What does it actually mean to walk by faith and not by sight?

Pastor Timothy Capo teaches from 2 Corinthians 5:7 and the story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, showing how faith is more than a feeling of confidence or encouragement. When circumstances change and difficulties come, genuine faith gives us something substantial to stand on.

Through Jehoshaphat’s response to an overwhelming enemy, Pastor Tim shares practical principles for walking by faith: seek the Lord, get a word from God, obey His Word, praise Him in the process, and follow through without quitting. Faith takes what God has spoken and continues to stand on it even when circumstances have not yet changed.

God’s Word gives us something solid to stand on in the tension between the promise and its fulfillment. This message challenges us to fill our lives with the Word, take steps of obedience, praise before we see the victory, and refuse to quit as we trust in the faithfulness of God.

Hi, this is Pastor Daniel Bracken. You're listening to Kings Alaska Podcast. I hope the Word encourages you and you get a touch from God that brings transformation and equips you to experience life with people, power and purpose. Thank you for joining us. Enjoy the Word.

Good to be in church on a Wednesday night. If I've not met you, I am Pastor Timothy Capo, one of the pastors here at Kings. And actually a couple anniversaries this month besides our wedding anniversary. What's that? 21 years, but also 20 years with Kings and 10 years as bestowed with the title of pastor.

So. And there's a few other anniversaries right about this time of year. And thankful for all that God is doing. Thankful for Pastor Daniel and Pastor Karen, who have been our pastors for just about 20 years now. And so thankful for the opportunity to preach the Word.

One of my favorite things. I love the Word. Anybody else love the Word? Praise God. We're going to look at Second Chronicles, chapter 20.

But before we do that, I want you to look at Second Corinthians 5, 7. It should be on the screen. Second Corinthians 5 7. Title of the message is how to Walk by Faith. And it's based off of this New Testament scripture.

For we walk by faith, not by sight. Come on, I want you to say it with me. For we walk by faith, not by sight. One more time. For we walk by faith, not by sight.

And we see here, it's a declaration. It's not a suggestion. It's not just a good idea, but it is who we are. Actually, when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, it's by faith. That's why we're called believers, because we believe upon him.

And by that faith, we are made right with God. But one of the things that happens, maybe you've been in church for a while, you've heard this verse, we walk by faith, not by sight. But it's not often you get told how to do that. Maybe you get encouraged. You say, oh, brother, you just got to walk by faith, whatever it is that you're going through.

Maybe it's a health issue, financial issue, family issue. Whatever is going on, you just gotta walk by faith. And that's the encouragement that we get with a pat on the back. But I want to encourage you tonight and how to do so. Some principles actually from the Old Testament as we're going to move from Second Corinthians to Second Chronicles, from 1 end of the book to the other, because there's illustration in this story that can teach us some very valuable principles on how to effectively walk by faith in our daily life.

Now you might ask, why do I even. Why does it even matter?

The Bible says that without faith, it's impossible to please God. If you want to please God, you got to have faith, you got to have faith. I don't know if that's a good song, but these songs just rattle around in there and they might come out a verse or so in the message. And I usually blame Jeff Mitchell, my brother in law, for that. He'll shake his head at me.

That's not a good song. Pastor Tim.

One of the things that I found quite often in the body of Christ is many think they have faith, but what they have is good feelings about God.

I went to a church service, a conference, listened to a message, heard a worship song, and I'm feeling full of faith. But then difficulties come, diagnosis come, bills come. And what happens to that feeling? A good feeling's gone.

And we begin to question our faith. See, because it was tied not to something of substance, it was tied to feeling. I feel good at the end of the service. I feel full of faith. I'm going to take on everything that God's called me to and I'm going to be able to overcome.

And then when you get to the, the nitty gritty, right? When you get to the, the real meat of overcoming, you find that that good feeling is not enough, that that good feeling doesn't have substance, that, that good feeling like when Peter was walking on water, all of a sudden he looks at the wind and the waves and he gets that sinking feeling that the good feeling is not enough. And so I want what, what the Lord has put on my heart this evening is to teach you how to go from just that good feeling of where I trust God, where I believe in God, to actually something substantial that you'll be able to take in day to day life to become not only an overcomer, but more than a conqueror. The Bible says the thing of being more than a conqueror is you come out ahead, you come out blessed, you come out plundering the camp of the enemy. That's the reality of more than a conqueror.

