Living on Assignment

Throughout America’s history, seasons of spiritual awakening have transformed individuals, families, communities, and the nation. Looking at the Great Awakenings of the past and Jeremiah’s message to God’s people living in Babylon, Pastor Daniel challenges us to believe that God can bring another great awakening—and that He wants us to participate in it.

In this message, we’re reminded that although our citizenship is in heaven, God has placed us here to be His ambassadors and seek the welfare of the communities around us. Rather than withdrawing from the world or simply waiting for Christ’s return, we are called to increase, not decrease—building for future generations, praying for our cities and nation, living according to God’s Word, sharing the Gospel, and allowing God to use us wherever He has placed us. Awakening begins with people who are willing to arise, pray, believe God’s promises, and put their faith into action.

Hi, this is Pastor Daniel Bracken. You're listening to Kings Alaska Podcast. I hope the Word encourages you and you get a touch from God that brings transformation and equips you to experience life with people, power and purpose. Thank you for joining us. Enjoy the Word this past week as we and Turn to Jeremiah 29.

Get there. Starting a brand new series this morning which I've entitled America the Next Great Awakening. Because whether you realize it or not, even though there's a lot of horrible things that are happening, there's a lot of great things that are happening. And there's a tent movement all across the middle midwestern part of our country where college students and people are coming in droves. And I, I'm thinking about doing some tent meetings and our tent since died.

We had it for, I don't know, I think we had the tent here for decade after decade. And then some of you came into that tent years ago as yellow. Do you all remember that yellow tent was on this property and we had great revival meeting. Well, it fell apart. And so we still have the tent poles and pegs, but we don't have the tent itself.

But tent meetings are become a thing now all across America. There's tent meetings and tent revivals breaking out everywhere. There is more people coming to JEs in our nation that have in recent years. There is a, there's an uptick, a great uptick of, of people coming to Christ. It is said statistically between 20, 2014 and 2021, there is 36,000.

36,000. 36,000 more people of 36. Is it 36 of Jesus? Help me here. Just reach your hands towards me, Father.

Help my brain. Right now there's a lot more people that have come to Jesus than ever before. And that there was this decline in Christianity, but now there' great uptick. There's a great outpouring. And most of those that are coming to Christ are millennials.

They're sick of digital alienation and they want God. And so I see God pouring out his spirit. This week I ran into people and in running into them, I, I found they knew about our church and they, they, they've been impacted by one of our outreaches or one of our ministries or one of our teams of which we have all over the state. And I'm just grateful for what God's doing. Look at your notes with me.

There's great awakenings before we read the text from Jeremiah 29, verse 4 to 14. Great Awakenings in America are that which has actually shaped our nation. The First Great Awakening, historically 1730 to 1745. That's Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield. There was this stagnant churches in America at that time, and there was this great outpouring.

They did what was called extemporaneous preaching. They were extremely bold. It went from being sort of dull, boring, quiet teaching. And you had these ones like Jonathan Edwards and different ones that began to preach. They were kicked out of churches.

It's interesting when you look through history, you see those who were on fire, radically on fire for God, main denominations, and kick them out. In this case, this is where they started preaching outside. I read a commentator on the first Great Awakening and they said for the first time, preaching was brought outside and thousands were. I don't think it's the first time. I'm pretty sure Jesus did it.

The Sermon on the Mount. He was on a mountain. He's on a mountain and he preached a sermon on the Mount. Wow. So you see, you see this extemporaneous preaching and it really was the foundation for which our nation was then set free.

You look at a. There's a flag I have in my pictures on my computer from 1730. It says no king, but King Jesus. That is a. That is a flag that flew in different parts of our nation.

No king but King Jesus. George Whitfield. Different thousands and thousands coming to Jesus. The second great awakening is from 1790 to 1840. Charles Finney.

How many heard of Charles Finney? Preaching across America, Bible societies, prison reform, educational reform, a great outpouring took place in our nation. It's called the Second Great Awakening. The Third Great Awakening. Jeremiah Lanfear.

D.L. moody. Anybody ever heard of D.L. moody? D.L.

moody. That's the Third Great Awakening. And at that time, it just so happens, and I'm proud of it, so I share it. In 1872, Robert Whitaker McCall on my father's side of the family. He was 51 years old and it was at the second.

The third great awakening there in our nation. He was living in England and he felt led to go to France. He went to France and started 136 missions, churches across France in. In fixed 56 different regions. And God used him in a great way to pour out the spread.

51. He served there for 20 years and then died. I have on my credenza in my master bedroom a. A beautiful set from the church that gave him a gift from France. It's.

It's in France. It's in French. And it's. It's this beautiful antique that I have reminding me about spreading the gospel across the nation. I see it every day.

