There’s a real battle—and real casualties. Pastor Daniel unpacks how the enemy works and how to avoid becoming a “Judas” by staying rooted in truth, humility, and the fear of the Lord.

There’s a battle—don’t become a casualty.

Hi, this is Pastor Daniel Bracken. You're listening to Kings Alaska podcast. I hope the Word encourages you and you get a touch from God that brings transformation and equips you to experience life with people, power and purpose. Thank you for joining us. Enjoy the Word, your Bibles and turn to the book of Luke, chapter 21.

Luke 21. New King James Version. Go down to verse 37. Let's read God's Word tonight. Are you ready?

And in the daytime, when he was teaching at the temple, he was teaching at the temple. But at night he went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet. What was it called? Olivet. Verse 38.

And early in the morning all the people came to him the temple, to hear him. Now the feast of unleavened bread drew near, which is called Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him, for they feared the people. Then Satan entered Judas. Say that with me.

Then Satan entered Judas. Now keep in mind Judas is a disciple surnamed Iscariot, who's numbered among the 12. He was a disciple, verse 4. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains how they might betray him to them.

Verse 5. And they were glad and agreed to give him money. So he. So he promised and sought for an opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of the multitude. Let's pray, Father.

Thank you. Moving power in Jesus name. Amen. You may be seated.

Number of years ago, I hiked Exit Glacier with a number of the youth. And I was looking at a young man who was worshiping God in the. In the altar. Today, I can't remember what service it was. Might even been this one.

And I. I said that. That young boy right there. What's his name again? And he's just got this crazy awesome red hair and. But he's grown about, well, I don't know, five feet since the last time I was on a hiking trip with him.

Just watching all these kids grow up around me, it's just amazing. I don't know, I don't know what you're all feeding them, but they're growing like, growing like crazy. We went to Exit Glacier and we, we hiked Exit Glacier and then there's a. There's part of Exit Glacier that, that goes up as a much longer hike and it brings you. I think it's to the Harding ice fields.

And so there was a group of us that decided to do that. How many of your youth were at that? You're not youth anymore. Raise your hand. If you remember that painful hike, all right, it was.

It was slick. It was kind of wet. We had to watch out for bears. If you didn't have the right shoes, you know, it was a problem. And I think leisure wore flip flops, if I remember correct.

And I mean, it was a pretty intense hike and we, we just hustled up that thing and you go hiking in Alaska, you want to make sure you have the right shoes. You want to make sure, you know you've got water. You. You want to make sure you've got the right clothes. Cotton a kill you.

Come on. Somebody say Ben and you want a large gun. I, I don't hike without my. My, what I call my fishing buddy. I have a 464 Kassul right here, and it's my friend.

Plus I think it looks cool for pictures. I'm glad I've never had to use it. It's just all those hiking photos where you're.

And I remember, I remember. I remember saying to the youth, and I don't know if they recall, but I remember saying to them, hey, be careful that you don't fall. You. Excuse me a moment.

So sorry. I'm on the tail end of a cold.

I've entitled this Needless Casualties of War. Now we are in the midst of a. I don't know what they're calling it. I'm good. I don't know what they're calling it, but it's a military engagement wiping out Iran and removing the regime, for which I'm very grateful. They're corrupt and wicked and they're killing the whole generation over there.

And I'm very grateful that we've got a. A government that's got a backbone. Instead of saying don't, he says other things which are a little bit brash at times, but I'm just so glad that America is moving in strength. And I'm grateful for that government and regime that hates Jews and hates America is being removed. They had an opportunity to get it straight.

Even though they lie as a part of their extremist Islamic religion, lying is encouraged so that you could deceive. I mean, Jesus, it's just crazy. So I'm. I'm grateful for that word war. There are people that get killed by friendly fire.

That's a horrible thing. Killed being killed by friendly fire. This passage gives us some insight. And I, I wasn't going to preach this to you tonight. I had this other great message about going to the other side and this storm and it's like amazing.

But as I was in prayer with a. A bunch of leaders at five o', clock, I felt the Lord say change it and share the needless casualties of war message which I was going to share with the leaders. So the leaders got the other message and they're all here also. And now everybody gets this one. Why?

Why would you do that? Why would the Lord have me do that? Because what I'm about to share with you will save your life. And I've seen even just in recent years, I mean we just had. The assemblies of God just had to remove somebody at the cor.