Conqueror. But it only comes by a life of faith. And again, you might think that you are walking that out, but it's good feeling to good feeling. And I'm trying to keep my dopamine up so that I don't get discouraged, so I don't get depressed. But it's not founded in the things that Produce faith that causes you to see and walk out the promises that God has for you.

See, there's a tension. There's a tension when you get a prophetic word or you read a promise from Scripture and then you pursue it over time and you don't yet see it fulfilled. There's a tension in there. How do you get to the place of the promise to the seeing mana you seeing it manifested in your life? How do you get from the by his wounds, we are healed to see it released in your life or your child that may be closer to home.

If you're believing for a family member to be healed or to be saved, or you're believing for provision, how do I go from the promises of Scripture concerning the provision of God that we see this overwhelming release of provision for the people of God, yet I don't see it in my life. How do I manage the tension and get to the place where I see it manifest? And the tension in the midst of it is faith. Faith is the currency of the kingdom. In the kingdom of God, faith gets everything.

Faith gets everything. There's nothing in the kingdom that doesn't come by faith. Many people believe that God responds to need. If God responded to need, we wouldn't have needs. God responds to faith.

He says, according to your faith, be it done to you. And I'm telling you that's an uncomfortable statement because it puts responsibility on my life. We prefer this sovereignty picture of God where whatever happens, God meant it to happen. He's using this thing in my life. Everything happens for a reason.

Sometimes that reason is because you're stupid.

I'm talking to me. I'm not talking to you. This is how I talk to myself. Some of the things that I'm in is because I did stupid things. Some of the things that I'm in is because I didn't fight when I needed to fight in the place of faith to get what his word says I can have because I just wanted God to do it.

Don't raise your hand if that's you. We want God just to do it. God, just do it. Let me sit around, eat my Cheetos and watch TV and show up to church once a week, pay attention a little bit. And we want you just to do it.

But listen, there is a fight of faith where you can have everything God has said in scripture. You can have all the healing. Not only that, it can be released through your life. Where when you come in to come into contact with a person who has cancer, that cancer must go. That Cancer must flee.

Because it is by faith that we receive all these precious promises. And the Bible says that it's by those precious promises that we participate in the divine nature of God. Faith. Faith gets everything. Fear, doubt, get nothing.

Faith gets everything. And God's going to help us tonight. One of the keys that. One of the ways that I see where someone is in faith is how they pray. Many times I'll hear prayers, God, if you would just.

God, you have so much and I've got so little. Why don't you just. How come you haven't just, oh Lord, I'm begging you. That comes from a lack of understanding of what you already have, what's already been made available to you. We're so often asking God and begging God for something he's already given and he's going, you already have it.

Well then how come I don't see it? Because it's accessed by faith and accessed by faith. Faith gets everything. So that's this. I'm just, I'm laying a groundwork, hopefully to stir your heart to go.

I want to grow in the place of faith because honestly, most Christians don't want to grow in faith because it requires work, it requires taking some responsibility, it requires stepping out on the water where if he doesn't show up, you're going to get all wet, you're going to get. It's going to be embarrassing or worse things could happen. There is a responsibility and there's a weight to it and we shy away from it because we just want God to do it. But he sent us here for a purpose and he's given us his authority, his power, his ability. You know, it's another uncomfortable verse.

It says in First John somewhere, I think it's 4:17. I'd have to go and look. As he is, so are we in this world. It's encouraging, but it's also difficult verse because are you doing what he did when you show up wherever you're showing up to at Walmart as He is, so am I at Walmart and you're running into people and blind eyes are opening. And when I say that, we make it far fetched, like, oh, that would be nice.

We make it far fetched like one day or one of us or no. His intention is for every single one of his people to walk in the place of anointing and faith, to see blind eyes open, to see deaf ears open, to see the lame walk, to see the dead raised from the dead, to see a release of provision, to see families saved, to See marriages healed. To see whatever work of the enemy that's come to bring destruction. The Bible says that he's came to destroy the works of the enemy. And we've inherited that ministry.

And so that's you. That's your ministry. Ministry. As he is, so are you in the world. So what does it take to walk in that ministry?

And effectiveness? Faith. We're going to walk by faith. Second Chronicles, chapter 20, verse 1. Why don't you stand?

We'll read the Word together.