God has brought great awakenings in the past, and I believe that God is bringing an awakening to America. And I'm going to preach along those lines. We. We would be remiss if we didn't talk about the pentecostal revival of 1906, which really goes into the third great awakening. So what are you saying?

I'm saying we're having a. I believe we're headed towards a fourth great awakening.

William Seymour in 1906, and this really the third great awakening, it fits in there where the outpouring of the Spirit took place. Charles Parham and Topeka, Kansas, at a Bible school, preached and they taught on the outpouring of the spirit in Acts 2. But nobody had seen or heard tongues. There hadn't been many miracles that had taken place. He taught on it.

And on New Year's there was an outpouring of the Spirit that took place. They brought linguists to hear what they were saying. They're praying in tongues. They brought linguists. This is history.

It's hidden. You don't hear about it that often, but this is Pentecostal history. They brought linguists and they were praying in all kinds of dialects of Chinese and different nations around the world. And everybody was aghast at what had happened. Someone who was deeply impacted by that was.

Was a man by the name of William Seymour. God has a sense of humor. He wasn't even allowed in the classroom because he was black. He was persecuted and America was in bad shape back then, just as it is today. Great racial division.

But he sat outside the classroom and he heard all the teaching. He had one eye. William Seymour. I just think that's funny.

He went to La Brea street in Los Angeles, California. He would stick his head in a chicken crate and pray until the fire of God fell. That was the outpouring that took place really started in a livery stable called the Azusa Street Outpouring. And because of Azusa street, really is the fact that it's the kind of church that we are today because of what took place at Azusa street, of course, what took place in Acts Chapter two. And they were called Pentecostals because they preached on Pentecost so often.

So what are you saying? I'm telling you, we are headed towards a Great Awakening in America. And I do believe God is doing that in our state. I believe God is doing that in our city. I believe God is doing that, and he's using us to participate in it.

Stand up on your feet. Let's read the text of Scripture today, found in Jeremiah 29, verse 4. New King James. If you're all there, say amen. Let's read the Word and then we'll get back into this message.

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. Verse 5. Build houses. Would you read this with me? Build houses and settle down.

Plant gardens and eat whatever they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters. Find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there, do not decrease. Say that with me.

Increase in numbers there and do not decrease. Also seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I've carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says. Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you.

Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. They are prophesying lies to you in my name, and I've not sent them. Wow, declares the Lord. Verse 10. This is what the Lord says.

When 70 years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place, for I know the plan. How many of you know this verse? For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.

And you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I'll be found by you, declares the Lord, And I'll bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I've banished you to God, declares the Lord. And I will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.

Let's pray. Father, thank you so much for your word. A lamp unto her feet and a light upon our path. I pray that these words as I speak, Lord, from these lips of clay would burn faith in the hearts of every single man, woman, boy and girl. I pray that, Lord, those gathered in this great sanctuary and all those online would receive impartation and transformation.

Because your word and you stand over to see it performed. May we never be the same. And may this echo into even our nation, touching people, even not only our nation, but around the world, and many effects before reaching even to eternity. In Jesus name, Amen. Give a big amen.

Turn to somebody and say, God's bringing an awakening. Go ahead, tell them God's bringing an awakening.

Nations are made of families. So for a nation to enter into an outpouring, guess what has to happen. Outpouring starts in people. Starts in fathers, starts in mothers, Starts in brothers, Starts in sisters, Starts in family. Come on, lift a hand to heaven and say, I'm having an outpouring in my family.

I'm having an outpouring in my family.

Amazing that we're imperfect people endeavoring to accomplish God's purposes in the earth. Right in the notes. We're imperfect. We've all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Yet God uses man.

When I say man, I mean mankind, men and women. God uses people. Astounding to me. I mean, he would do such a much better job. I mean, if I was God, I. I don't think I would use people.

I mean, be grateful that you're not God. I'm very grateful. I mean, you send an angel to preach would be way better. Everybody soils himself and repents instantaneously. But angels can't preach the gospel.

No, angels don't preach the gospel. Mankind does. And he raises up a Moses, he raises up a Joshua, he raises up a people. He raises up a man full of vision. He raises up a woman full of vision to declare God's purpose in the earth.

And, and the reason that you're here under the sound of my voice this morning is to be equipped to be strengthened with might, to be endued with power to receive, really an understanding of why you're still alive and is to bring his kingdom in the earth.

So it is amazing that God chooses us to accomplish his purposes. We co labor with him. Understand back in the notes that we're citizens of two worlds. We're citizens of. We're citizens of the earth.

I mean, we're here. How many of you were here? Very good. How many are going to be coming in just a little bit later? Raise your hand.

We're citizens. We're here. We're. We're in the earth. We're in what's called the.

The first heaven, that which you can see. Second heaven is the place of warfare. The third heaven is the place of his throne. We're here in the earth. But don't ever forget there were also in heaven.