Separate level. And I don't know his name, even if I could recall it, I don't think I would tell you anyway, but they had to remove him. He had a indiscretion across the body of Christ. We've had all kinds of people fall, pastors, leaders, men, women, people wiped out. I have a very dear friend of mine who's preached here who was just removed.

He committed adultery. Pastor committed adultery. And it's just so grievous. It's just so grievous. And for me, I don't know how it is for you, but when that happens for me, I just want to gather all their books and burn them all.

I just, it's so upsetting for me. Oh, don't look at me like that. Don't look at me with that tone of voice. You're like, well, that's pretty extreme. I know I have a gift that a man of God gave me.

It's precious to me. Except he just wiped out. And in the wiping out, I just, I just can't use the gift anymore. Why not? Because it just reminds me.

And yes, for the grace of God go I. And I have mercy and compassion and we're forgiving and all of that. But I don't want anyone here, including myself, to become a Judas. Raise your hand to heaven and say, I ain't gonna do that. Uh huh.

Are you sure? Because it's interesting how it all, how this battle and how people can, can wipe out. And I shared this with my staff. I shared this with the staff of Jordan Hodges church. They just looked at me.

What did he say? He said to his staff after I preached a message that I'm about to preach to you. He said that was an unusually intense message. I don't know that was a good thing or a bad thing, but I felt like I obeyed the Lord. So you've gotta have an awareness.

Let's get into this a little bit. You gotta have an awareness that there's a battle and there's casualties. You don't need to be a casualty. Say to your neighbor, say, I'm not going to be a casualty. Go ahead and say it.

Yeah. It's the insights on how the enemy works. Let's give it. Let's look at the text, the background. Jesus is teaching at the temple.

He's protected by the crowd. You can read chapter 21. Leaders knew that the people would riot if they arrested him, these religious leaders. So they don't arrest him because they don't want to riot. They don't want a problem.

They just want to off him quietly though, Jesus is protected and they're looking for an opportunity to kill him. And he would go away to the Mount of Olives. The Garden of Gethsemane is most likely what that is. And there's a plot, and I want you to know this, that there's a plot for your demise also. Oh, the plan of God.

The plan of God. How fantastic. Diablo has a plan also. That's the one you don't want. And you want to be aware.

We are not ignorant of his devices. It says in the New Testament, don't be an ignoramus. Ignorance is not bliss. And so I preach this message to you to help you not be ignorant and to help you be awakened to the reality that there are needless casualties of war and there are some here that will become a Judas. Even though I'm going to preach to you how to.

Not to. How to. How to win, how to overcome, how to not get wiped out. And it's not the be all to end all message message on that, but it will help you greatly as God has spoken to me some of these truths. There's this conspiracy, there's a plot.

Religious leaders want to kill him and Judas betrays him for money. He betrays him for what money? Kala, Cash, greenbacks. He betrays Jesus. Zechariah, chapter 11, verse 12.

So they. They weighed out by wages 30 pieces of silver. How much did Judas get paid? 30 pieces of silver.

And the Lord said to me, throw it to the potter. Which is what Judas buys a potter's field for his fulfillment of Zechariah, chapter 11. How is it that Judas did what he did? Well, there's some. There's some theories that Judas was forcing his hand.

You see, Jesus had escaped when he fed the 5,000, the 4,000. They wanted to make him king at one point, but he escaped. He slipped through the midst. He would. They tried to get him.

He said I John 8, verse 58, which I said in the first service. John 1, verse 58. It was not John 1:58. It was John 8:58. I am before Abraham was.

I am. He claimed to be God because he was God. He is God. Jesus is God. Say that Jesus is as God.

That's a theological revelation that the Jehovah's Witnesses don't have because they teach error and have changed the word ego and me.

And so Jesus slipped through the midst so that some think that Judas was like, man, I'm just going to make him flex. How are you going to make him flex? Just put him in a position where he's just going to have to flex. Let's just get. I'm sick and tired of.

Let Jesus. Will you just show up and bring your kingdom already? I think he's just, he's fed up. And I think part of the reason of that is because of who he is. What do you mean the, the.

The clue? Judas Iscariot.

Iscariot is. Has two different meanings. In the Latin is sicarios. It could mean that he was a part of the dagger men, the zealot. Judas the zealot.

There were these men called dagger men and they're basically terrorists and they killed Roman soldiers and Roman sympathizers and they, they would pull daggers out and they'd shank him in a crowd. That still happens today in Israel. And so that he was considered very possibly one of those. But, but, but Jesus selected him. Or he came from the town of Carioth, which Iscariot is a Hellenized version of Carry On.

