No Rest

Take your Bibles and turn with me to Psalm 132 will be our main text, but I want to just review a little bit.

Hold a place there at Psalm 132 and turn to Second Samuel, Chapter 6. Now, last we were together, I preached Sunday night and about the ark being brought back to Jerusalem. There's so much there, I just scraped the surface of it. David at this point has been made king over all the 12 tribes. He's been publicly anointed.

Now the second time there in Jerusalem, he was anointed over Judah, one twelfth of the prophetic promise that prophet Samuel gave him. He was anointed as a shepherd boy that then killed the giant and ran from pillar to post with thousands of men chasing him. He was years in the cave of Adullam. He did some wonderful things and drew close to God. He was the only one that was a man after God's own heart, which to me is amazing because he lied and he manipulated and he did all kinds of stuff that you did, maybe even today.

But the thing about David is always coming back to God. He's always repenting, always drawing back, always bringing the plumb line of his heart before the throne. And I believe that's why the Lord calls him in scripture the a man after God's own heart. He's also the only one that's called the sweet Psalmist of Israel. And so we've been tracking his life and it's been a wonderful journey.

I think we're like 19 or 20 messages in now, and probably seven left something like that.

He's made king over all of Judah, but not over the rest of the 11 tribes. And so he has to wait another seven years. There's civil war that takes place and eventually he is made king over all 12 tribes. Of fulfillment comes, as I said in previous messages, I'll say now the promise of God, the prophetic promise that God gives you and the timing of fulfillment are two separate things. Somebody said, do I have anything to do with that?

I would say, absolutely, yes, you do do. Because what wasn't Jesus time to make water into wine became his time when they waited on him. And we can certainly hasten or quicken his return. There's ways that we can live and hunger and yearn for God. And He.

He satisfies the hungry and the thirsty. He. He fills. Come on. He'll.

He'll fill you.

Excuse me. If you're hunger and thirst for righteousness, you shall be filled. So what does that mean? That means if you don't hunger and thirst for righteousness and you don't get filled like you would if you were hung thirsting. Yeah, well, what about when God just comes through?

Yes, he's sovereign. He's good. Come on. Somebody say God's good. God's good.

And so we see how David takes Jerusalem. I mean, the first thing he does when he's made king is go to. To Zion. And Zion and Jerusalem is. Is the same place.

And he goes and he finishes the job that Joshua did not complete. And it's. It's what theologians call the subjugation of the land they're given. The Promised land. God gives promises, but you need to dispossess those who are squatting on your promise.

That doesn't even sound good. Somebody say, evict the squatter.

And so they do that, but they don't. They don't. The most strategic place is right there. Jerusalem or Zion. It's the same.

It's confusing, but it's the same. Zion is. Jerusalem is the City of David. They're really. There's some separations there.

But when you read the City of David, you read Jerusalem, you read Zion. In the context of the time period where we're at, they're all the same. All right. The City of David is an 11 acre. They didn't use the term acreage, but we do.

It helps you understand a little bit. It's 11 acre piece of property. And. And so the first thing he does when he becomes king is he goes up and he attacks. He has a strategy, as a plan.

And Joab swims up, most likely Warren's water shaft. Some people say it was a septic pipe, but it doesn't really match except it sounds good for preachers. And, you know, you have to hold your breath and you got to go through a lot of stuff before you get to the right. I mean, it preaches good, but I. I don't. I.

That's not what I see. It's Warren's shaft was prior to what took place and with later kings in that city. So the Jebusites are there. They go and they. They have a battle.

There's two main battles, and they. And they win and they leave their idols there. So you can read this in Second Samuel five. And then second Samuel six. What's the next thing that he does?

The next thing that he does, excuse me, is he goes and he gets the ark. He goes and he gets the Ark of God. It's the visible manifestation of the dwelling place of God on the earth was between the cherubim, where what is what they call the Shekinah glory. He would be there. Well, where was the ark?