We're citizens of two worlds, heaven and earth. Listen to these scriptures, Philippians 3 and 20. For our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2 and 19.

Consequently, you're no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and members, his household. Ephesian. Pardon me, that's Ephesians 2:19, 2nd Corinthians 5:20. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God was making his appeal through us. That's what we're supposed to be.

And everywhere I went this week, I met Christ ambassadors all over, many of which come right from our congregation or the fruit of what's taking place. Like, for instance, through the search team.

I'm not sure how many people we have on our cert. That's our community emergency response team. I'm not sure how many people we have, but I think it's a hundred or so. And they're at different events. They're being used as a main source of security for the 4th of July event for the city of Wasilla.

They're all over. They're at races in different places, serving, helping, bringing. Bringing emergency help or response first aid teams, things like that. That's amazing. Then.

Then the. The King's Dream center is 30 acres over in Hatcher's Plan, Hatcher's Pass, which is a rehab and a transitional housing place for men that's filling up with people. God's using it profoundly. It's expanding. They've got new buildings that are being put in.

There's a. There's a mission team that was just there to help move that along. I think about the Lighthouse women's transitional house. You say, why are you saying all these things? Because many people have no idea.

I had somebody post some idiot posted on Facebook. How many of you got to watch out? I did say idiot. Misinformed. Misinformed.

A misinformed person. How many of you ever been an idiot? Don't raise your hand. I'm like a misinformed person. Said, oh, kings, they don't do anything for our community.

Well, you're an ignoramus. You're misinformed. Misinformed is better than ignoramus, isn't it? A lot of people want to throw rocks. And yet I was.

I've just. All across our community seeing people getting witness to people coming to Christ. I remember being in the. In the. In the sauna, at the gym, and someone saying, oh, yeah, I'm a part of this life group, Mike.

Oh, I. And I said, well, what's a life group? Oh, it's, you know, that church Kings. I'm like, oh, they're like, yeah, there's these group of people and they study the Bible. Yeah.

I said, oh, Kings. He's like, yeah, it's that one on the hill. I'm like, really? That's awesome. And then somebody else said, oh yeah, I heard of Kings.

And I felt convicted that I didn't tell them I was a pastor because I think they're gonna about to talk a bunch of crap about the church. So I said, just so you know, all fairness, I'm the pastor of the church and like, oh, We're impacting this community, but it's going to happen in greater and greater ways. And it's not just us, it's the body of Christ. Thank God for the body of Christ. Thank God for the outpouring of the spirit.

Thank God for signs and wonders. Thank God for miracles. Thank God that can take someone like me or somebody like you and you can give your life to Christ and you can be healed, you can be set free, you can be filled, you can be touched. He can transform you and use you as an ambassador. I was, I was walking in our new school building on Friday.

For those of you who don't know 7000 Wonder Circle. I just like the address. Wonder, where's the school? 7000 Wonder Circle. It's the old Birch Tree School.

I went and I just wanted to walk the halls and I walked the halls there. I walked in there doing the finishing painting. The Birch Tree Charter School has moved out. They're moving into another location. God has miraculously provided for our King School of King School, Alaska.

King's Christian School, Alaska. To move to a new location which holds 600 students. We outgrew this place. We prayed all year that God would help us. And God miraculously has given us a building at no expense.

Did you Hear that? A 10 point appraised at 10.5. Just in case you can't hear me, I'm gonna stand on a chair. 10.5 million dollar building. God has given us to be able to move in at no expensive hours.

Of course there's going to be additional expenses. Why? Because he's touching kids. He's bringing a great awakening to a life. Come on, somebody say yes.

Yeah, that's what he's doing. Your kids. The next generation is important. That's what Jeremiah was saying. And we'll get to the text in a second.

Well, probably a couple minutes. I'll get to it. I'm walking the hallway and I can hear prophetically I can hear the sounds of children. I can hear the sound of students. And teachers.

I can hear music. And I started weeping going up and down the hallway, understanding and knowing that many awakenings took place with children before it ever got to the parents. And I saw an outpouring of the spirit of God taking place. I stood in that gymnasium, although it's filled with old furniture and different things that's being moved out. I stood at that gymnasium, which will be our new chapel there.

Because that school is going to have chapel every single day. And we're going to have revival in the school. Come on, somebody say amen. It's not going to become some separate thing from the vision of the church. It's going to stay connected.

Can somebody say Amen? So as I was weeping going up and down the hallway, I was overwhelmed that I then had a meeting with a person, very high political person in our community. They asked to come and see me. So I asked him, why? Why what?

What? What can I do for you? I need wisdom. So I thought, I don't know if they're calling the wrong the right guy. I mean, I said, I think.