Second Chronicles, chapter 20. New Living Translation verse 1. After this, the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Menites declared war on Jehoshaphat. Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, a vast army from Edom is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea. They are already at Hazazan.

Tamar. This was another name for En Gedi. Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting. So people from all the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord's help.

Go down to verse 13.

As all the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, wives and children, the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there. And his name was Jahaziel, son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jael, son of Mattaniah, a Levite who was a descendant of Asaph. He said, listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem. Listen, King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says.

Do not be afraid. Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's. Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight.

Take your positions then. Stand still and watch the Lord's victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for for the Lord is with you.

Let's pray. Father, we thank you for your word. The lamp unto our feet, a light upon our path. We pray for Revelation tonight. Spirit of God, I invite you and ask you to come and speak to us.

Give us ears to hear and hearts to respond. I ask that you'd anoint me during this time to preach your word, oh Lord God, to cause eyes to be open, to release Revelation, O Lord, on how to walk by faith, how to trust you to see your promises. Released, O Lord, to see your will done in our lives and in the earth today. We thank you for this time together. In Jesus name, Amen.

Amen. You can be seated. I'm going to sum up this story. We didn't read the whole thing. If you read Second Chronicles, chapter 20, as we began to read this huge army, actually multiple armies come together to come against the nation of Judah.

And at that time, Jehoshaphat was ruler over Judah. And they're faced with this insurmountable army that, that in other places it's listed as a multitude. When the Bible lists it as a multitude, it's too many to count. That's the intention. And so they're faced with this huge army that they would not be able in the natural to overcome.

So they cry out to God, they fast and they pray together. Jehoshaphat leads the nation in fasting and seeking God. God then speaks through Jehaziel the prophet and gives them a word and a tremendous word. Be strong, be courageous. Don't be afraid.

You're not going to have to fight. You're not going to have to. You just go stand and watch this victory. This is my battle. That's the word that they get.

And so what happens after this is they, the next day they head out, they obey the word of the Lord and they begin to head out towards the battle. And as they do so, and we're going to look at these different points, but God gives them a tremendous, tremendous victory. They get to the valley where they would have had to meet this army. And. And it says that all the armies were wiped out.

There was not one left. And not only that, as they went into that valley, it took them over three days to bring out all the plunder of this battle that they didn't have to fight. But in the midst of this, there are keys to walking in faith. Because it's one thing to get a word from God. It's another thing to come to the place to see the fulfillment of the Word from God.

And many in the midst of that tension don't make it to the fulfillment because nobody's taught them how to get to that place. And I love how the Old Testament has these stories. And again, when I say stories concerning the Old Testament, it's history, not just an illustration that someone wrote is his history. But we can take these Old Testament stories and it expresses and illustrates New Testament principles like how to walk by faith, not by sight. We tend to walk by sight.

We've got our senses.

When it says walk by sight. It's not just talking about what we can see, but what we can feel, what we can smell. And quite often those senses are the most can be the thing that influences us in our decisions the most or the quickest.

So let's begin. What did they do first to see this victory? Well, they shot the Lord. You're going to walk by faith. You've got to seek the Lord.

You've got to have some. You've got to have a relationship with Him. It begins by having that faith relationship where you ask him to be your Lord and Savior. If you go read the Book of Judges, it's some of the wildest stories in all the Bible where you go, God, why is this even in here? It's to show you what life looks like when instead of trusting God, instead of having a relationship with God, you have an idea of God.

And try and do your best in what you want to do. Go read Judges from that context because that's what happens from start to finish. And you see the fruit of it. The most difficult verse says, and everybody did what was right in their own eyes. And following that is some of the worst stories in all the Bible where terrible things that should never have happened, happened from people who thought that they were obeying God and serving God because they've had no real relationship.

So it begins with a real relationship. Many believe there's many ways to God. There's many ways to have a relationship. But we see in scripture very clearly that there is only one way. Jesus is the way.

There's no other way to have a relationship with God. Thanks. But through Jesus. And that happens by faith. Not doing good enough, not being good enough, not giving enough.

No, it is by faith alone that we receive salvation. Faith in his death on the cross that paid for our sins so we can have a right relationship with God that begins at the beginning. That relationship where we can seek the Lord, but another part of that is seeking the Lord.

