In this message, “He Has No Hold on Me,” Pastor Daniel Bracken teaches from John 14:28–31, where Jesus declares that the prince of this world has no hold over Him. Because Jesus was sinless, Satan had no claim or authority over Him—and through Christ’s victory, believers have been given the power to overcome the enemy.

Pastor Daniel challenges us to come under the Shepherd’s rod and honestly examine our lives for anything that could give the enemy a foothold. Temptation, sin, deception, unresolved wounds, and unchecked attitudes can become areas the enemy uses to hinder what God wants to accomplish through us. But Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and completely set us free. Rather than tolerating what Christ has delivered us from, we can take hold of God’s Word, walk in obedience, exercise our spiritual authority, and live in the victory Jesus has already won.

Hi, this is Pastor Daniel Bracken. You're listening to Kings Alaska Podcast. I hope the Word encourages you and you get a touch from God that brings transformation and equips you to experience life with people, power and purpose. Thank you for joining us. Enjoy the word.

John, chapter 14. Find the 28th verse. Appreciate you. Appreciate. Appreciate our.

Thank you. Appreciate our ushers as well. Thank you, gentlemen. John 14:28. If you're all there, say I am reading from the new international version today.

Special message. It's going to start a new series next week called the seven, and we'll tell you more about that at the end of the service. John 14, verse 28 to 31. Let's go. You heard me say I'm going away and coming back to you.

If you love me, you would be glad that I'm going to the Father. For the Father is greater than I. I've told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe.

I will not say much more to you. For the Prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me. Would you say that he has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what what my Father has commanded me. Come, let us leave.

Father, thank you for your word and thank you for what you're going to do. Help me.

Help me communicate what you've burned in my heart and what I've been walking through the past few days. Thank you for mountains being moved. Thank you for breakthrough. Thank you for what you're going to do. In Jesus name, Amen.

You may be seated.

I. I don't have canned messages.

I don't have canned messages. I don't get my messages from, you know, preacher.com. in actual fact, this message had a deep impact in my life when I first heard it, when and that would be 2005, I believe from this text. And Dr. Morocco preached it all those years ago and I was deeply impacted by it. And it just so happened this week a number of things took place that I began to ask hard questions of myself.

It's good to ask hard questions. You ought to ask hard questions. And as I did that, I came face to face with certain aspects of my personality that he wanted to temper. You know what temper is.

And my wife helped me profoundly as she always does. And, and in prayer, I just began to hear different phrases in certain scriptures just coming to life. And this text is so profound. It's how the message came in. Introduction, Setting here of what's Taking place.

Jesus is gonna. He's gonna go and he's telling them, but they have no idea. They, they, they, they're. They're clueless about what's about to happen. And he's constantly trying to tell them.

He said, I'm, you know, John 14, verse 6. I'm the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to me, but no one comes to the Father except by me. He's. He's preparing them, he's readying them.

And I do believe, in a way, we are being readied for the coming of the Lord. Of course, it's applicable now, as we are his disciples. He said things like, if you've seen me, you've seen the Father. He made everybody. He made all kinds of people upset.

The Pharisees, Sadducees, he shocked them and he said. He said, the works that I will do, you will do greater. I remember talking to a Baptist friend of mine, and he said, well, really, what he's talking about is salvation. He's talking about, you know, you're going to lead people to Jesus, and that's the greatest. That's greater things.

Salvation is absolutely the greatest miracle there could ever be. If you've given your life to Jesus, he's taken out the heart of stone. You're born, you've repented of your sin. Your name is written in the Lamb book of life. If that's you, say so right now.

Come on, come on, come on, come on. Give him praise. Does anybody remember what it was like in your old life? You remember what it was like being broken? You remember what it was like being bound?

Do you remember what it was like being oppressed? Do you remember what it was like hearing voices in the night? Does anybody else besides me remember that? I remember that. I'm so glad that the Lord has set me free.

I'm so glad that he delivered me. I'm so glad. He snatched me me like a stick from the fire. Come on, give him praise in the house of God. Don't ever forget it.

It's the greatest miracle there could ever be. Shout Amen one more time. You have to get so excited. Let me just tell you, if your salvation doesn't get you excited, your wood's wet, you become a religious person, something's wrong.

So he's preparing them and he's. He's teaching them, he's instructing them. And it is quite a moment for the life of the disciples. Greater works will you do than these? It's not just salvation, you know.

This week I was talking to one of the brothers who comes to morning prayer faithfully, and he was believing for a miracle for his father who had cancer. And as I get the story straight, I don't see him tonight, but as the story was told to me just randomly, the whole thing's in remission. His f. His father no longer has cancer. And the doctors are like, dude, I guess it's in remission, which means gone. How did that happen?

Prayer. Another brother in our church was believing God for his house to sell. Came up for prayer, was prophesied over him. Is going to be a bidding war. Your house is going to sell.

Fifteen minutes later, in another part of the nation, 15 minutes later, there is a bidding war over his house. He gets offers, the house sells. 15 minutes. Come on, somebody say, praise the Lord. There are.

There is healing divine. There is breakthrough. There is, yes, salvation, but salvation truly. Sozo means he does it all. Come on, somebody say he heals it all.

I was listening to this podcast year. A year or two ago, actually probably three years. Time flies when you're having fun. And it was this Nigerian pastor who said from the pulpit, if you come to this church and you fully embrace the vision and you fully invade, embrace the Word, and you are part of the prayer meetings and you begin to serve you. You will become the head of whatever you're doing.

You will be promoted, you will be elevated, you will rise to every single occasion. The Lord will bless you in this city, he will bless you in the field. And if that doesn't happen at whatever church you're going to, if that doesn't happen, then you should leave. So that's why I would listen. I was like, whoa, I wonder if I would ever say that.