Well, they must think I have wisdom. I guess you're going to give me wisdom, Lord. So I sat and met with him. God gave me a word. He gave me a prophetic word for them.

I gave them that prophetic word. And about a half an hour meeting, we prayed. They went on their way. And I was driving home thinking, how did any of this happen? How's any of this happening?

Does. Does anybody know what that. Do you know what I'm talking about? Like, listen, if you're here and your life is broken and hurting. Well, my life was broken and hurting also.

My life is no longer broken and hurting. My life is about bringing a great awakening. And I know there are many others. There are many other leaders, hundreds of other leaders here, and business owners and professionals and household technicians. Come on.

Those that are raising their children. Whatever station of life you find yourself in, understand and know this. He's put you here to bring his kingdom. Even though we're imperfect and we need help, some of us need more help than others.

Come on, put your hands together for Jesus. I hope you hear that the right way. I'm not. It's not about me. It's about God.

And it's about how God will touch your people in the midst of a Babylon. And that's what brings us now leading us into this text. Look at the text and understanding its context. Judah had fallen to Babylon. The second kings 24, verse 12 through 16 describes the second captivity.

Jehoiachan is king of Judah along with his mother and his servants and commanders, officials. This is 2nd Kings 24, verse 12.

Surrender to the king of Babylon. So the king of Babylon in the 18th year of his reign took him captive.

It is quite a passage of scripture. Daniel was taken in the first captive, the first captivity. This is now the second. And you can see that in Daniel chapter one, verses one through three. And there's these false prophets, not unlike today.

Can I warn you for a moment?

Don't develop relationships with people online that you can't actually touch and see and know. I don't care how much they're flattering you, ma', am or sir, it could be Jabba the Hut behind a computer. Any Star wars fans out there? And there is a lot of people that are self proclaimed prophets and apostles and I am very leery of all that. Church will never just be online, it will never just be cyber.

And whoever tells you that goes with that other ignoramus that I was talking about before. Because real Christianity has lived in the soil in the context of relationship. And if you, if you can't, if you can't touch and see and you can, you can put all kinds of fronts out there and it's very dangerous, very dangerous. You pay to get a word from somebody. I've had people that have destroyed their lives, even though I've said that very thing.

Don't you do it? Somebody says, I met somebody. I said. And my next, my next thing is, is it online now? I have seen some fruitful relationships, healthy relationships that have come on, you know, that way through Christian dating or whatever.

I've seen it work. I've, I've known some long lasting marriages now. It's been great, but I mean you have to walk through that. And by the way, if you meet someone and they instantly want money, that's a problem. Even if they are real and it's not job of the hut and they want money, it's still a problem.

We should move on. There's false prophets in Jerusalem and in Babylon. We're preaching that these exiles would last. They'll be, you're only going to be exiled for two years. It's only two years.

And Jeremiah said, and no, it's not two years, it's 70.

And to be like, shut up, Jerry. Crazy Jerry. That's what they called him.

Hananiah was a false prophet you recorded in Jeremiah 28. And there's others in Jerusalem and in Babylon and Jeremiah's in Jerusalem. It's the context of what we read, and he's sending these prophetic words, this word to Jews in Babylon via an official courier service, which is really like the favor of God. I mean, they're in captivity and. And the king of Babylon still allowing for a courier service to bring the word of the Lord to his people.

Isn't that a wonderful gift? It really is. You can see that Jeremiah 29:3, the exiles of the Jews are seen by Jeremiah as an act of God's judgment. Jeremiah 25:8 through 11 basically says it's God's judgment. So you have these false prophets, and then you have Jeremiah the weeping prophet, and people are confused.

And Jeremiah gives a completely different message from the false prophets. What's his message? He says, make Babylon your home, settle in. I mean, why would he say that? Because if they didn't, they wouldn't settle in and they wouldn't have.

They wouldn't increase, they would decrease and they would become weak. He says, make Babylon your home because you're going to be there. And the second thing he says to them is, prepare to live there a long time.

I had somebody say to me not long ago, hey, I don't believe in insurance. I'm like, what do you mean? Well, I just don't have any insurance. I mean, I have insurance for my car because it'd be illegal to drive. You know, I don't want to break the law, but I don't have any life insurance.

I don't have. I said, well, why not? He said, because the Lord's coming back. I said, that's a bad reason. Why would you say that?

Because you don't know when he's coming. Come on, bump your neighbor and say, no one knows. Yeah, no one knows when he's coming, but he's coming. He'll be coming round the mountain when he comes. Be coming around the mountain.

I'm sure that song doesn't apply to that. But I mean, he's coming, And so you should live like he's coming right now and plan like he's not coming in your lifetime. We built this building. Someone I had people not so happy about the building. Other people elated.

