land.

I will fulfill the number of your days. Verse 27. I will send my fear before you and cause Confusion among all the people to whom you come. And I'll make all your enemies turn their backs on you. Verse 28.

And I will send hornets. Dude, I happen to know that's no fun right there. I'll send hornets before you. I tried to quote this scripture to my bees, but I don't. I just don't think they know this verse.

Send hornets before you. And I shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite and the Hittite from before you. And I will drive them out from before you. And in one year, unless the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you, little by little I will drive them out. Everybody say that.

Little by little I will drive them out. Some of you want the whole enchilada now you got to just be faithful with eating the. The appetizer and you move in. Soon you get the whole enchilada. If he gave you the whole enchilada, you just fall over.

Does anybody understand what I'm saying? He gives it to you little by little so you can learn to handle it, manage it. I don't really like that. I want the whole thing all at once. But God knows better.

Father knows best. Can you say about little by little? I drive them out from before you until you have increased and inherit the land. And I will set the bounds of the Red Sea, Philistia, from the desert to the river. And I will deliver you the inhabitants of the land into your hand.

And you shall drive them out before you. Verse 32. And you shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in your land unless they make you sin against me. For if you serve their gods, it will utterly snare you.

Wow, so much here that even applies to what's taking place in Israel today. First, promise. God will assign an angel to prepare the way for you. Oh, my goodness. Come on.

Somebody gotta say. I've got. I'll have an angel that leads me. Yeah, you have the Holy Spirit. But there is angelic help.

And I've. I've started the study on angels. And as I get through it and prepare it, I'll preach it to you. It'll be a little minute. Incredible.

Angels are real, demons are real. And there is supernatural leading that'll come from those who. Who honor the Passover, if I can say it that way. And it's. It's all the feast.

But understand again, there are types and shadows of the greater thing to come in. And the Passover is truly found in Jesus. And Jesus Alone. He is the Lamb of God, and you live for him. You love him.

God will assign an angel to you to prepare the way for you. You'll have divine guidance. It's true gps, God's positioning system. You thought it was global positioning, but when you really serve God, you'll have God positioning. Come on.

He said, somebody say I got the true gps. Baby.

Years ago, I was endeavoring to visit my children. These are children from my previous marriage. I was married before I got born again, and I have two daughters. Was in process of trying to get visitation rights a long, long time ago. One day you'll meet them.

Amen.

We were blocked from seeing them on that particular day. I stayed up the night before. All night. All night I cried and prayed and interceded. I just wanted to see my kids pride.

And cried and prayed, interceded. We were supposed to just go off to San Francisco and catch a plane. But I felt like, you know what, let's get up early and let's just go drive through their hometown. And the instruction I felt like I had was to take a giant quart of oil to drive through the intersection where their home was, stop in the middle of the intersection and dump the whole thing while praying in my heavenly language. And I did it.

I made a giant grease puddle in the middle of that intersection. And people waiting for us to get out of the way. Pastor Karen praying in emergency tongues.

And my. I don't know. In my mind I thought, you know what's going to happen? They're going to drive through that intersection because everybody's got to go through it. And they're going to go home.

And the oil will spray up from the wheels onto the handrails. They will touch the handrail and they'll get touched by God. And God's going to heal everything. Come on. Somebody say, man, my faith is sky high.

After I dumped that, we drove off and I did a U turn and I felt instead of to go to the airport, we still had time. I. I just felt like I was supposed to go left. Anybody know what I'm talking about? So I went left and we got to a stop sign, felt like I should go take a ride. And we, we drove and we're praying in the spirit and just kind of worshiping.

We had no idea where we're going. We wound up finding their school. I had no idea where they went to school. There it was when we saw the name of the school. Karen says, oh, my God, that's their school.

And I said, oh, my goodness. We pulled in. It's a longer story, but I got to see my kids. I was divinely guided by God. God will give you divine guidance.

And it's not just. It's not just being at the right place at the right time. It's divine guidance. Like he'll speak to you about circumstances and situations. He will talk to you.

God's power will come upon you. He'll give you divine. If you need divine guidance, lift your hands and say, oh, God, hook me up. He'll be an enemy to your enemies. Verse 22.

If you obey his voice and all that I speak, then I'll be an enemy to your enemies. I remember loading sod. How many of you know what sod is? It's grass. We don't have too much of that around here right now.

Loading a sod container to go off to Kwajalen for the military. Building a golf course on Kwajalen.

And as I'm putting this sod in, I had this one roll of sod that just kept rolling off. I was in a forklift. I kept throwing it back up and I kept coming down. It kept throwing it back up and I started getting irritated. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

You're trying to fix somebody keep. I mean, like five times it's fallen down already. And I'm like, okay, you're going to get it now, you know? And I get up there and shove this sod in. And when I do that, I feel like somebody pushed me in my chest, pushed me back.