So we don't really know, but it could be that then he just had this, this nature where he. He just wanted to flex and to see Jesus flex and finally just take over. And that wasn't what Jesus intention was.

He saw the miracles until Jesus chose him. He's one of the 12. Notice it says that He. It says it in the text. He was one of the 12.

So he saw the miracles of provision. He saw the miracles of deliverance. He saw the miracles of resurrection. He saw the widow of name son get up from the coffin. He saw, he saw, he saw, he saw more miracles and perhaps any of us have ever seen.

He walked with Jesus like for rizzle. He walked with Jesus every day. They camped out together. He knew the Lord, although not in the way that the Lord wants us to know him.

Reminds me of Matthew 7, verse 21. Not everyone who says to me, lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the One who does the will of my father who's in heaven. Men will say to me on that day, lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform miracles? Then I will tell them verse 23, Matthew 7:23. Then I will tell them plainly.

Plainly means very directly. It's not. It's not kind of hints to it. He says directly, never knew you.

You're out.

Wow. They'll be thrown weeping and gnashing teeth. Get away from me, you evildoers. How could someone do all this stuff and see all the miracles and end up a betrayer? How's that possible?

Well, it's. It's just as possible as all these stories that we hear over the past few weeks without. Without naming names. But prophets that. That data mined Facebook.

I mean, there's just got to be a special, special place in hell. Unless someone repents of that. God can forgive you of anything. But how do you get to the place where you have so lost your fear of the Lord? And then you're actually looking at Facebook to figure out people's names and addresses, and then you write them down.

This happened endorsed at one of the biggest churches in America, bringing to shame. You know, when I read that, I forget where I was. But when I found out about that, I had a meeting that night and I found out about it. I thought, oh, no. I went out that night and just.

Just believed God to give me names and addresses.

I got a. I got a couple. I didn't get an addresses. I got some names and some I missed. I was like, is there a Sally here, by the way? Is there.

Is there Sally here? Well, same thing happened. There was no Sally. I said, well, you should have come. Why would you do that?

Because you prophesy in proportion to your faith. So I've said, I know it's real because I've been in services where it's real, it's genuine, and I've had God use me. Surprise, surprise, surprise. God used me like that as well. And I thought, that is genuine.

God does give names. God does flow in power. There is prophecy. The gifts of the spirit are real. And so to have somebody defile it and cheat and do all that you kind of corruption to.

To gain favor and look like he's a greater man of God than he was, who's a harlot, a charlatan, I should say. A charlatan. All for money. And he'll stand before the Lord. I don't want to end up with Judas.

Come on. Lay your hand on your own heart and say, I ain't got to do that. Yeah.

How did it happen? Well, the same way it can happen to you. The same way it happened to some of these guys, some of these girls. How. How did that happen?

Go to. Go to First Corinthians, chapter 5. First Corinthians 5, verse 6. On your device or in your leather bound bible, it says your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens a whole batch of dough?

I love bread. Does anybody love bread? Bread is amazing.

Let's close in prayer, father.

But leaven is yeast and it causes dough to expand. Come on, we're famous for sourdough here. I said, somebody. Somebody making some sourdough bread. And they're like, that's sourdough from the gold rush.

That sourdough is from the batch from 1822 or whatever it is. Oh, leaven here is referring to sin, is referring to that which is not good. And in Corinth there was such perversion there. To Corinthian ize someone would be to make them so perverse, they would be corinthianized in every way, in every perversity you could think of without me giving a litany of list. To be corinthianized is to be totally made perverse.

And the Corinthian church, they had a. They had a man, a young man who was sleeping with his father's wife. So his stepmother he was having relations with. It's. There's children here tonight.

Welcome to family night. That's all I'm going to say. If you haven't discussed the birds and the bees with your kids, I'm not going to do it now. It's like Daniel says to me when he was like seven, dad, what's the prostitute? I said, I don't know.

Let's move on.

She was probably more like 5. We would read all the proverbs together. He gets a little older. And he had come to that same proverb again. Dad, what's a prostitute?

I said, lord Jesus, help me right now. Ah, that's someone who gets paid for kisses. Ew. I'm like, that's right. Let's move on.