Take it up with God, however you feel. We just trying to obey him. And we felt like God spoke to us. And we're reaching thousands of people and impacting the state and beyond. We're impacting the nations.

And this building's built to last way beyond anyone's lifetime here. So why would you do that? Because it could very well be beyond your lifetime and mine. And it's a statement. It's a theological statement.

It's a declaration to hell. We're not going anywhere. And it's a declaration before God to give us the strength. Strongest, best location in the whole valley. Right on the corner as you drive in.

It's a beautiful sign from God saying, my kingdom is at hand. Come on. Somebody say amen. I know that's bold, but that's how I see it. And God did it.

And one day it'll be paid off. Somebody say amen. Prepare to be there a long time. He says, look. Look at the third point in your notes.

Increase in numbers. Everybody say increase. Increase in number. That means don't decrease. Come on.

Everybody say, I'm gonna expand to the right and left. And expand to the right and left. Increase is an aspect of the kingdom. Increasing. The kingdom of God increases.

It starts small, like a mustard seed, but it increases so big that birds can land on it. It's a picture of the kingdom. The kingdom of God increases. We're supposed to decrease. He's supposed to increase.

John the Baptist said, I'm. I decrease, but he increases. Grow, have babies, build homes, increase. Seek the. This is right out of the text.

Seek the. The peace and prosperity of the city. The word there in the Hebrew is shalom. It means welfare. Shalom means welfare and peace.

It means prosper, prosperity. It means health. It means happiness, joy. Seek the. Seek the shalom of the city.

It's quite a word.

Shalom, peace, blessing, prosperity. Bump your neighbor and say, hey, shalom, Shalom. Pray for the city's welfare, not for its downfall. I remember somebody saying, God's going to judge America. Well, of course he's going to judge every nation.

God's gonna just. He's gonna bring a fire down on America. Be careful. You live here.

And you know, America sent more missionaries out than just about any other nation in the world. And yeah, there is coming judgment. But you're gonna be judged. I'm gonna be judged. I just believe that we're headed for the greatest awakening we've ever experienced before.

I believe we're headed for the fourth Great Awakening. Awakening. I believe that God's going to pour out his spirit on your sons and daughters. I believe he's bringing them from afar, daughters from the ends of the earth. I believe that he's healing the sick and setting the captive free.

I believe that God is awakening this great nation. We've been asleep. We've been in a slumber. But the apathy is being broken off and people are rising in a Spirit filled biblical conviction to declare the kingdom of God in the midst of a Babylon and there is so much Babylonian activity. But God, Come on, somebody say but God.

But God.

Pray for. Pray for our nation. We're going to start additional times of prayer as we hit the fall. We have. We have a new worship person that's coming to help us.

He arrives on July 1st. And we're going to launch more and more worship and prayer times. We're going to open up a Friday night. We're going to. We're going to do some different things as we hit the fall and we're going to see.

We have a vow that we made. And I didn't just choose that word. It was. I mean, part of me has looked back on it and semi regretted it because vows are vows. Your vows before God are important.

But I had faith just fill me full over this past year. It's time. Do it now. We're going to start prayer. It will come, become 24 hours a day, seven days a week with worship.

And then people are going to come and it's going to be a. It's going to be like a prayer furnace. I don't know what we're going to call it. Somebody said a prayer room. They've been called upper rooms.

They've been called different things. I don't know what we're going to call it just yet. But in the fall we're going to hit that thing and we're going to open up more and more prayer and worship. And I'm. Why would you do that?

Because he's worthy and prayer makes a difference, right? Going to pray for the city, pray for the nation, pray for the nations. We're going to pray. Every village in Alaska has a. Has a church as a gospel witness.

I've heard it say that other states would be the first Christian nation, but I think they missed it. The first Christian state. I think Alaska will be the first declarative Christian say. Well, we had a governor back in the day say Alaska is a Christian state. May we have another governor that does the same thing.

Can I say, can I hear an amen? God has a good future for you. That's what he's telling them. God has a good future for you. I want you to hear that.

This is not just an Old Testament passage. The first prophetic word I ever got, ever. I'm saved like a week maybe. My mother brought me to hear this prophetess up in Up Country. It's called Up Country Maui.

And I was sitting somewhere in the Back, not really paying attention. And she says, you, points at me, come here. I came up and I'll never forget the word she gave me. She said, not many days now and God's going to elevate you and use you to make an impact in the nation. And she gave me the verse Jeremiah 29, 9, 11.

He said, for the Lord says, I know the plans I have for you. And she prophesied over me and the fire of God fell on me. And I'm like, what is that, man? I couldn't find my hundred parts with two hands. And a survey team back then had no idea that God would use me in any capacity.

And you might feel the same. God wants to take your life. You might not have a clear view. He wants to bless you. He wants to help you.