First. I, I'm trying to be gentle on some of these things. However, when oftentimes we get maybe a symptom in our body of something, we run to many things other than seeking God. We run to easy things. Google ChatGPT, call my doctor, run to the hospital, run to the er.

Now, there are things to run to the ER for while you're seeking God. Okay, I'm not saying don't go to the doctor. I'm not saying don't get wise counsel. But I'm saying, are you seeking the Lord first? Or is he maybe if this other things don't work out, then I'm going to seek the Lord.

That's not where that relationship of faith begins. Can I tell you? I believe that many times the enemy will bring a symptom into your life so that you can claim it as your own. So you can claim the sickness as your own. A symptom comes and you're like, I have this.

You look it up on Google, you look it up on chat, you talk to your friends and they say, oh, this is. Oh, that happened to me. And it was this. And you begin to claim it. And what wasn't there, I believe begins to manifest.

Because by your faith in it, by your faith in the dot in the what ChatGPT said you appropriate what wasn't yours. We're going to get into some good stuff. But I had to bring that up because oftentimes we appropriate what the devil calls just normal life. We've been convinced by the enemy, but that the things of the world, the things the world gets, is what we have as the people of God. That's just life.

How many times have you heard that concerning decaying in your house? That's death. It's not life, it's death. And the enemies come to convince us that that's just how life goes. That's not how life goes.

That's how death goes. I get life. The Bible says. I don't want. I'm trying not to get ahead of myself because we're going to get to the Word and that's going to be the meat and potatoes of what we're talking about.

But the Bible says that I have life and have it more abundantly. It says in First John, he who is the Son has life, I have life. I'm believing for clear sight and strong body. All the days of my life. I'm believing not to decay, not to fall apart.

Why? Because the Bible says that I have life. Look, the Bible says that I have good things, that I'm fearfully and wonderfully made, that what God makes is good. This body is good. This is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

And the Holy Spirit quickens and brings life to this body.

How do I get there? We're just on number one on seeking the Lord. We're not even into the talking about the Word yet. Well, because are we seeking him first? They sought the Lord first in the story.

They didn't go to other nations, they didn't go to other gods. They went to the Lord and said, what do you want us to do? And go look we didn't read the prayer of Jehoshaphat. God, you're great. You're awesome.

You're amazing. You've done this in our nation. We've seen you do this. What do you want us to do? He sought the Lord.

All right, Number two, seek the Lord. Get a word. And we're going to stand on this. And there's a couple more points and we might have to fit them in at the end, but this is. You got to get a word from God.

I'm telling you. They were faced by this insurmountable multiple armies coming at them, one small nation of Judah against these three peoples that have come together as a multitude to wipe them off the face of the earth. But they sought God. And guess what? He gave them a word.

He gave them a word. And when you got a word from God, I want you to know you can stand upon that as truth. As the truth. As is not a suggestion. It is truth.

We don't have a clear concept of truth because for us, truth, kind of who's truth? We're talking ultimate truth. We're talking. There is no other. When God gives a word that is said, the Bible says that God be true and every man a liar.

The Word is true in every sense of the word. You know, when you're in construction and you want to build something that's true, you need standards by which to measure it, levels and things of that nature. The Word is true. And you can build your life on it such a way where you see the release of the practice promises of God in your life, in your children, in your finances, in your health. You got to get a word.

So they got a word. They got a word. What a word. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid.

You go out against them, stand and watch. I'm going to wipe them out. What a word. It sounds a whole lot like the promises that we have today through Jesus. He's already.

Listen, if you've not read through the New Testament, Jesus has already conquered every devil. He's already conquered sickness. The Bible says he's conquered hell, death and the grave. He's already provided. He's made full provision through the resurrection for every area of life.

And that's why it says that he has come, that we may have life and have it more abundantly. It says that he's given us everything that we need for life and godliness. All those things, he's already provided those for us. But if you don't know the Word, you own access and you got to get a word. They got a word and it made all the difference.

Do you have a word? The Word. And I'm not necessarily talking about a prophetic word, though, that we can talk about that as well. I'm talking about the Bible that we have today. The Word of God is true.

Everything that you find within here you can apply as true. When he says, by his wounds you are healed. That is true. When we talk about the Word, we often compartmentalize it as a book on our end table.

But when I talk about my Word, me, Pastor Tim says, I'm going to do something for you. What is that dependent upon? Oh, my character, my integrity. Who I am. It is founded in who I am.