And I thought, that's weird. I go to move forward and I'm pushed back again. And I now have the fear of the Lord. Now I understand what that is now then less so. But it wasn't fear like the devil.

It was fear like, get out of here, God. So I just felt like, okay. And then I got pushed one more time. Okay, okay, okay. I walked out.

The moment my foot came out of that container onto that loading dock, the whole thing flipped straight up on end. It was a shorty and I had front loaded it and I made a mistake. My head would have ricocheted off the top of that thing and you wouldn't be hearing me preach to you right now if God didn't protect me. He. He.

He's an enemy to your enemy. Enemy wants to kill you once. It wants you to stay. Steal. He wants to steal from you.

He wants to destroy you. A promise, a Passover promise is he'll be an enemy to your enemies. It's a beautiful thing. If you'll just allow God to fix someone's wagon. To quote my mama.

Because when God fixes somebody's wagon, honey, the wagon's fixed. Come on. Somebody say yes. How many of you have some people that need their wagon fixed? Lift your hand, Father, we pray.

Fix their wagon in Jesus.

God will give you all that you need. Everybody say, he'll give me all that I need. You find that.

Find that in verse 25. He'll bless your bread and your water. That's divine provision. Divine provision. We're.

We're not new to that here. We're completely dependent on divine provision. How many of you depended on divine provision? God, supernatural provision? It's a promise.

It's a promise for those who serve God, love God. Old Testament. Yes, but you can take it. New Testament application, for sure. Come on.

He'll. He'll bless you. Come on. Somebody say, he'll bless me. Yeah, you'll have all that you need.

You know, I was so encouraged. I had one of the most intense days of ministry.

A day or so ago.

I had a child that had died preparing a funeral. Had a family that are part of the church. His brother was shot and killed. Somebody else decided to backslide to hell trying to help them. Another terrible story of marriage and difficulty with that.

Then I had a house blessing. All in the middle of the day, and I go to the house blessing. How many of you know what a house blessing is? That's where you. You.

You just bless the house. You get a new home. You have a little party and pray and bless and put oil on the door posts, and you just pray a blessing over the house, and you rebuke any evil or sin that might have taken place there. You pray a breaking off of defilement. You just bless the home.

It's a godly thing to do. And in fact, that's how I met you. You called the church. Man, that is like 18 years ago. You called the church and you said, can you please do a house blessing?

And I said, yes. I came over there, met you, met your whole family. And I remember very, very clearly getting everybody in the living room and. And I said, is it okay if I just go for it? She said, you go, pastor.

I said, all right. I've never met you before. You said, you go for it. You called, you said, everybody. Grandma got everybody in the room, and I led everybody in the sinner's prayer.

The whole house, the whole family prayed the sinner's prayer. And you've been a part of the church from that day. Come on, somebody say, praise the Lord. So I went to this house blessing. And this precious lady says to me, it's the first house we've ever owned.

I thought, thank God. Some good news. Glory, I said. I said, it might in my heart. I said, thank.

Thank you. It's a difficult day. Up to that point. She said, no one in their family has ever owned a home. And she said, you know what this is?

The curse of poverty's broken off of my family. And I said, amen. We prayed and blessed that thing. Come on. The curse of poverty is broken, poverty and lack.

You don't live here. This is a place of blessing, a place of provision. God is a provider. Is that a prosperity gospel? Well, it sure ain't a poverty gospel, you knucklehead.

Yeah, God wants to bless you. Come on, somebody say he wants to bless me. Do you have to be so loud? I don't know. It's pretty exciting.

Good news. Good news to the poor means you don't have to be po no more. Come on, somebody.

The greatest thing is being broken. Your spirit. That's terrible. I don't mean broken before God, but I mean like. Like I was talking about myself all those years ago.

He gives you what you need. And I will tell you, listen closely to me, oh, you poverty irritated person.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. True riches come from heaven. It's having a right heart. It's. It's having peace with God.

It's. It's fulfilling the divine purpose and plan for your life. It's in the end that when you stand before him, you hear. When you. What do you hear when you stand before him?

Well done. Thy good and faithful servant. Oh, hallelujah. Can you say that again? I'm just going to pretend you said it to me.

Go ahead. No, I'm just teasing.

That's the definition of success, that you're before the throne. It's over. You're at the judgment seat of Christ. And he says, well done. Not well.

What happened?

How many of you know God's a Jew? If you didn't get that, let's just keep moving on.

Lift your hands to Jesus.

God will give me all that I need. Say it. God will give me all that I need. Next. Promise.

God will take sickness from you. This comes right from the text. God will take sickness from you. Verse 25. And I will take sickness away.