He wants to prosper you. He wants to pour his spirit on you. He knows the plans he has for you. It's not plans of misery and pain. Is there misery and pain?

Oh, yes. Weeping endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning. God's intention for you is to bless you. Come on, say it. God's intention for me is to.

Not so that you could get greedy, but that you could share the blessing with others and bring people to Christ.

Some resent God for what has happened in their life. And God knows I've had that experience. But I would highly advise you not to resent God. Because what God, the, the difficult, painful things you've gone through can be attributed to the fall of mankind, to your poor decisions, can also be attributed to other people and as well can be attributed to the devil. For he prowls around seeking whom he may devour.

There is a very real demonic entity that wants to destroy life. I heard a testimony this past week and I will share it as vaguely as I can. A gentleman was in hospice and there was a team ministering to the gentleman chaplain, some folks from this house, from our church. And he was on his last moments of life. And I've been at those bedside moments and I've.

I've held the hand of people who are in comas. And one comes to mind a young man who broke his neck in a football accident. He was 18. Maybe he was in a coma. They weren't sure if he was going to make it.

And I went there and it's funny, it's when we had boom boxes. Anybody remember those? I took my little boombox and my favorite spirit filled music. I was, I was a life group leader and Pastor Ann called me and said, go to the hospital. They think this boy's going to die.

He broke his neck. I need you to go pray for him. So I went, I brought my little radio, my little CD with a cord all wrapped up. And I showed up at the intensive care at the hospital, and I was on fire. And I walked in, I said, I'm going to pray for the young man room so and so.

And they looked at me and they looked at my radio. I said, it'll be all right. I need it. And they're like, okay. So they go.

And I ask the family. The family's in there, Remember? They opened the sliding glass door and they said, there's a. There's a guy here from the church to pray. They said, oh, yes, come in.

So I come in. I said, I feel like God has given me a word for your son, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna just. Just go for it. Is that okay?

And they said, oh, go ahead. I said, okay, you better shut the door. They slowed the. Close the sliding glass door. I put on my little worship music.

And, man, I waited till the fire and the anointing of God fell on me. And at that moment, I jumped up on a chair and prophesied over this kid. You're going to rise and you're going to give your life to Jesus. You're going to be born again and you're going to fulfill God's plan. And I'm calling you to do ministry.

And I said, rise now.

And nothing happened. And I said, in the name of Jesus, come out of the coma. Rise.

Nothing happened. I did it the third time in Jesus name. Rise.

Nothing. My music's still playing. I'm like, oh, shoot. I'm like, okay, well, amen. And I went, and I took him by the hand.

I took him by the hand and I'm holding his. His lifeless hand. And I said, I know you can hear me. I mean, his eyes are closed. He's out.

I said, if you can hear me, pray this prayer, dear Jesus. And I just imagine him praying it back. Dear Jesus, thank you for dying on a cross. Thank you. I just imagined him praying.

He didn't pray anything, but I'm imagining him praying it. And then I saw tears. When I finished that prayer and he received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I saw tears coming down his face and I thought, oh, he can hear me. I've done that a number of times.

I've had other people who could move. I said, squeeze my hand and use this little, little squeeze. In this case, I don't recall that happening, but I remember seeing the tears. And I. I walked out of that room and said, well, God's good. He's moving.

I walked out so defeated, like, got my little. Got my little thing and just walked out. I was glad for the tears, but it's not what I saw. I saw him getting up, and that's not what happened. I walked out, I've cried a little bit, said, well, God, but gave it, give it a whirl, you know.

You know what happened in three. And within three days, he got up. He got up, was totally healed. And he went into. Literally went into ministry.

He got healed, totally healed. That they had no idea what happened. It took three days. At some point that following week, they called the church and said, our son's been healed. That crazy kid that did that.

Kid, Kid. I was in my 20s. That's kind of what happened in this past week. Man is dying. They lead him to Jesus like that.

And in walks another group sent by some agency, clearly dark, clearly demonic, clearly not right, not there, no joy, no peace. Clearly something wrong. And as the man introduced his husband, It was like a darkness. But the guy had already given his heart to Jesus. There is a war going on right now.

And I was so blessed that there was people that would stand. You know, God is speaking to us this morning, and I see five things that I want to bring to you. God is speaking to us. Come on, lift your hand to heaven. God's speaking to us.

The first thing I see is don't let your eschatology stop you from filling your responsibility. What does that mean, eschatology? Big theological word that means don't let your study, your opinion of the end determine how you live now. Like the person who didn't get insurance because Jesus is coming back. That's, that's, that's, that's not good theology.

Every generation since his death and resurrection has thought that they were the final generation. And I. And I believe I'm in the final generation. One thing's for sure. We're all in our final generation.