That's my Word. And so are you going to trust my word? Depends on the kind of relationship we have. Have I proved myself? Have I.

Have I stood up to my Word? And we often don't think about the Scriptures as God stretching out his hand, giving his word. I'm giving you my word. The Bible, it says in the Book of John that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. This isn't some dead word.

This is the Word. Jesus who came and lived and you know, he went through everything that. Listen, I want you. I need you to hear me. The Word has gone through temptation.

The Word has gone through betrayal. The Word has gone through beatings. The Word has gone through every form of suffering that's common to man and prevailed. Why? How do we know that?

Because it says Jesus has. And Jesus is. Is the Word. So when you come to this Word, it's not some cold information. No, it's the living Lord and Savior who has.

Who has been born and died and was resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father and is connected to us. This is communion. And so when you read it, he's giving you His Word. He's giving you His Word. He's given you His Word.

And your trust in that is dependent upon your revelation of his integrity.

How he's proved himself. That's the walk of faith where he gives us a word. He says, do this, and we obey. And he responds. We find out he's good.

He does what he says and amazing. And we obey. And oh, more revelation. And he proves himself in our faithfulness. He proves himself faithful because without, listen, without faith, you'll never find out about his faithfulness.

Get a word from God. What are you going through today? What are you believing for? What has the enemy brought into your life? Can I tell you one of the things he does is he will come into your life with a thing completely opposite as what God desires to do in and through your life.

But what the Lord will do is if you'll hold on to his word, if you'll get a word, if you'll hold on to what the Scriptures say and you wage a good warfare with it and come through the other side, what happens is that the Lord will use that which you've gone through, what the enemy meant, to wipe you out, as the weapon, specifically through your life, to bring others out. That's more than a conqueror. Not only did I overcome for my life, but now I'm bringing others out with me.

Get a word. They got a word from God. Are you studying His Word? Is His Word in you? Do you know of it?

I'm trying not to take too long. We've already gone quite a bit already in this. But let me say this. One of the tells for me is if I go to talk to someone and they're going through something, maybe it's a health thing, and I say, the Bible says he sent His Word and healed them. And if the person says, oh yeah, I know, automatically, I know that they're not receiving from faith because they know.

Because when you're hungry and you're connected, you're receiving from the Word. Anytime, anytime you hear those things, it's a download, it's encouragement. It's something. You want to speak that to me in my life, I receive it. I receive it.

And so when I hear that from people, I know that they're not here. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word. It doesn't say faith comes by having heard. It comes by hearing. It's a continual life in the Word where you're hearing.

If you're believing for something, healing, miracle, whatever breakthrough it is, get it, get a word, keep getting more. Go dive in Scripture. Study it, write it out, memorize it. You know, one of the most powerful things that you can do is speak the Word to yourself. Declare the Word over your own life.

Get a word. I talk to myself all day long. All day long. By his wounds, I'm healed. I thank you, Lord.

You sent your Word and healed me. I thank youk, oh Lord. It says that yout are the God who heals. Father, I thank youk. It says that yout sent yout Son who came and died upon the cross.

And by his wounds I am healed. It has already been done. He said, it is finished. Jesus, you said, I am willing be healed. Oh, that's just A tasting.

That's just a bit of it. What do you want? What do you. What do you want? Finances, maybe you're dealing with a financial thing.

You know what you should sound like? A nut job all day long if you're believing for financial breakthrough, you should get in the Word. And you sound like a nut all day long. You know what that sounds like? God, I thank you that your Word says that you have blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.

I thank you. Your Word says in Proverbs that your blessing makes me rich and adds no sorrow to it. God, I thank you. Thank you. It says that in Deuteronomy that you give the power to create wealth and thus thus prove your.

Your promises to us. God, I thank you, Lord, that I'm the head and not the tail. The lender, not the borrower. I'm above and not beneath. I'm blessed.

Coming in, I'm blessed. Going out, I'm blessed in the city, I'm blessed in the field. I thank you, oh Lord God, that your blessing is upon my life. Pressed down, shaken again, shaken together, running over is being added to me. The wealth of the wicked is.

Has been stored up for me, the righteous. You know, I can keep going. You know why? Because I. I've. I've been in the Word.