And I thought, is that true? Yeah, that. That. That is true. And I will tell you that every person I know now, I've known a lot of people that have come and gone, not talking about them because they gone.

I don't know what happened. But people that have come and committed, like this couple right here, I mean, you were on drugs, you were a mess. You were jacked up. Look at you. Isn't God amazing?

Any person that's come and fully embrace God's word, fully embraced salvation, fully embraced discipleship, starts praying, starts reading the Word, starts tithing, starts obeying, starts living for God. And I don't mean part time. I don't mean like one foot in the kingdom and the other foot in.

You don't want to put your foot in stuff like that. Anybody ever step in it if you fully embrace God, you will live a life of breakthrough. And every battle you're in, you will win. It's not that there's no battles. There's battles, there's difficulties, there's trials.

Here's the thing. The reason that is is because we've been redeemed. The reason that is is because a sinless savior came. The Galilean, the Nazarene. He came.

God looked for one who would stand in the gap, but could find none. So he sent his only son, born of a Virgin, fulfilling over 300 Scriptures in His advent. 300 Scriptures? 300. Taking the sin of the world for all who believe and.

And writing our names on the Lamb's book of life. He was a substitutionary. Death. You deserve death. Bump your neighbor and say you deserve death.

Yeah, we all deserve death. Everyone deserved death. Everyone deserves hellfire. Everyone but Jesus came to take your sin away. Then everybody saved.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Not everybody say everybody's God's child though, right? No. Say no, no. Not everybody's God's child.

Everybody's made in God's image. Isn't that right, Doctor? Yes, sir.

Not everybody's God's child. You become his child by being born again. If you're not born again, then you're under the control of the devil. And if you don't believe that, then I'm gonna read scripture to you. I'm getting a ahead of myself.

That's the setting of what's taking place. He says. He says to them why he's preparing them for his departure. Look at verse 30.

I will not say much more to you in your notes now. For the prince of this world is coming. Satan is coming. That's what he said. The prince of this world is that Satan.

That is Satan.

He's seen as the God of this world. John 12 and 31. Now is the time for judgment on this world. Now the prince of this world will be driven out. The prince of this world is not the prince of peace.

It's Lucifer.

John 16:11. And regard to judgment. Because the prince of this world now stands condemned again. Talking about diablo. That's Spanish for devil.

The whole world is under the control or the sway. The. The. The NIV says control the sway. The rule.

And he's the father of all those who don't believe on Jesus. Which brings me back to what I was saying. Take your Bibles. Turn with me to John 5. First John 5, first John.

Epistle first John 5. He's the Father of all those who don't believe in Jesus. You mean he was my father before I got born again? Precisely, yes. And you acted like it.

Too many of you. Some of you had nice devils.

Listen to this. First John 5:19. We know that we are children of God and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. Come on, read it with me out loud. First John 5:19.

We know that we are children of God and that the whole world is okay. Don't ever forget that. It is life and death. It is light and dark. There is spiritual war.

There's war. And you are in the arms of the Lord. You've been born again. You've been redeemed. You are not under the can say, I'm not under the control of the devil because I'm born again.

Okay? If you're not born again, then you are. I don't care how good you look tonight. I don't care how in shape you are and what nice boots and clothes you have. You still a child of the devil?

That's intense. Bump your neighbor and say, wow, I'm so glad I came on Wednesday night.

I won't ask you to raise your hand if you know some children of the devil, but it's everybody that's not a believer. That's offensive. I had somebody say, you know, you shouldn't do that. That's offensive.

I. I'm not here to. I'm not here to just, you know, to candy coat it. I want to be filled with love. You need to speak the truth in love. But the word of God offends.

So if you're not born again, you're a little Satan worshiper and you need to come to Jesus. Amen.

Well, it doesn't mean necessary to purposely worshiping him. But you are a child of the devil. If you're not born again, you say that's offending people. No, it really isn't. I want somebody to tell me the truth.

Come on. If you have some nasty thing and you. If you have bad breath, whenever someone offers you a mint, just say yes. Because bad breath is like pride. You're usually the last one to know.

And if you have bad breath or pride or anything in between and somebody confronts you about it, you what. What should you do? You should be teachable and you should repent and you should change. So if you were going to hell, wouldn't you want somebody to tell you, I wasn't much motivated by that? Because.

Because I. I mean, you're going to hell. Without Jesus, I'm like, whatever. I'm living in hell, actually. But hell is much worth worse. Even if you feel like you're living in it.

It is no comparison to actual Lake of Fire. No comparison.

Satan hates you. Here's the interesting thing, really. Although Jesus was killed by him, Satan had no right to do so.

John 10 and 18.

No one takes it from me talking about his life, but I lay it down of my own accord. This is Jesus talking about his life. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This the command I received from my father. John 8.

42 for you note takers. Jesus said to them, if God were your Father, you would love me. Who? This is such good preaching right here. Are you ready?

Okay, put your. Put your tray in the upright lock position. Just tighten your seat belt a little bit. Here you go. Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God, and now I am here.

I've not come on my own, but he sent me. Verse 43 of John 8. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you're unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the Devil, and you want to carry out your Father's desire.

He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth. What a great service. I'm just really enjoying this. Lift your hands. Oh, it's fantastic.

We should get back to it. I just, just, Just a commercial break. I just felt joy all over. I love the truth.

Why is my. I'm backing up. I'm gonna read it again. Verse 43 is. Why is my language not clear to you?

Because you're unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the Devil, and you want to carry out your Father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to truth. For there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language.