There's four areas that Judas had in his life that were entry points for the enemy to wipe them out. And you want to make sure you don't have these in your life. And you can. You can expand them. If you have areas in your life where there's sin, then the enemy can take you out.

You want to make sure you're under the mighty hand of God. Under the, under the covering of his. Of his. The shadow of his wings. The shadow of his wings.

If you look and find yourself a shadow right now I put my hand out, I can see a shadow. David, the one the sweet psalmist of Israel would talked about Psalm 91. I'm under the shadow of your wings. In other words, he's so close to the ark of the covenant that the shadow of the, of the wings of the cherubim on the COVID of the ark would, would cast a shadow. And that's how close he was to God's presence.

That's the picture.

Judas was defiled. He was corrupted.

Paul says to the, to the Corinthian Church, you tolerate that young man. Expel the immoral brother from among. You do not know that a little le talking about the young man who's having relations with his mother in law. His stepmother says expel them. You know, sometimes people have to, sometimes churches have to remove people.

I've made mistakes before where I've allowed people to stay because I, I just have great hope for, for God to turn people around. And it's very infrequently that I've removed people. But how many of you know, sometimes people got to go and it's a part of healthy ministry and they get turned over to their new pastor whose name is Satan. You don't want Satan to be your pastor. You thought I was intense.

Satan get turned over to Satan. They get turned over for the destruction of their flesh. And then later, you know, hopefully they come to their senses. So four areas. The first area is money, is greed.

Turn to John 12.

He was a thief. He was a treasurer of the church. How many churches have been destroyed by the treasurer? Could that happen here? Cannot.

Why is that? Because we have too many systems in place. We've. We've learned, we have programs, we have systems. I couldn't get into the safe if I tried.

It's two. I don't even know who our two teams are. It's unrelated people that have to open open the safe. It's a Moss multi Multi user. Moss Hamilton multi user lock.

And then it's riddled with bombs all around the safe as well.

There's two signatures on every check. I had somebody accused me years ago. I came in. Do you remember this? I went into what went.

What was. It was Home Depot. Went to Home Depot and I can't remember all the details of it, but I had Ordered tile for my bathroom renovation as it's tile, something like that. I'm not looking at Pastor Karen. She's trying to tell me something, but I'm not listening.

I'm going over here.

And so I called and ordered the tile. But the person who was ordering that knew me was ordering the tile. I knew who I was. They're like, okay, Pastor Daniel, great. They'll be at will call.

I'm like, fantastic. I go down to get the tile. Yeah, it was tile. It was John Stewart. John Stewart was doing my tile job.

Best tile guy I know, many, many moons ago. I go to get the tile and there's someone else there that saw me. They're like, hey, Pastor. I'm like, hey. So I went.

I go down to get the tile. Do you have my tile? It's a will call. Daniel Bracken. No, no.

Oh, here it is. It's under King's Chapel. I'm like, yeah, that's fine. So I go, I buy it. I leave with my tile.

There was someone that witnessed that, that saw me get the tile in the name of King's Chapel because they put King's Chapel on it because they knew I was a pastor at King's Chapel. But the person that saw me buy it from thought that the church bought my bathroom tile. And they were so offended that they left. Eventually they came back and we sorted it out. There are people that have greed problems.

There are people that are absolutely gripped by money and that is Judas. Look at John 12, verse 5. Wasn't that Mary comes in, she bursts in, she washes her feet with of Jesus, with her years worth of wounds wages. It was actually probably something that was given to her. Passed down.

It's probably a generational blessing passed down from her mother or something like that.

She washes her hair, washes his feet with her hair and. And anoints him with this perfume. Spikenard. John 12, verse 5. Why wasn't the perfume sold?

For the money and the money given to the poor. It's worth a year's wages. This is Judas. All righteous indignation. Think of the people we could have fed.

But he didn't mean that he's ticked off because he doesn't get to pinch the money. And he goes on to say he didn't say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. As a keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put in it. Judas was a thief. He was the treasurer of the church.

And it's crazy that Jesus Picked him. It's not like Jesus didn't know he's God. It's just amazing to me. Judas all along fulfilling this prophetic word from the Old Testament. He said, well, I don't have a greed problem.

Okay, fair enough. How about your lust problem? How about your anger problem? How about your lack of self control? Let's all praise the Lord.

Hallelujah. Thank you. You have no idea what he's talking about. Hallelujah. What are the.

What is that little secret thing that you have? What is the little perversion that's working in you? You must expose it. You must root it out. You must tear it down.