But if you don't get in the Word, you've got nothing to fight with. You've got nothing to. To wage war with. You've got nothing to hold on to. The Bible says faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

People will say, well, I believe it when I see it. You don't need faith then when you see it, you don't need faith. Faith is in the tension between the promise or what you're believing for. The hope, vision, and the manifestation of it. Faith is the journey in between.

Faith is the substance in between. Faith is what you hold on to. That's why Jesus gave them the illustration of a house built upon the rock and a house built upon the sand. And when the storm came, the house built upon the same on the sand was knocked flat. But the house on the rock which represent the Word stayed strong.

The Word is that substance where you can weather the storms of life, the storms of the enemy, not life. The storms that the enemy brings in the midst of this life. And you can overcome. Listen, you're already an overcomer. The Bible says everyone born of God has overcome this world.

And what is the victory that's overcome this world? Even our faith. But you've got to begin to understand the overcoming that overcomer you already are and stand upon his word so that you can weather the storm and come out blessed on the other side.

Get a word.

Number three.

Obey the word.

You mean I got to do something?

I don't know how many times I'll see or hear somebody. I get this, got this prophetic word or the God spoke to me or read this in scripture, and they never do anything with it. It. They never do anything with it, and they never see the breakthrough. They had to get up in our story, in the history, in this story.

They had to get up after getting the word. Imagine that night, wrestling. Oh, the army. But the word. Oh, what they're.

What they're going to do is, oh, but God said he's going to do this. Oh, what about our kids? God's going to give us victory. The wrestling, I believe, throughout the night and getting up the next day and marching out against an army you could never defeat because you had a word. And you've got to take action when you get a word.

There's a story where Jesus says to these lepers, they had not leopards, lepers, they had leprosy. And they came to him for healing. And he says something interesting and he tells them to go to the priests with the. With an offering. I'm paraphrasing.

And what's interesting about that is what he's telling them to do is go to the priest who would be the only one to declare them clean because they were unclean. They couldn't go in the temple. They couldn't be in normal society. They couldn't. They were separated because of their sickness.

So Jesus, in, while they're still in the midst of their sickness, tells them to carry the offering to the priest who would declare them healed. And it says, as they went, they were healed as they went. You've got to take the word and begin. Take steps of faith. Maybe it's with your finances.

Get your finances in order. Maybe it's with your health, get your health in order. Oh, God gave me a word, and so I'm just going to lay here until he does it. No, you begin to do what you can do in the midst of it. God will release his power upon your life to accomplish what he said he's going to accomplish.

But you've got to obey. You've got to step out in faith, the walk of faith. Not a couch of faith, not a lay of faith. It's a journey. It's a fight.

The apostle Paul talks About it as a fight, as a race, you've got a part to play.

So they had to obey the word. And number four. This is very interesting. We didn't read this. Verse 20.

Well, this is where they head out. Early the next morning, the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way, Jehoshaphat stopped and said, listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets and you will succeed.

After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang. Give thanks to the Lord his feet Faithful love endures forever.4. Praise in the process. Praise in the process.

They, as they get out, they get up in the morning, they begin to head out. And the king does a tremendous thing. He probably sees the faces of his people going.

And maybe looking off to maybe edging off to the edges of the procession to drop off into the woods, because we're going to get wiped out. Because in the midst of it, you've got to remind yourself and your problem who your God is. So he stops everything and he makes a statement. Listen to me. Believe in the Lord your God.

He points them back to God and then establishes praise as they begin to head out. Now, this is backwards from what would normally happen. You're going to praise. You're going to bang drums, you're going to praise. After you see the victory, right?

With an army and you go and you get victory, you're coming out praising, you're coming back to the city praising. But the people of God, we have victory before we get to the battle. Because he's already shed. It's. He said it's finished.

He said, if you've got a word from God, it is done. If you can follow through in the midst of it, Though they could praise in the process because God had already given them a word that he was going to give them victory. The victory was his, and that's as good. It's done already. If he said it, it's done already.

You've got to get it into your spirit that if he said it, it is done already. That's why we move from by his wounds we are healed in Isaiah to Second Peter by his wounds we were healed. Why? Because Isaiah was written before he was crucified. Second Peter was written after he was crucified.

By his wounds we were healed. Why? Because it's been done it is finished. And so you praise in the process because you know it's done. Faith praises in the process, in attention on the way to it, because we know it's been done.