He is a liar and the Father of lies. Behind Judas, behind the religious leaders, behind the soldiers, behind Pilate, behind the crowd, behind the charade of the court and the case, the trial. Behind all of that was the ugly devil. And I want to tell you, behind many of the things in your life that you're facing difficulty in, it is the devil trying to stop you. And sometimes that.

That there's things in us that cause that to happen. And again, I'm getting ahead of myself. We war not against. Forget it. In your spirit.

We war not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities. Demons are real. Darkness is real. Satan Is real. And he works in very unique ways to twist you.

And I think this week I've been astounded once again. Thirty years serving God and I've been astounded at. Like. Jack. That's some tricky.

That's some devilry right there. That's some tricky devilry trying to operate in me.

I'm trying. Come on. Somebody say hallelujah.

Jesus gave himself out of obedience to the Father as a ransom. As a ransom? As a what? As a ransom. You ever heard of a ransom note?

I bind that foul thing right now in Jesus name I pray even tonight under the anointing. I call that. That beautiful. That beautiful daughter of God's being set free. And.

And that right now in Jesus name there's. There's a precious. Can I say it? There's a precious relative of theirs that is being held captive and they're. They're trying to find her.

They're trying to find.

Jail's good.

We've been praying for her to be delivered. She was found and she's in jail. We're very happy about that. Jail could be a really safe place for people. She was being held with a ransom note.

Fork up the money or we're going to kill her with an overdose of whatever was real. This just happened the past three days. Safe. Hallelujah. Listen, I'm telling you, prayer works.

I mean, how many times we gotta say it? Oh, what are we gonna do? What do you mean? All we can do now is pray. What do you mean?

All you can do? Is that like your last resort? It should be the first thing. I'm gonna celebrate one more time. She's free.

Thank you, Lord. Now release the rest of the plan. She's gonna preach. She's gonna to write books. I prophesy.

She's going to be powerfully used to set people free. And if we can help in that, you just let us know.

He gave his life as a ransom. There was a ransom note. They didn't pay it. Cops got involved. They found her and she's rescued and she's in jail, which we're very thankful for.

It's an interesting phrase here.

Jesus says. Which is the title of the message verse. Look at verse 30B. Do you know what that means? I had somebody say, what do you mean?

What is a verse? Okay, the Bible is. They didn't write with chapter numbers when they. When the Bible was written. You're reading a translation of it.

It's written in Hebrew and Aramaic sections in the Old Testament. Aramaic. New Testament is written In Greek. So you're reading a translation of that depending upon what translation you have. If it's a New World translation, you should burn it.

There's some bad translations, I think there's 26 sound foundations, 26 sound translations of the Bible, and they're growing and there's phrase by phrase, there's word by word. There's paraphrased on and on and on.

This phrase right here in John 14, we put chapter numbers so we can find where what we're talking about. And then the verses is the little number in front of the sentence. I had somebody ask me, what's the little number in front of the sentence called the verse, and that's how you find where we're reading. So John 14, verse 30B. There could be a, B, C, A is the first sentence in that verse.

B is the. Exactly. So John 14, 30. B. He talking of Satan has no hold over me.

Say that he has no hold over me. This is Jesus. Words in red. He has no hold over me. So what's profound about that?

There's many things that are profound. If. If he had no hold over Jesus. I mean, what does that even mean? It's a Hebrew phrase, a Hebrew expression used in a legal sense.

And having no claim over somebody, having no claim over them, no authority over them. And you do not. This microphone belongs to me. This is my mic. If you.

My microphone, if you look at it, it has actually on it, it says, pastor, this. Me, I use this mic. And I generally don't like anybody else using it. Why? Because.

Because it's got my breath on it. And it's. And it's EQ for me, and it's mine. I have hold over. This is my mic.

Somebody says that's his. Okay. So when it says he has no hold over me, Jesus is revealing something profound.

Is it possible that Satan could have a hold on Jesus? No. Why? Because he was sinless.

Because he's what? He's sinless and we're going to get into it. He's sinless. The sinless Savior had no claim over somebody. Jesus is not of the world.

He's not a part of this human system. This, this evil and rebellion. He's not from it. So Jesus could say this. As I just said, Jesus could say it because he did not sin.

He did not what sin. He overcame every temptation and therefore didn't sin. Think about this. Think about when he's in the. In the.

In the wilderness. He's in the desert, Satan comes to tempt him. And how Did Jesus win? Well, he used by. He won by using the word.

He was constantly tempted. Bow down and worship me. I love the one part where he says he's fasting 40 days. And from the scriptures, it's an absolute fast. No water, no, no food.

Don't do that. You're not God and you'll die. You can do an absolute fast for three days, which is no water and no food. But you better be sure that God called you to it. And I would highly suggest you drink water after that.

Jesus had no food, no water. He's 100 God, but also man. He's fully man. And as such was able to be the substitutionary death for you and me. But when he's tempted, what does Jesus, what, what does Jesus hear from Satan?

He says, if you be the son of God, cause these stones to be turned into. Into what? Now if you hadn't eaten anything. Listen, I'd eaten bread in a long time and if I was on a 40 day fast, I would want to eat some bread, but it would not be a temptation for me. Watch, listen to this.

You know why it wouldn't be a temptation for me? Because I can't turn no rocks into no loaf of bread. But why would it be a temptation for Jesus? Because Jesus can turn rocks into bread. I love that.

Why would that be? Turn this rock into a steak.

I can't turn a rock into a state. Why would that be a temptation for Jesus? Because Jesus could turn a rock into bread. And if he would fail that test, a test of, of self preservation. If he would fail that test to test, to meet his own need, which he was really hungry.