You must take the acts of the Word and lay it to the root of that thing and get it out of your life. You know, tithing's really good. It helps you. Tithing helps you not be greedy.

I heard somebody say, whatever you do, don't ever shake hands with a non tither. I said, how come they'll steal your rings? I'm like, listen, if you choose to do evil, you're preparing yourself for destruction.

I may run it through again. If you choose to do evil, you're preparing yourself to be Judas.

Second thing you'll notice in John 12 and verse 7, Jesus says to her, leave her alone. Jesus replied, it was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. You'll always have the poor among you. This is Jesus responding to Judas. You'll not always have me.

Jesus openly rebukes Judas. Anybody ever just been set on fire by a leader? Anybody ever been rebuked by someone who's a spiritual authority over you? I'm so grateful for Dr. Morocco, who he just seemed to have the right amount of pressure to put on each of his leaders that brought about the result. I am not one that requires a big strong rebuke.

If he looked at me sideways, I'll be, oh, God. I just. I just felt like I let my dad down. My spiritual dad. Never want to let dad down.

You're tender hearted too, Chris. Some people are not. Some people are knuckleheads. I mean, thick headed. I mean, like Dr. Gannon.

He doesn't mind if I pick on him. He was just here. My dear friend, that guy was thick headed. And he would just get in fighting matches with Dr. Morocco. I mean, he'd like raise his voice.

It'd be two, like an Italian and then Gannon's Irish. And they just yell at each other. And he'd say, doc. He'd say, pastor Michael, get in my office. And they'd go in his office.

I'd be, oh, dude, I would never want to do that.

It's wonderful to get rebuked. And sometimes people do it well and other times don't. People don't do it so well. Dr. Morocco was always very gracious with me, but there's times when you can get corrected and get so offended. You know, one of the things that happens here is that people work out their father issues with me, and I'm happy to have you do it.

How come? Because I worked out all of mine, and I know that I'm getting seed. It's seed time and harvest. I worked on all my daddy issues with Dr. Morocco, and I'm happy to work them out with you. And if you need correction and you come and you ask for counsel and you need to be corrected, I'm going to correct you, and I'll do it with sugar and cinnamon.

If you want mercy, you can talk to Pastor Karen. But I'm going to tell you what. I'm going to tell you how to chew the cabbage. I'm going to tell you what from God's word, I'm gonna tell you, and I'll be sweet about it. I'll try to be sweet and kind.

Other times, I've not been so sweet and kind. I had somebody, and I'll talk in vague roundabouts, had somebody who was married. And then they introduced me to the person that they want to marry. They're already married. So they introduced me to the person that they're now going to marry.

I said, you're married. That doesn't matter. I said, yes, it does. They said, I'm marrying him. I said, no, you're not.

They said, you telling me what to do? And I said, am I your pastor? They said, yeah. I said, yeah, that's not right. It's not God.

Knock it off. And they left the church and went and did whatever they did. Years go by. Lives get destroyed.

I think. I think Judas, from the text, he's a thief, but I think he got offended.

Are you offended if you haven't been? You're soon to be. Why is that? It's a part of your training. God will offend your.

Offend your mind to reveal what's in your heart. And I don't particularly care for that. But I want to live above offense. And I'm not talking about the fence around your house. I'm talking about offense.

You want to live above that. Went through a great trial without going into the details, and I was very Offended. And the Lord spoke to me and said, son, you have no time for that. You have no time to be offended. Because when you get offended, you just, you just, you get weird.

You start getting twisted and you start losing your, your, your, your, your first love. A story I've shared many times. I was going to be the youth pastor years ago, and they picked somebody else. I didn't know it was the wisdom of God. I thought they just missed the Lord.

I was of course the first pick. Of course you should pick me. My God. I was God's choice. I picked somebody else.

It took me years to realize, wow, thank God I wasn't the youth pastor. Thank God for the youth had to deal with me. I got offended. And I remember in that offense for a week, I walked in that, I walked in that offense and I remember going to the job. I lost my joy.

I wasn't singing like I was always singing before. I wasn't witnessing like I was always witnessing before. I was bent, I was bowed up. I'm like, man, who did those people then they should have picked me.

Wasn't praying. I got so corrected by God. And the correction was, what did I call you to do? The short long story shorter. And I knew what he called me to do.