Hit the rahu jacket. Don't you come back.

You guys are rhythmically challenged.

What you Think. Come on, hit the road sickness. Hit the road. Let's try that again. It was a little bit high for me.

Are you ready? Hit the road, Jack don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more Hit the road, Jack don't you come back no more Hit the road, Jack, don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more Hit the road, Jack don't you come back no more don't you come back no more, don't you come back no more. Somebody's like, my God, I have second hand embarrassment.

I don't get embarrassed because I don't care. Let's move on. Sickness is not of God. Sickness is not.

Can you hear me right now? Sickness is not of God. I know your grandmother loved the Lord and she said that God gave her some sickness to teach her humility. But your grandmother didn't know the word that much. If she says that.

God bless Grandma. May the Lord, may she rest in peace. We stand on God's word. God's word is clear that he takes sickness away from us. In fact, it's purchased at the atonement at the cross.

Next, God will give you fruitfulness. Fruitfulness.

Verse 26. Listen, you can stand on this scripture if you're. You're married and you're believing to have kids, you'll suffer no miscarriage or be barren in the land. But it's a picture of growth, it's a picture of multiplication. It's a picture of blessing.

I got like one amen for my sister who I led to the back to the Lord. Or were you saved when I got to your house? You saved. You were saved when I got to your house. My sister, who invited me for the house blessing, gave me the only Amen.

Can you say, God will help me multiply? Say it. God will help me multiply. Amen. All right.

You guys getting something on Passover? You love a long life. Verse 26.

You'll have a long life. You'll have a long life.

God will bring increase. Oh, I like this.

Little by little. I'll drive them out, man. Brother Jethro, Auntie, I. I don't. I didn't like that scripture for the longest time. But it's a principle of stewardship.

He doesn't just give you everything all at once. And the reason is you can't handle the truth. The reason he doesn't give you everything all at once. I'm not subscribing to that movie. I'm just.

Things come out of my mouth sometimes. He'll give it to you little by little. Come on. He didn't dump six. You know, what are they called?

Child care centers. Okay, he didn't dump. This is five. He doesn't dump five of Molly all at once. You started at home with a cute little baby Gates and a little sign, a little beat up van, right?

Am I right? Yeah. And then what happened? Then he gave you a little more and you're faithful. That and he gave you a little more and he said now you like, got a monopoly on daycare.

Best daycare in the valley.

Some of you, some of you just want it all, but you refuse to start little. Little and small. Insignificant. And you know why I think the Lord does it that way? Because he's teaching you humility and he's teaching you to handle it.

Come on. A prophet is without honor in his own hometown. Why would you be without honor in your own home? Because if you can't learn to do it in honor, without honor, then when you get honor, you're going to think you're all that, a bag of chips and three Coca Colas. You need to do it for his honor.

No matter what anybody thinks about you.

God will bring increase and inheritance and it comes little by little. I am convinced I'm moving into the most fruitful years of my life. I was a late bloomer by my standards, but not by yours. Lord, I remember arguing with God. I was about to move into our first house, which we're still in, thank God.

I don't remember how old I was and I don't want Pastor Karen to remind me. So anyway, I started arguing with the. I wasn't arguing, but I said it numerous times. I'm finally moving into my own house. I was 40 something, I think I'm 40 something years old and I'm finally moving into my own house and somebody's up.

Praise God. Good for you. Thank you, Jesus. I'm like, hey, amen. It's a miracle.

I said it again. I'm 40 something years old and I'm finally moving into my own house. I said it probably three or four times. I'm Saturday night before I'm ready. I've got my message for Sunday.

I wake up and I hear the Lord say, so look, this is how he talks to me. So you're 40, 45. Thanks. So you're 45 years old and you're finally moving into your own house. I'm like, yeah.

And I hear it again, you're 45 and you're finally moving into your own house. And I said, yeah. And I start realizing I'm getting rebuked.

And he says to me this, son, do you think I could have given you a house sooner? I'm like, do you think my timing is wrong?

Are you happy? Yes. Okay. I just wanted to check. How many of you is going to check something that he already knows he was revealed.

When God tells you something you already know, he's telling you something else. And he began to deal with me in the area of ambition.

Need to learn to be content with little and content with much. And if you're driven by greed and you're driven by some standard, an ambition that's laid on. There's ambition laid on the church. I. In fact, I said at that same time, if I have to pastor a church of a hundred people, I'm going to quit and go sell cars.

Not that selling cars is bad.

I just thought, if I can't reach more people than 100, then I should probably be doing something else. And, boy, did I get rebuked. D.L. moody said to a pastor who asked D.L. moody, who had the largest church in the world at the time, he said, how do I build a large church church like yours?