Anybody ever fasted? You can smell food through walls. No, I like, I can smell through brick walls. I know what that is. I know what that is.

Driving down the, driving down the highway, going past Burger King. Why the smokestackage is blowing burger juice into the air. All those years ago, fasting be like, I find the devil right now.

He overcame every temptation and therefore he did not sin, pride, self pity, he dealt with it all. He was in all points tested and yet was without sin. The scripture says self preservation. You think about Peter, you know, the pumpkin eater. Just kidding, Just making sure you're paying attention.

Peter, Peter's name, His name before he got changed to Cephas or the rock before he got changed that, what was his name? Simon. So he's been, he's been Peter for, for quite a while. And then Jesus says to him, simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as Wheat. But I've prayed for you that your faith might not fail.

And he's, oh, that won't fail before the, yeah, yeah, you're going to fail. And you know, he denies the Lord three times. He curses. He runs from a little girl to fire.

He comes to his senses. And he wept bitterly. The key of that is Simon. Simon. Simon had.

Watch this. Satan had a hold in Simon. Satan had no hold in Jesus. There was something in the makeup of Simon that made him a candidate for sifting pride. He was constantly putting his foot in his mouth.

A lot of great qualities, but he had pride. Not me. Oh, I'll never leave you. Huh?

Now, Jesus overcame by the word and by being full of the spirit. So as such, Jesus death could therefore. Watch the bouncing ball. Jesus death therefore could destroy Satan's work because of what Jesus did. Sinless, fully gone, Fully man.

Take away the sin of the world. Yeshua, which means Joshua, or he'll save his people from their sins. We say Jesus, usually in the Gentile church. Yeshua, it's Joshua. Joshua in the Old Testament is a type and shadow of, of the Lord, bringing them through into the promised land.

All of that. And Jesus, he could be the substitute for your sin and mine because he was sinless and therefore as such destroy the work of the devil through all who would then be translated out of darkness into the kingdom of the sun. He said, I want to be translated out of dark. Then you got to be born again. Otherwise you stay a child of the devil.

You want to divorce yourself from the devil. You want to leave his family, get saved, get born again. Give your life to Jesus, not some stupid little church thing. Now, if I go to church, I don't care how many times you go to church. I hope you keep going to church.

But, but, but, but I especially hope that you hear what I'm saying right now. Because. Because the enemy wants to put his fingers in your ears and get you just to think it's some religious thing. There is a war going on. Lives are being lost, lives are being won.

People are being saved. People are dying. God wants to raise you up to be mighty in the land. Now, how is that going to happen? Well, you got to make sure he doesn't have a hold on you.

I read this, I read this text, and I was just like, lord, how about, he had no hold on you? I got that. But immediately I started thinking maybe about me. I'm like, how about, are we good? Come on, lay hands on yourself and ask if you're good.

Gonna get in the head again. But that's a good question to ask. Does the enemy have a hold on you?

We have the same power that Jesus did. We have the same resurrection power working on the inside. You're able to overcome the devil once you're born again. Once you've received him, you filled with the spirit, you have authority, you have power. We're seeing so many answers to prayer.

That's a straight answer to prayer thing got exposed over and over and over. In fact, August really is a month of answered prayer. But I'm getting ahead of myself. If you look at Hebrew root stuff which I'll. I'll teach another time.

Don't have time for. For it. It's important to pray. That's what the Lord did. He overcame by the spirit of the word Jesus.

Death therefore could destroy Satan's work. Let me give you a bunch of scriptures really good. John 12:31. Now the time of judgment of this world for the now the prince of this world will be driven out. John 16:11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned first John 3:8.

Read with me. He who sins is of the. I can't hear you. Ready, set, go. He who sins is of the devil.

For the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil. Why was Jesus manifested to destroy the works of the devil? The one who killed kills the one who steals, the one who destroys. He came to destroy his power.

He kept going to Hebrews. Go to Hebrews.

Hebrews 2, verse 14. Oh my gosh, I'm about to get excited. Hebrews 2:14. Since therefore this I think is amplified, amplified right here. Since therefore these his children share in flesh and blood in the physical nature of human beings.

He himself, in a similar manner talking of Jesus partook of the same nature that by going through death he might destroy. Come on. He might what?

Like lost my place. I'm so sorry. In a similar matter partook of the future. But that he might bring to naught and make no effect. He who had the power of death.

That is the devil. Verse 15 of Hebrews 2 and the Amplified. And also that he might deliver and completely set free. Completely set free. Completely, completely set.

He might completely set free all those who through haunting fear of death, were held in bondage throughout the whole course of their lives. Jesus defeated death. You have power to overcome your lust problem. You have power to overcome your greed. You have power to overcome your pride.

You have power to Overcome even death by the name and the authority of Jesus said. Do you have to get so excited about it? Yes. Helps you pay attention. And furthermore, I'm excited that I'm not going to be going to hell.

I'm excited that I don't have to yield to death. I'm excited that I can overcome. Overcome. I'm excited that the enemy has no hold on me. Does he have a hold on you?

You sure?

Because we're about to slide into the the spiritual mri. So brace yourself, dove. Does Satan have a hold? Does Satan have rights to you?

In Ezekiel chapter 20, I mentioned this. Ezekiel chapter 20 is this passage where it talks about Israel coming under the shepherd's rod. I want you to go there. Ezekiel 20, verse 37.

Because I said just recently that the nations are being. There's a. There's sheep nations and there's goat nations and it's up for grabs for the US of A. These midterm elections are crucial. Every election cycle is crucial.

I thank God that, that the woke broke. Insanity has been pushed out of the White House and pushed out of many places.