He called me to preach, pray and prophesy. He said, then make the whole world your pulpit and get going. And I did. I preached Kmart that night, almost got arrested. Pastor Karen running for her life, praying in emergency tongues while I preached Jesus over the microphone at kmart.

The fence will get you messed up. And I think that Judas was offended at Jesus. The third thing you'll notice here, you see this. Jesus was not the political messiah that Judas wanted. And I think the, the result of that brought a great disappointment.

I don't know if you've ever been disappointed at what God has not done for you. People are disappointed at what God does and they're disappointed what he doesn't do. Don't ever get disappointed that God just trusts his leadership. And I can tell you all kinds of stories of where I got disappointed that that pastor not being chosen as a youth pastor was one time, another time just not seeing a restoration like I thought God should do it. And when it didn't happen, I turned my back on him.

It was a horrible time when eight months into near, I went eight months into insanity. I turned from the Lord. Some of you have an opinion about how God's supposed to do something. You know, I found out that's probably exactly how he's not Gonna do it. He's just awesome and he's gonna fulfill his promise.

But when you have him locked in, I thought, you know, I mean, Naaman, the big Dipper. Naaman had leprosy. He was a great man. Syria, a slave girl testifies that there's a prophet in Israel and says, oh, I wish that my master would go to the prophet so he could be cured of his leprosy. She loved Naaman.

Naaman goes with letters, finds a prophet. There's knocks on the door, and the prophet doesn't get out of his lazy boy. He continues to eat his hummus, his falafel, And he sends his servant to go answer the door.

Servant opens the door. Yeah, what do you need? Yeah, I'm, I'm naming. Yeah, I know you're naming. What do you need?

He says, I've got this leprosy. Can I see the man? God. Hold on. Shuts the door, opens the door.

Yeah, just go dip seven times. Seven. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 times. Jordan, see you later. Peace out.

Shuts the door and Naaman's like, what kind of unmitigating call. He should have come and come over and wave his hand over the place or hit me with his jacket or something.

And I love Naaman's servant. And I'm paraphrasing that, that passage, it says, look, if he told you to do something great, would you do it? Says, why can't I go back to my rivers in my own nation? They're, they're beautiful and they're, they're amazing. The Jordan's muddy and nasty and I don't want to go in the Jordan.

Well, if he told you to do some great thing, would you do it? Naaman was offended. He finally got over himself and dipped not six times, seven times. It came up as fresh as a baby's backside. Some babies backsides are fresh, others not so fresh.

The idea is that he got cleansed. He got cleansed. He got what? He got cleansed. If you're offended, if you get in a place of deep disappointment, you're in trouble.

I just walked through a season without giving details where. The Lord just said to me, there's nothing you can do about it. I want you to do one thing, son. I'm like, okay, what can you love me with all your heart? I'm like, that's about the only thing I can do.

I can do that. And I just changed the dialed my heart away from disappointment and, and, and sorrow. And I thought, I'm just gonna love God. There's a. There's a scripture for that.

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and he will add all things. And I will tell you, it took a period of time, but when I. When that really worked in me and thank God for Pastor Karen and prayer and just different things weren't panning out the way I wanted it to. Hello. Don't become a Judas.

Deal with your disappointment. Deal with your sin condition, your lust, your greed. Deal with your anger. Deal with it. It matters.

Deal with your. Deal with your offense.

Judas disappointed because Jesus wasn't fulfilling this messianic fulfillment of Isaiah 53 because he did not understand that he had to come as a suffering servant before he comes as a ruling king, which is yet to come. He's coming again and he's not coming as a suffering servant. When there's disillusionment in our. In our hearts and we lose track of what God's doing or begin to demand how he's supposed to do it, you end up in a place where you give up on your faith and you'll end up getting weird. You'll end up getting distorted and up.

You'll end. You will become a needless casualty of war.

Sometimes we do things that God will do, things that we don't foresee. And at times it's disappointing. And if you let the devil get a hold of that, you're in trouble.

The fourth thing, and the final thing is we could have some keys, please. Mr. Heidi, would you jump on the keys for us? Thank you.

Is that there was a duplicity in him. What is duplicity? He. He was. He was.

Didn't see that which is holy and sacred as that he shouldn't mess with. He. He. He lacked the fear of God. So number one prayer I've heard my wife pray over the 26 soon to be 29 years of marriage.

One of the number one prayers she's prayed is God teaches to the fear of the Lord. Give me the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. He had a religious hypocrisy, a duplicity. Seeing the sacred is.