Why is that? Because you're going to croak. You're going to die. So don't just think about yourself like that wicked king who gets judged. And the prophet says, oh, your, your, your grandchildren are all going to be eunuchs.

And, and the curses are going to destroy the kingdom. He's like, but not in your. For the sake of your Father David, says the prophet, it won't happen in your lifetime. And he's like, oh, thank you God. Poor grandchildren.

But thank you, God, he rejoices. Well, it's not gonna happen in my lifetime. How fantastic. What a moron. All I can think about now that I'm 60, but it's been happening for 10 years.

All I can think about is the next generation. All I can think about is what are we going to leave them behind? All I can think about is, who are we raising up? Who are we elevating? Oh, I'm not even close to done.

Would you play anyway?

12:38. We're going to go to 2:00 today.

Got like four golf clubs.

Live in light of his coming. You live that way. You live like he could come at any moment. And then I'm going to add what I heard early on in my walk. Plan like he's not coming in your lifetime.

What are you saying? Get insurance. Yeah, we have a.

We'll be selling life insurance in the lobby today. No, we're not.

But, but I. I think you should plan so that your family's a godly man, leaves an inheritance to his children's children. You should plan like he's not coming in your lifetime. Live like he's coming right.

Right now. Some of you wouldn't go past a roof if there was a rapture right now. So change that. Second thing I see is occupy. This comes from.

This comes from. Oh no, sorry. Go back. I have a bunch of scripture for the for you note takers. Live.

Live in light of his coming. 1st Thessalonians 5:2 through 6 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying peace and safety, destruction will come on them suddenly as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape but you. Everybody say, but me. But me, brothers and sisters.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness. New International Version so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You're all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night. Say I do not belong to the I do not belong to the night, or to the darkness.

So then let us not be like others who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. Titus 2:11 to 13 while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of our the glory of God our Savior, Jesus Christ. Matthew 24 verse 42 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know what day the Lord will come. But understand this, if the owner of the house had known what time night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have Let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready.

Because the Son of Man will come, come in an hour, which you do not expect him. Second Peter 3 and 10. But the the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar. The elements will be destroyed by fire and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be said? 2nd Peter 3. You ought to live holy, godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed. It's coming. The King James says, hasten, speed is coming.

That means the way that I live, the way that I walk, the way that I talk, the way that I pray. My actions, my behavior, my thoughts, my prayer or the lack thereof can bring a release of God coming into the earth to the return of Christ or can maybe slow things down. It is amazing to me. Speed the day. How do you speed the day?

I mean, I want him to come. I can't wait till he comes on one hand. But on the other hand, I feel like I just got involved. I want to lay something before his throne. I feel like the Apostle Paul at times where he said, oh, he was motivated by the judgment seat of the believer.

What motivates you? There is a day that's coming. You're only given one life to live. And after that, the judgment. A biblical hope back in your notes does not produce escapism.

I'm not waving a flag of surrender. I've already surrendered to Jesus and I'm going to charge hell with a water pistol if he tells me to. I'm a preach, pray and prophesy. I'll be as unconditional politically correct as I possibly can so I can break that spirit off of people. I am tired of them trying to neuter our children.

I'm tired of them trying to endorse same sex marriage and kill the unborn. I say no. Not on our watch. Not gonna do it. I'm not looking to be raptured on out of here.

Come on. When I understand. When you understand who he is and who you are in him, it will produce engagement. It will produce. Produce commitment.

It'll produce a fear of the Lord.

Oh, hallelujah. We're called to seek the welfare of our city, state, nation and the world. How do you do that? By living for God. By.

By praying. By living righteously. Live righteously. What does that mean? It means obey God's word.

Living righteously before God. The Ten Commandments. Do you do you have to obey them? Please say yes. So I'll ask again.

Just go, yes. The Ten Commandments. Do you have to obey them? Can you? No.

That it shows you that you fall short. You need a savior, not a rule book. You need somebody who died in your place because you can't earn it. If you could earn it, if you could do it, if you could produce a righteousness that was like God, then Jesus never had to come and die on a cross. Produce.

You can. You need a savior. But thank God for the rule book too. Living righteously lives live according to the word. I had somebody who's just smoking all kinds of weed, marahoochee, cannabis, whatever you want to call it.

They're smoking weed and they say, yeah, no, I. You know, every green herb, it's for my enjoyment. Mike, no, he's like, well, I'm not convicted. Okay. You may not be convicted is because your, Your, Your conscience is seared.

If you have something in your life that you just want to do and you. Because you don't feel convicted, but in the word, it says it's wrong. Guess who's wrong? You. You're the one.

You need to change the way that you think just because your mind's not been renewed. I just don't feel like. I just don't feel it. It has nothing to do with feelings. It has everything to do with obedience.