It's demonic. Changing someone's gender is. Is demonic. And it's. It's unnatural.

It's not right. You're not God. However you were born, that's what you are.

Ezekiel 20:37. I will make you pass under the rod new King James, and I will bring you into the bond of covenant. Now, picture of that, A picture of that is. Is a shepherd would have a rod and it would count. Would be used for counting.

It would be used for inspection. It would be used for separating sheep that needed extra care. So he would. It's the shepherd. He's the good shepherd.

Come on, somebody say he's a good shepherd. And so he's. He's looking at the nations. He wants to put the shepherd's rod over you. But you have a free will, so you can reject that or you can accept it.

I'm going to tell you I'm going to put myself under the shepherd's rod every time because I. I don't want to. I don't want to miss anything that he has. And I don't want the enemy to have a hold on me or. What I've seen this week is so profound. If you could peel back the veneer of this life that we're living, you would live very differently.

If you could peel back and see the demonic warfare and some of your attitudes and how that. That makes a hold some of your behaviors. Did you have to preach so hard. Yeah. Yeah, I do.

I'm preaching to myself and I'm preaching to you. You need to put yourself under the shepherd's rod. You need to allow him to look right up your nose, in your ears, check your heart. You need to look at the whole thing. Why do you want to finish?

You want to finish? You want to finish? I want to finish. Do you want to finish? You want to finish?

Pastor Kirsten? How about you, Dr. David? How about any. You want to finish? You really want to finish?

Because some people, I mean, the greatest. Listen to me. Listen. The greatest evangelists in the world, touching millions of people, had a little hook of lust and got taken out, no longer touching millions of people. Now, if the.

The greatest evangelist. I mean, I mean, really, I won't use names, but there's many. Raise your hand if you know those who've just totally blew it, destroyed their marriages, destroyed their church, destroyed their business. Destroy how many of you? It's only three people.

Okay. The thing about that is it's important to note. Why? Because you don't want to be a casualty. There are needless casualties of war.

And it happens when we don't allow this to go under the shepherd's rod. And I. But I think the thing that got me this week, and I'm certainly not going to give you details because it's just. It's not. It's not good.

It's not. Not a disqualifying thing. You know, the closer you get to God, you'll find that the littlest thing, that it's not really even. What's the big sort of. It's like, you know, what's the big deal?

Yeah, well, it's a big deal the closer you get to God, whatever that is. I don't have disqualification. Sin in my life. Think about fraud. Think about fraud.

Do you remember we had that fraud examiner years ago, come to our staff training, came to the staff training, talked to the. All of the leadership of Kings and talked about fraud. And we. Look, look, these videos and these cases. You know what's fascinating about people who commit fraud?

They. They all pretty much have the same story in that they needed a little bit of money and they didn't really want. This is a common fraud thing. This happens in businesses, happens in government, happens in daycares, in whatever that state is. It needs deliverance and.

And they need a spelling class.

They all say the same thing. Many of them say the same thing. I just. Bar. I just took it.

I was going to pay it back. I just borrowed it and I was going to pay it back, and they borrow it. Then they are, because of their inability to pay it back, they. They feel bad, but they're like, I didn't get caught, though. And actually, then they started working a scheme.

Like, I really, actually should be getting paid more. And they're like, you know something? I'm not going to take really all that much. But I took that little bit and that. Because I worked that.

And so they got away. They take again, and they take again. And then it starts this snowball effect where they begin to steal and they begin to take things. You're coming under the shepherd's rod. I'm asking you to look at your life tonight as I am looking at mine.

And I'm finding the thing that was tricky for me is one of the strengths I have. I have, I have many strengths. I have many weaknesses. I'm aware of them, and the Lord will help me be aware of what I need to be aware of. And I'm surrounding myself with people that are happy to correct me and rebuke me.

And I. And I. I want that. Amen. You should have people like that that are not afraid of hurting your feelings. You can tell I'm not afraid of hurting your feelings because I want you to walk in victory.

I want him to have no hold on you. I want you to overcome. I want you to be more than a conqueror. I want you to fulfill. Fulfill the plan of God.

I don't want you to be a casualty of war. I don't want that. I, I don't want that. Not on my watch. So I'm.

It's up to you. I'm giving it to you. Pass under the shepherd's rod. Examine yourself. Do you have anything that has made you a candidate?

And so for me, a strength I have is zeal. Really? Yeah, zeal. I have zeal. I have passion.

I, I, I'm driven. The problem that that can take. Problem with that can be if I just turn that thing loose, I can get ahead of God. And if you get ahead of God, you're in big trouble.

And I was warned in different things. And I was like, oh, Lord prayed through it. God's merciful and kind. I thought I learned that.

I hope I learned it now.

Have you yielded to temptation?

You're on the job.

Pretty secretary, handsome associate. I don't know.

You talk to him, and he's really interested in how you're feeling and what you're going through. And he listens to you, and he's so Kind helps. You even fix that mirror on your car. Your husband didn't fix it. You've been asking him to fix it for weeks.

But Sir Lancelot.

Sir Lancelot wants to just hear everything. Oh, he just wants to. Oh, tell me more of how you feel. I want to know. Oh, I can.

Like, he just can relate to me. You're being set up, sweetheart. Or that. That. That young pretty thing and the secretary, you walk in and she bats her massive eyelashes that move the air in the room and oh.

Oh, look like caterpillars. But you like it.

Go ahead. Get it out of your system. You like it. And she. She listen.

You walk in and she's like, oh, hi, it's nice to see you. Oh, I like your shirt. Gives you a whole bunch of. A bunch of pats on the back, and you just feel respected and honored. When you get home, you're treated like an old shoe.