And it keeps our eyes off of all the junk and all the naysayers and all the people that are going to say, you know, you need to go get a second opinion. I've got an opinion from God. I've got a diagnosis. By his wounds, I'm healed.

But you've got to praise in the midst of it.

I'll say this about that. Before we get to the last point, You need that praise to realign your perspective.

Because the enemy comes in the night and your pastor won't answer his phone. Not because he doesn't want to, but there is orchestrated times where nobody will answer. I've seen it. I've been in it. I've had it happen.

I've seen other people go through it. And you've got to have these substantial things set up in your life. Seeking the Lord, getting a word, obeying the word, praising in the process. So when the darkness comes, when the enemy whispers, you can speak what you declare the goodness of God. You declare the faithfulness of God.

What is the. What do they say? Give thanks to the Lord. His faithful love endures forever. His faithful love.

He's not going to leave them. He's not going to forsake them. You've got to remind yourself of these things. So what does that look like in the night? What does that look like in the day?

When you get a diagnosis, when you get whatever it may be. God, I thank you that your word says and you fill in the blank. I thank you that you've come through time and again for my people. From the beginning of time. You come through for your people and you're the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I thank you. You never leave me or forsake me. I thank you, oh Lord God, that I'm your child and that you're working within my life, that you turn all things for good for those that love you and walk according to your purpose. You praise him and it'll sustain you. Lastly, follow through verse 24.

We read it already.

Actually, I'm going to back up one more time because I started preaching a little earlier than normal. And Pastor Daniel went to like 9:45 last Wednesday or something.

So anytime I. I get done, it's going to be earlier. All right. But look at verse 22, just again, talking about praising in the process. At the very moment they began to sing and give praise. The Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves as the very moment they began to sing and praise God brought about the victory.

And at the very moment they begin praise brought about, initiated, initiated their breakthrough, initiated their miracle. Those praises. There's something that happens. It's not just for you, but it breaks something in the supernatural. There's a reason that you've got to open up your mouth.

There's a reason that you've got to pray out loud. There's a reason that you've got to sing and you've got to praise out loud. It's not only for you, your encouragement, because it. But it changes the supernatural when we speak. The Bible says that the power of life and death are in the tongue.

And those who love it will eat the fruit of it. What we declare changes the atmosphere. It changes the supernatural.

I'm trying to judge how much I'm going to try go through this quickly. Anybody in native fellowship has heard this a hundred times by now. But your words have so much power that you're going to be judged for idle ones. That is how powerful your word. The Bible says in the New Testament that you'll be judged for even idle words.

So that means our words have power. What kind of power? Well, the Bible says that in the beginning, God gave authority and dominion to Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve, sin and forfeited that to the enemy. And you may not like this, but that gave him authority and dominion in the earth.

That's why the Bible calls him the prince of the power of the air. The God of this age. He has dominion. He has authority. But guess what?

When Jesus came and lived a life without sin and died upon the cross, he bro. He took the keys to hell, death and the grave. And he. He bought back the dominion and the authority. And what happens is that when you receive Christ, you become born of.

Born again. Not of flesh, but of spirit. You begin born again into the same family that Jesus is in. You know how we know that is because the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and Jesus was born through Mary, but by the Spirit. When we're born again, yes, we are still here in the natural, but we've been born into the spirit.

We born of God, not of flesh. And things have changed. You're a new creation. Well, yeah, we've heard that. You don't get it.

You don't get it. We don't get it. You are a new creation. You're outside of the laws of this world. The Bible says that Romans 8:2.

The law of the spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death. The law of sin and death that has come into the world. But I've been set free from. Now, having said all that, what do we talk? I'm talking about speaking out praise and how it makes.

It changes things. The enemy has dominion. Jesus has brought, bought that back. Every child of God, every believer, everyone who's been born again. When you speak, you speak with the authority of the kingdom.

The kingdom of God. The kingdom is not just heaven in the sweet. By and by we've relegated the kingdom to a one day perspective. But Jesus throughout his ministry and onward has taught us that it's now the kingdom is now the kingdom is God's rule today. And where the, where the king is.

And if he's in you, if you're born again, he's in you, then that's where the kingdom is. And so when you declare and you, you decree and you pray, it comes from the kingdom. And the power of the kingdom is released into this natural world and changes things. And so as they open up their mouth and begin to pray, in the midst of the process, it released breakthrough in the supernatural. We don't have time to go into it, but Moses did the same thing as he stood upon the mountain with the hill with the rod of God in his hand.