And DL Moody said, how many people in your church? He said, 150. He said, that ought to be enough to stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

So Lord began to deal with me about ambition. He's like you. You're. You're ambitious, and it's your ego, your vain. You say it's all for my glory, but it's not.

It's. It's all for my glory. But you want to keep 5%.

Not feeling the love on this side. Maybe the Lord's talking to you right now. We have a tendency to try to put our name up and drive things forward. If you'll just trust God and take care of the little things and be faithful and little, he'll make you ruler over much in this age and in the age to come, God will bring inheritance to you. He'll bring increase to you.

And I've seen that he had to bring. You know, the church really never grew until we got that word grew a little bit after that, after he dealt with the worldly ambition of wanting to, like, be some big pastor or something, after he squashed that out of me on my birthday, there was a release of miracles. And I don't have time to tell you the old. Actually, you're in it. The church from that point, went straight up, okay, then you've got it.

It's for my glory. Then if it's okay, you just pastor 100 people, then, okay, I'm gonna give you more then. And we began to grow and began to flourish, and we haven't stopped. We're continuing to grow. I'm telling you, God will increase you and he'll give you an inheritance, but you got to be faithful.

And if your motives not right, he'll wait. You're like, how long are you gonna wait until. Till all that's fixed. That face you have right now.

I think I just told that story. I like it. Most of you didn't hear it, so I'm gonna tell it again. I had somebody years ago, and it was a. Well, it was Ahab and his wife.

You're like, who's his wife? Jesse.

And they. They. They were trying to take over the pulpit together. Long time ago. Don't ask me who it is.

I'm not going to tell you.

You should never tell stories until they're like 10 or 15 years old. And this one is plus. Don't try to figure it out.

Pastor Tim's like, I know it's not me. I'm like, you know, that's.

Okay. Back to the face thing. I'm almost done.

Did you never let my husband preach? He's a. He's a better preacher than you and.

Something like that. It's your flip of the hair, a little bit of the lips. I said, you feel that right there, what you're feeling right now? She says, yes. Husband's here with his head down.

I said, you feel that? And you see that look on your face right now and the way that. That feels like when that's totally healed, maybe then you'll be able to have a pulpit ministry here up until that time. Snowball's chance in hell, baby.

Pastor Karen's looking at me all ugly.

Lift your hands to Jesus. Do not try to figure out who that person is. Stop it.

Yeah.

When your ways please, Lord.

When your ways please him you will increase.

When your ways please the Lord, you'll walk into your inheritance. You'll walk into the promised land. Yes, you will. When you ways. When you ways please, Lord, he'll make even your enemies to be at peace with you.

When your ways please him, You live in blessing.

Jesus died on that cross and his blood was shed. It is the final and last blood sacrifice. There is no more. It is finished. I have a gift for you.

I've seen them. People still have them. But just in case yours blew away in one of the last storms, you can get another one and just go ahead. It represents the blood. What's it represent?

The blood. You take that and you can put it on your. You can put it on your rear view mirror. You put it in your. Your glove box.

How many of you know what a glove box is?

Glove compartment.

You can save it for next Christmas if you want it. It represents the blood, all right. It's what it represents.

And just from my little visit from the Holy Spirit and the vision that he gave me of the death angel passing over and over the course of the past few days, I fallen in love with Jesus all over again. I'm so glad he made a way. I'm so glad he made a way for me. I'm so glad he cleansed me. Oh, though my sin was as scarlet he washed it and make it as white as snow.

Oh, my sin was like crimson. But he came and he cleansed me. And he. He washed me. He took away my sin.

They threw it as far as the east is from the west. He's the Lamb of God. He died on Passover. Oh, oh, oh. Here's another thing.

Every lamb that was one for every household, they had to have a name that hung on the lamb's neck. So when. So when the priest would see the lamb, they're going to sacrifice it. They're like, oh, this is for the Godwin family. Or.

Or, oh, this is for the sheep. Schwartz family.

Goldmeyer. Anyway, you guys are not getting my humor. But they.

Oh, it's the Levi's. Okay. So they would then knew who the lamb was. For over the head of Jesus on the cross, you know what it said? King of the Jews.

He's the Messiah. He's the lamb foreshadowed in the garden prophesied throughout all of the Old Testament. The scarlet thread.

He's the lamb of God.

That's what Passover is all about. You don't have to have matzah bread, but I'm not against it either. Not my favorite kind of bread. It's a picture of non unleavened bed, unleavened bread moving quickly because you're in a rush. No time to let it rise.

It's a. All of it. It's a. The bitter herbs. A picture of bitterness and a picture of what Jesus went through, but also a picture of the bitterness of life and dipping it in the salt.

I mean, it's. We've done seders here before. Maybe we'll do one again. But this year. Just wanted to do this, preach this to you.