And what's happening? You're being set up.

We should move on.

Have you. Have you given the devil a foothold? Go to Ephesians 4. I'm talking about. Because I'm like, he has a hold on me.

Really? You sure? Just double check. Come under the rod. Come under the rod of inspection.

Double check. Let's check, shall we? Temptation. Have you yielded to it? The devil's a bad devil.

He'll. He'll wave the carrot and. And you know, oh, gosh, this is good right here. He'll try to get you with a need, a perceived need. It's the same thing he did to Eve and Adam.

It's the same thing. He seduced him. He bamboozled them. He led them down the primrose path.

Oh, God knows that when you eat of it, you'll be like him. They. We there already were. They already were like him. He's.

She shouldn't have been. Don't talk to the devil. Come on. Somebody say, don't talk to the devil. It's the same thing.

So it's this need that you perceive that. That you have to have. And then he dangles the opportunity and nobody will know. And by the way, what you do in the dark is the level of maturity you have. It's a good tweet.

What you do in the dark is the level of Christianity. Maturity you have when you will never get caught. That's the level, by the way, God sees you and the devil sees also. And so he'll wave. The enemy will wave that carrot.

You'll be like, it's not that really a big deal.

And when you grab it, he's like, oh, you took it.

He's a bad devil. He set you up. Glad no phones were out when I did that.

Hopefully the camera wasn't working either. Ephesians 4, 25. Therefore, putting away lying. Put away what? Lying.

You know, exaggerating is lying.

Slight conviction right there for just a second. I'm getting over it.

I tell fish stories how I remember them, but sometimes my memory is not accurate. According to my wife was a 55 pound king. 20. She says, all right, all right, it was 40, it was 20. Looks like this, it was like this.

But you know women, they have depth perception problems.

Love you, babe. Come on, lift your hand to Jesus.

Oh, can I get a hallelujah in the house of God? You're passing under the rod. Take a good look at what's going on. Are you lying? Are you stealing?

I had somebody say, well, I'm not able to work for them. They're, they're letting me go. I said, why are they letting you go? And they said, because I witness all the time on the job. I said, but you're stealing.

You don't witness when you're working for somebody. Your witness is your work. You don't stop and talk to somebody about Jesus when you're on the clock. Not feeling the love over here. I'm going to get over here, see?

What do you mean you're there to do a job? You're there to do a job. You do the job. Onto the Lord now at the coffee break.

Turn loose on the coffee break.

Be the witness, work hard, be the hardest worker there. Don't be like, I've had people say, well, I'm witnessing and they don't even know. You're lazy and you're stopping production on the job in the name of the Lord. Like, that's not good. You treat your employer.

I'm not feeling the love. Come on, one more, more time. Somebody say amen. You treat your, your employer like he's the Lord. That's what Colossians talks about, as unto the Lord, okay, When you have a break, then you, you can share your faith.

Meanwhile, be the hardest working person out there. That produces more results than anyone else. Show up on time and you're early, early. 15 minutes early is on time. Go the distance like you own it.

You know, I was at Kihei in Hawaii, and we pull up to this cafe, it was early, and I see this guy setting up chairs, wiping tables, I mean, super detailed. And I watched it. Then he came back out, he moved some Things around. He was looking around. I got out.

I said, you're the owner, right? He said, yeah, well, how do you know that? I said, your attention to detail. Have ownership over everything you're doing, all right? And if you don't, you're going to give the devil a foothold.

This is Ephesians 4, verse 25. Be angry, but don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath and give place. Or topos is the Greek to the devil. It's a base camp.

If you want to give the devil a base camp of operation in your life, lie, sin, and then it'll have hold on. You exaggerate. I think exaggerating is lying. I don't do it on purpose.

I tell the truth. As far as I see it. Sometimes my memory is not accurate. Doesn't. I'm not purposely lying.

Like I said, depth perception is an issue. Are you deceived? Look at three. Are you deceived? James 1 and 22.

Turn there if you're able to. These are some of the things. As you pass onto the rod and you're looking at your life. Have you yielded temptation to temptation? Have you given the devil a foothold?

Because if you have, then the enemy, the father of lies, has a hold on you. Even though you're in the kingdom, he could have a hold on you.

Are you deceived? James 1 and 22. But be doers of the word and not hearers, only deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hero of the word and not a doer, he's like a man observing his natural faith in the face in the mirror. For he observes himself as he goes away, but immediately he forgets what kind of man he was.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and what? And continues in it and does what? And continues in it and is not forgetful here, but a doer of the work. This one will be blessed in all that he does. That's where that African could say that if you do the word, you're going to be the head and not the tail.

You're going to be the lender, not the borrower. Your marriage is going to be blessed, your kids are going to be blessed. And if it's not, not, then you should leave that church because something else is wrong. And defilement can come from the head.

Are you deceived? Are you? Are you deceived? Are you living some charade? Are you living a life where you're deceived?

Because if you Are. You know, the thing about deception again is you don't know you're. You don't know you're wrong. You don't know you're off. You don't know you're messed up.

That's why it's important to have people around you that are not afraid of hurting your family feelings and loving you. To telling the truth. I'm not talking about brother. Fourth part of the Trinity wants to tell you everything about what you should do. I don't.

I don't. I don't allow that in my life. You know, I don't do drama. I help a lot of people with drama. I have no drama on the inside of my family.

I don't have any. We don't have any. Big is. That's. Listen, that's a miracle.

Anybody else been from like some soap opera in your family? All of the honest people, you're like, man, it's like a roller coaster soap opera. There is spiritual warfare and you get off of the soap opera and start living this level, blessed life. And if you're deceived, it'll never happen. Go to 1st Corinthians 6.