And Joshua, Joshua and the army were fighting below him. And as his hands were up, Joshua and the Israelites were overcoming the enemy. Why? Because the battle was decided in the supernatural. It's the same when you praise, when you speak, when you declare, lastly, musicians, would you come lastly follow through.

I already said that. Don't stop, don't quit. Please, please, please. He's going to. He's going to do it.

He's going to do it. It's in the works. He's doing it already. I haven't fleshed this all out already, but there's a connection. Do I say it?

Do I say it? There's a connection here.

In the Garden of Eden. After Adam and Eve sinned, they hid. And when God found them, he asked them why were they hiding? And they said, because we're naked. And Jesus and God says, who told you you were naked?

And there's a connection there between what happens today. Who told you you were sick and you're going to die? Who told you that you're going to be in poverty? Who told you these things? Because it's contrary to my word.

It's contrary to what I'VE said, even though there was some truth because of what their actions had done, God comes against the word of the enemy and says, who told you that? Who told you you were naked? Who told you that you were going to die of that thing? I said, you're going to live and not die and declare the good things of the Lord. But you've got to follow through.

Don't quit. Who told you that? When you got prayed for and you didn't see it manifest right away that. That healing is not happening in your body. Who told you?

And we walk away dejected. I guess healing is not for today.

And we change our theology to fit our experience. In a moment, God heals some people. It's not his will to heal everyone. It is his will to heal everyone. But our disappointment and our lack of understanding can cause us to change our theology.

Our beliefs follow through.

I'll tell you a quick story. I believe it was Kenneth Hagin. I think it was Hagen, Might have been Oral Roberts, one of the two. I listened to a lot of messages and a lot of books and a lot of things. One of the great fathers of the faith movement, healing movement, the early fathers, Hagin or Oral Roberts, had a stroke, and one side of his face was numb and sagging.

And he obeyed the Word which says, there are any sick among you, go to the elders of the church. They'll pray for you in the prayer of faith shall heal the sick. That's the word. There's. There's.

There's nothing else? Well, no. Well, get the wells and the buts out. It's the word shall heal the sick. And that's how he applied it.

Even though he walked away and in the natural, his face was still sagging on one side. And he goes to this family's house and he's talking about being healed. And they said, well, you know, you're not healed yet. Said, oh, I'm healed because it says, prayer of faith shall heal the sick. He has dinner with them, goes home in the night.

He's completely healed. Every effect of the stroke gone.

Sees the family the next day, oh, you're healed. Says, I was healed yesterday. That is faith. That is faith, where the Word is your reality. The Word is what's real, the Word is what's true.

Not the symptom, not what people are saying, not the discouragement, not what the enemy saying, but what the word says is true, and you follow through. How long till you see it manifest?

Don't stop. Don't quit. He's doing it this is a word for somebody. He's doing it. You maybe again, maybe healing.

You've been believing for healing and you've come up for prayer and you've left discouraged. Who told you you were naked? Who told you you weren't healed? Who told you that in that moment, as it says that prayer of faith shall heal the sick. Go away discouraged.

I mean encouraged. Praising God because of the word. Well, I don't see it. You've got to see it here. Get it here and you will see it manifest.

Oh, what about so and so who was such a person of faith and they died in their thing. That's not you. I don't know what they did. I don't know what they said. I don't know where their faith was.

I'm not a judge of them. I'm. I'm responsible for me, for my faith, for how I approach the word, for how I see God.

God wants to release his promises in your life.

There are those here you're believing for, not just provision to be become one that releases finances into the kingdom, where you become someone that God can release. Release resources through. There are people in here and the enemies come in like a flood trying to discourage you.

Get a word, get in the word. Fight the good fight. You will see it. You will see it. Apply these principles.

Thank you, Lord. Why don't you stand up on your feet? I'm going to pray for us.

God's word is true. I keep having to say it because we don't approach the word rightly. For the most part it is true. What he told you he's going to do, he's going to do. He is faithful.

Well, I hope you were encouraged by God's word. Thank you again for listening to Kings Alaska podcast. God bless you. For more great content, go to kcalaska.com and may God's face shine upon you and give you peace. Sa.