Based on God's word. Truth is God's word. Righteousness is found in God's word. And true righteousness really can only come by being imputed. Imputed.

It's a bit. Another theological word, imputed. It's God takes his righteousness through his Son when you believe and he gives it to you, that's why you can stand before him in confidence. Lift your hands and lift your voice and pray.

Elect the right leaders. We have midterms coming in August. I don't know. We have 17 or 20 different candidates for governor. Elect the right leaders.

Somebody said, are you a Republican or Democrat? Let me just say it's not about being. It's not voting party lines. Although I have very strong convictions, I vote according to God's word. I vote according to the principles found in God's word.

It is not about.

It's about anything else, but what's righteous according to the Lord? So I, I look for a candidate that would represent my values, and I vote that somebody say, wow, make the city better. Make the city better how? Like I said, I walked around different people all across this. All across the city this past week.

And I see the, the fingerprint of God being put on display everywhere.

Priscilla and Aquila, ever heard of them? They were marketplace ministers. Let God use you if you're a teacher, if you're a doctor, if you're a lawyer, God if you're a nurse. Let God use you to. If you're a truck driver.

I talked to a young man who drove from Florida to Alaska. He drove down and he drove back, which I'm told is 6,000 miles or so approximately. Is that right? He said, at every, every place I stopped to get fuel in my truck, I witnessed, I led people to Jesus. I prayed for people all up and down America.

Can you imagine if everybody did that? If you saw yourself, if you see yourself as the. God's agent, God's ambassador, God's minister of reconciliation, if you saw yourself as they did in the first century, and I know many of you, do you see yourself as an agent of change? See yourself as God's hand extended. See yourself as an ambassador.

See yourself as appointed by God to bear forth fruit. John 15 and fruit that would remain. Would you see your life that way? It's an exhilarating life. Increase.

Everybody say increase. Increase. Don't decrease. Increase. You're right.

In the right age, in the margin of your notes, don't decrease.

I remember sitting with a, a group of financiers. I was telling them the testimony of this church was before we actually built the building, how God gave us the property back by the word of a 10 year old. You'll read it in the book that will one day be produced soon. And it's an amazing testimony. So I'm sharing the story with these financiers.

Literally, God's power falls in that meeting. I mean I, not that it's a, the tell all of the power of God falling, but I'm, I'm looking at grown men with all their super hairy arms. You know, I'm talking about just standing all on it.

And I remember the, just like a. Air just got sucked out of the room. And it was this awesome presence of God. And the one banker says to me, what are you going to do after you build it? I said, we're going to take over.

He said, whoa. I'm like, yeah, that's what it's about. We're not going to shrink, disappear and go away. We're going to, we're going to increase. And how's that going to happen?

Well, we need to pray. Says pray. Everybody say pray. And you pray. Now you know the story 70 years goes by, they've increased, they've grown, they had marriages, they had children, and God brought them back.

This is about Israel. It's about God restoring Israel, certainly. But it is also about us and what God wants to do. Believe God's promises and claim them. The promise of God is a basis by which we pray.

The promises of God are like a seed that gets sown into our. Into our minds. And then when it's activated and we really get it down in our heart, in our spirit, and when that happens, it's coming out of your mouth, you're declaring it. And then faith is acting on God's promise. So many people are stuck in their head with the Word.

The word's got to get in your heart, it's got to come out of your mouth, and then you've got to act on it. When you act on God's word and faith, confident assurance of what you cannot see, see, when you're fully persuaded, then God does miracles like he did for Abraham. When you're fully persuaded, God releases power.

That's what he's doing. He's bringing another awakening to America. And he's going to use you. He's going to use me, he's going to use us. The city is turning to God.

A revival awakening is coming. Lift your hands to heaven.

God's pouring out his spirit on his sons and daughters. He's pouring out his spirit on you and me. He's pouring out his spirit. God's pouring out his spirit. And deaf will hear, the blind will see.

God's pouring out his spirit. The hour is late, the time is short. It's time, it's time to awaken, says the Lord. It's time to arise. It's time to awaken.

It's time to arise in your God. Purchased blood, bought dominion. Put aside the things of time and tradition. The Lord would say, and lift your eyes on the hill where your help comes from. Your help comes from the Lord.

Lift your gaze. Don't look upon the things that do not satisfy. Ho. Isaiah 55. Come to me, all you who are hungry.

All you who are thirsty. Come and buy milk. Gold without price. To not waste your energy on that was does not satisfy. Increase, don't decrease.

Increase in my power. Increase in the kingdom. Increase for the sake of the good news of Jesus. Decrease in your selfishness, decrease in your lust, decrease in your anger, decrease in your greed. Increase in the things of the kingdom of God.

For not many days from now, not many days hence.

I'm coming.

I'm coming.

I'm coming.

He's coming soon.