Do you not know verse 9? Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards or slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. I love the next verse, but that's what some of you were. It's the next verse.

Oh, well, there it is. And such were some of you. I mean, he wipes out the whole church. He lists all these sins, Active homosexuality and passive homosexuality. Since both words are there, it's interesting.

And that's what some of you were. You were liars, you were broken, you were filled with lust, you were greedy. And that's what some of you were. But come on, read with me. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the spirit of God.

Come on, somebody say amen. You see, you're not the broken, twisted, deceived person anymore if you've been born again. But you can end up that way. Listen, if you're shacked up with your boyfriend or your girlfriend and you're. And you're.

You're. Is there kids here? Kids are on the other side. If you have small children. Hi.

So, amen.

If you're. I'm gonna almost Shoot high. Go right over your head. If you're shacked up with your. With.

With a sister or brother and you're acting like you're married and you're not, don't tell me you're born Esther. What are you talking about? I'm just reading the scripture. You say you're offending me. I hope to so that you would repent because the devil has.

I had people come to me and said, man, I just serving God, I give my life to the Lord and just nothing works out. It's just car accidents and difficulties. So I. I dig a little bit. Well, what's going on? Well, my boyfriend, I'm like, wait, wait, wait, wait.

What? Yeah, my boyfriend, we've been together for four years. We have like three kids. And, and it's just. I said, are you married?

No. I said, okay, you gotta rectify that. Are you tithing? What's. No.

What? Yeah, let's get you fully in. You have to submerse fully into the kingdom of God. It's not just something like you try on like a shoe, ladies. Oh, do you like that one?

I like. I don't know. You like the heel? I think it's a little bit big, but. No, it can work.

That's not the kingdom. The kingdom's full submersion, like everything you have, all of you. And if you live that way, that with one in, foot out, one foot in, and you think that you can have some mixed bag of how you're going to obey God, you're an idiot. Oh, the pastor, Karen would not like that. Let me, let me, let me reverse that.

If you think, you think you can live however you want, make up your own rules. Let me know how that works for you. And when you're ready to repent, really live for God, then you'll walk in the blessing of God. That's how it is. It's the blessing.

Listen, everything that you desire, God, God will give you. Don't try to grab it and be deceived and think it's going to be okay. He's not winking at your sin. Your anger problem matters. Your greed matters.

Your lust matters. He can have a hold on you. The enemy could.

The enemy can have a hold on you. All right. Has he attacked us emotionally? Oh, has he attacked us emotionally? Because there is emotional and physical attacks that come.

This woman of the daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound these 18 years.

Whom Satan has bound. There is physical demonic attacks, and you need to be aware of it. And you could be under that. What do you do? In that case, you repent for everything under the sun that you can imagine.

Then you get into a place where you get prayer and you learn to break that thing off of your life and live in the blessing of God. You answer altar calls, you get touched by God. You have people lay hands on you. You. You move into a place of authority and prayer, and you don't just tolerate what Jesus came to set you free from.

Let me say that again. When Jesus came to set you free from, don't tolerate that. Move into a place of victory. It's up to you. Well, how come the Lord didn't do it for me?

He did. He did do it for you. But you must take it. Come on, reach up and tell me, take it. You must take it.

You gotta make it yours. He did everything he was gonna do. Now you take the Word and you enforce it. Now you take. Am I yelling?

I'm kind of fired up tonight. You take the Word and you apply it. You take the Word and you enforce it and you obey it and you pray it, and you, and you, and you do the Word. Do the Word and you will get word results. It's one of the proofs that God's Word is God's word.

If you obey it, he does it.

But I've seen people attacked emotionally. I preached on Sunday night, and I don't think I treated a particular part of that message, which was powerful. David returns to Jerusalem and his leadership we looked at and how he's grieving, so, so grieving for Absalom who's dead.

And he's grieving because really, at the root of it, it's his fault. How is that? Because of his sin with Bathsheba. It triggered a whole series of events that he's living in. And, you know, I thought about Tamar.

Dr. David mentioned something about the baby dying, but I thought about that. I do think the Tamar thing is an issue because he didn't deal with his son who raped Tamar. Why guilty? Because he basically did the same thing. He was guilty.

You know, some of you have such guilt, such remorse, you can't enforce it on your own shoulder. You can't. You can't correct your own children because you're suffering with guilt. It's like, oh, I just wish I was. Oh, my goodness.

I was in Northern California, and I was leading this revival meeting in Grass Valley.

People came up, they were being healed. We had a line of people going across, And this stout man, clearly carrying authority. I mean, you could tell, like, he did something that carried authority. And his wife was looking really hurting. And then they had little children, and they said, can we talk to you right now?

I said, yeah, let me pray for you. What do you want Jesus to do? And she just looks at her husband. He's got his head down. He's got shame.

And she says, I'm being beaten. I looked at him like, dude, I'm gonna beat you. Anybody know what I'm talking about? I'm like, oh, you punk. And she goes, no, no, no, no.

It's by my son. My son is beating me. I said, what do you mean? She says, my son is back there. So I look beyond and I see this kid, he's like 16, 17, staring at them, staring me down, looking at.

Looking at me going back and forth, back and forth. And he walks past his mother as I'm talking to them. I said, sure, I'm gonna pray. Maybe we could talk after he walks past his mother and hits her. Well, I. I got a little hot.

And I grabbed him by his little Ralph Lauren jacket. I grabbed him by his cute little Ralph Lauren jacket, picked him up off his feet a little bit. I say, you do that again, I' ma hit you. Understand? And he peed himself.

So that's abuse. Sorry. I repented if it was too much. I did. I repented.