I've been accused of being religious concerning this sanctuary. We don't let kids play all up and down the stairs. I don't. I don't like game. There's no games in here unless it's part of a children's event which is powerful and fantastic.

We'll make exception there. Nobody's playing football in here. After the service is done, you'll get corrected by who by the ushers. If I see it, I'll be correcting you. Also, no tambourines.

Amen. I just thought I'd throw that in in case, you know, we're growing and some new people don't understand. Tambourines are not of God. No, I'm just teasing. I'm teasing.

They're amazing. Most people. People can't play them.

This is. This was called years ago. This was called a sacred desk.

I remember we had communion. We had communion this morning. We had communion years ago. And. And I don't know, we had twice the amount that we needed.

Z. Lucille Street. And we're cleaning up. I think it was a Sunday night or whatever. I walked back, and there's kids in the back around the. The extra communion, doing shots of the grape juice.

I said, what are you doing? And everybody's like, oh, Pastor. When he gets the crazy eyes.

Pastors got crazy. Yeah, don't do that now. We don't believe in transubstantiation. How many of you know what that is? That's when at the mass, the juice and the cracker become the body and blood of Jesus.

We don't believe. That's the unbiblical thing. Otherwise you'd be crucifying Jesus every time you had communion. But they're powerful symbols. Don't let.

I don't let kids just throw back all the extra juice. It gets tossed. And they're not taking handfuls of crackers like, you're eating Doritos. Why? Because what you're doing is you're mixing that which is very sacred, which one is very common.

Doritos. And. And grape juice. And I knew that it would have an effect on them. I also knew they would never forget the crazy eyes of Pastor Daniel saying, don't ever do that again.

Then some people think maybe it was a little extra, but it's not. Things that are holy are holy. And you. You don't. You don't want to ever lose that.

This is sacred, this altar, this area is where people get saved, people get healed. We call this a sanctuary. It's not an auditorium. We named this a sanctuary. You see, on the outside, it says sanctuary.

I did that on purpose. This is not an auditorium where you stick bubble gum underneath the seats.

It's not. It's not a place where it's just light. It's light. Everything's great, and everything's off. Yeah, it's happy.

It's filled with joy, but it's sacred. And Judas did not see the sacred as something to Be honored. That's why at the fight, at the. At the communion, at the last at time, the same supper, shaking communion. And the text says in another.

And another section of the. Of the gospels says that John wanted to know, who is it? And it's him who subs with me. And Jesus reached for the bread, and Judas reached for the bread, and he takes communion. He takes the bread, and it says at that point, Satan entered him.

That ties directly into First Corinthians, chapter 11. When you take communion in. In an unworthy way, you drink judgment on yourself. You don't ever want to become a Judas. So you teach your kids holiness.

You teach some purity. This is not something that should rest on the toilet tank in your house. I was in India, and I had. I had a Bible and I had no place to put it, and all the seats were just packed, and I needed to put it down for a second, so I put it under my seat on the floor. You'd thought people were gonna have a heart attack.

I had the guy behind me, pastor. I'm like, what? He says, please give me your Bible. Please hand me your Bible. I'm like, okay.

And I looked and I realized, oh, that's like, not good. I mean, that's like not good. And I picked it up off the ground and I. I thought, yeah, yeah, you could hold it for me. And I realized, oh, Jesus, This is God's word.

Read it, know it, learn it. It's sacred. It's a sacred thing. And there's a bygone generation that used to think that way. Isn't that right, Pastor Dwayne?

He didn't just throw it.

It's sacred. It's God's word. It's. It's sacred when the Word's being read. You should teach your kids.

Don't you move. Don't. I mean, you can be a religious nut job about it. I'm not into that either. God knows I probably have some lumps on the back of my head from hoping a Jolly Rancher in the Catholic Church along with you.

And you have twice the knots, I'm sure. Absolutely. There they are.

But, you know, I didn't like those knots. But it taught me, don't mess around with God and don't mess around. But it helped me learn the fear of the Lord. When the Word's being read. Don't.

It's not time to go to the bathroom. When. When people are preaching here and. And salvation's coming forth. It's not time to go to the loo.

Teach your kids to listen to the Word teach them. Because Judas didn't see the sacred as something that should be honored. And as a result, Satan entered him was. I think it's a long line. It's a pretty progression.

And he became a needless casualty of war. You don't want to be a Judas. I'm gonna finish my race. Lift your hand if that's you.