I said, lord, if I was a little bit over the top, because sometimes, like when I'm intense, I release 10%. I gave him a solid hundred.

Oh. Only thing was touch him is his toes, maybe. And I said, if you. I'm gonna hit you. What do you think of that?

Okay. I said, I'm gonna put you in your seat, and you're not gonna move here. Come back. Don't move. He sat there like an obedient blessing.

Amazing. The fear of the Lord getting to guilt, getting to this thing. Talking about how the enemy can attack you emotionally because you went through things when you were a child. You went through things with your mother, you went through things with your father. And it marked you and it scarred you.

And as a result, there's this hole, there's this broken place on the inside of you. And you. You can't quite move past that because of the shame or because of the guilt. And you might not even be aware of it. I've seen people live lives completely controlled by that, but that they're not even cognizant of the fact that they're under a bondage from the enemy because of a wound, because of something that happened.

You want to know the rest of that story. I went back, everybody was gone. I counseled with them, I sat down, I said, tell me what's happening. Said, well, our, our son. And there he was, just comes and if he doesn't want to do something, he, he fights me.

Then I try to make him and then he beats me. And I looked at the father, I said, where are you?

You know, in my house, my kids, which I won't tell you which one, Hannah. Anyway, you pray for leaders. He gives you strong willed kids. Saw some, some, some show, I don't know what it was. Lilo and St. And she tried to say to her mother, I hate you.

Let me tell you how many times that happened in my house. Why? Consequences. You don't let your kids hit you. You don't let you.

So I said, why? How are you letting that happen? He starts crying and he says this to me, he says, I am the chief of police and I'm gone a lot and I've given my whole life to my career and I just, I'm not home and I, and I'm not home and I just feel like I can't just enforce the rules when I come back. And so he's really running the house. I said, so you raised, you raised a little tyrant.

He's now 17, 16, 17 years old. I remember calling someone wiser and smarter than I told him the situation. And this very wise leader said that kid needs a two by four over his backside. Now listen, I'm not into abuse. I am into into training and consequences.

And if you just let your kids do whatever and there is abuse, I'm not talking about that. And that's wrong. Beating your children is wrong. Come on. Somebody say men.

Don't, don't, don't let this mean what I'm not saying, I'm not saying that. I'm just. And some of you have. And I won't ask you to raise your hand, you've suffered under abuse, it's wrong. But that put in you now a guilt.

And you're not willing to enforce the truth in your home and your family, with your children. And as a result you're creating a little, a little hellion, a little self will run riot child who will dominate your home. And when they get outside, they'll probably end up in jail. They'll probably end up in place. Don't do that.

Get healed of your guilt. Get healed of the things that happen to you. Tap that thing out, get some counseling, do whatever you got to do. Get healed so that you can apply. And.

And Tamar, the son, David's son, he didn't deal with it because he had killed. And it can. And it released more of a hold on him. Is anybody getting anything? We're under.

We're under God's discipline. That can be one of the things that's taking place. Hebrews 12 and 5. My son, don't despise the chasing in the Lord, nor be discouraged when you're rebuked by him. The Lord chase he whom the Lord loves, he chastens.

Lauren Cunningham said it this way. Those whom the Lord loves, he beats the hell out of. If you have any hell in you, it'd be good to get rid of it. Come on. Somebody say amen.

Are you guys okay? Why don't you bump your neighbor and say he's almost done? Just say he's almost. He's almost done.

You could be under God's discipline. God's chastening. Is the enemy got a hold of the church? Is he hindering the vision of the church? Is he hindering the vision of your business?

Listen, everybody on this platform that leads in worship, they're all tithers. Why is that? Because I'm not letting a curse come on the inside of my leadership team.

We believe in tithing. We believe in living the holy. You can't. You're not. You can't live a lifestyle.

It's contrary. One of the reasons the blessing of God is upon this house and for which we're so grateful. Come on, just thank him. It's his goodness. It's not any greatness of any one particular person.

It's the mercy of God. It's the kindness of God. But we also have a standard. There's standards. We don't allow strife.

If there's strife and backbiting and gossip, we deal with it. It usually doesn't get to me. It's usually dealt with by healthy leaders in the congregation. Before that, if there's weirdness here, it needs to be corrected. Come on.

Lift your hands to Jesus. He has no hold on me. He can hinder the vision of the church, as we just said. How? By getting involved at whatever level.

He can hinder your ministry. He can hinder your family. He can. He can. Does he have a hold on you?

Pass under the shepherd's rod tonight. Come under the shepherd's rod. Examine yourself. We should examine ourselves. I've been doing a bunch of that.

Because there's a war and he plays for keeps.

Yeah, I got a ticket the other day. It's the first ticket I've gotten in so long, I really thought, I've mastered the art of speeding in the pockets. Does anybody.

But in this case, I was observed. I think it's called a failure to stop at a stop sign. Kind of did California stop. Anybody know what that is?

So I got a ticket. I was observed by the police officer. It's interesting. While I was getting pulled over, I had people driving by and waving. It's fantastic.

Awesome.

Just being leading the way. Hallelujah.

And the guy's coming up and I'm like, please let me know. Please let me, Lord. Let me know him. Oh, God. Oh, God.

I know somebody's God gave mercy, Mercy, mercy, mercy, mercy. He's going to see me. He's also on the Passer of Kings. Lord, Lord, there he is. I don't know at all.

Squirming, trying to get out of it. That's the way it is. Does the enemy have. Have you failed to stop?

Does the enemy have a hold on you? Stand up on your feet all across this place. Well, I hope you were encouraged by God's word. Thank you again for listening to Kings Alaska podcast. God bless you.