I know you would think it would be where, you know, the ark is appointed to rest with the high priests and all that, but it's not. It is 70 years outside of, of Israel. It's away from its rightful place for 70 years. Now it's 20 years. And Abitadab's house, and that's where we picked up last time I preached on Sunday night.

And they go and get, they go to get the cart and, and well meaning, they make a new cart for the cart. Except they didn't do their homework. They didn't graduate from KSM Pastor Kirsten. They didn't know that the ark is supposed to be carried on the shoulders of men. And so the two sons of Abinadab, Ohio, Ohio or Ohio, and, and Uza, they are ones in the front, ones in the back.

And Uza, well meaning, reaches out to steady the ark because it's going to fall off the cart and he's struck by the Lord and he's killed on the spot. And it says that David, David was angry. Some scholars say that David was angry at the Lord, but that doesn't even make sense based upon how you view the heart of David in the Psalms and all the other. She's not angry. You get angry at God.

You are. Your theology is just really messed up. If you're angry at God, and let me tell you, if you allow yourself to get angry at God and stay in that place, then you're going to destroy yourself. And so I don't think that David was angry at God. I think he was angry because he didn't do his homework and he didn't understand actually what's.

What he needed to do. He didn't understand. He should have known from the book of Numbers, should have known from different places. The ark is carried on the shoulders of men. So what happens?

He goes and puts it in the house of Obed Edom and Obed Edom. Can you imagine after, you know, your, your, your long, your, your, your distant cousin or whatever, you're the guy down the road from, from Abinadab's house. His entrails are smoking and the king says Obed, come here. You're going to take the box home. What?

Yeah. You're. You're taking the ark back to your house. I mean, now, if you look at the history. I mean, the ark had destroyed Dagon, the false half man, half fish.

God fell over, lost his head, lost his hands. I'm quickly telling it. There's certain men that looked in it Kariath somewhere. I forget. At another.

At another place. It gave hemorrhoids to all of the Philistines, right? They viewed the ark really like a. Like a talisman, like a lucky charm. That's why they lost it.

It was like a rabbit foot. I talked about that on Sunday. So The Ark is 70 years away. They don't even know what to do with it. But.

But Saul doesn't do anything. It really is a picture of leadership that doesn't really care about God's power, God's presence. And that's not who we are here. We love God's power, God's presence. But, you know, the means don't justify the means don't justify the ends.

You can't just expect God's power to show up. There is Ananias and Sapphira experiences in the world, and may we never have those. How many of you know? Raise your hand if you know who Ananias and Sapphira are. Okay, that's in the New Testament.

Because I've had people say, well, God doesn't do that anymore. I've seen people. I've seen people die, and it was early. Now, I'm not saying everything is a judgment of God, but certainly there is a judgment of God, and. And God does deal with people.

How many of you ever been dealt with?

He's dealing with me every day. Is he dealing with you every day? Good. It's a sign of God's great love for you to change. Loves you so much.

Receives you just the way you are now. We just give yourself a hug. Oh, isn't that fantastic? Yes. Receives you just as you are and loves you so much.

Refuses to leave you that way.

So the ark is brought back, and it's in the process of being brought back. And David gets angry. But they. They put it at Obed Edom's house. And you can go and do a word.

Go study the life of a bed. Edom. I didn't preach it on Sunday, but I'll tell you that Obed Edom never leaves the ark again. He leave like when they come to get. His house is blessed for 90 days, three months.

David's like I knew it. I want. I want the whole. I want the Ark to come and bless Jerusalem that way. I want the blessing of God to be on the nation.

So they go and they get it and they have this river of blood. As I preached on Sunday, every six steps, which is a picture of man. Six is the number of man they sacrifice. And it's a river of blood that goes 10 miles all the way to Jerusalem. So as he's coming in, he's worshiping and he's accused by his wife of taking off his robe.

Some people preach that he was naked. Can I just tell you? David was not naked. Say it. David was not naked.

He divested himself of his kingly robe and became like one of the commoners. Because in God's presence, everybody's common. Come on. Somebody say Ben. But this Obed Edom character leaves.

He goes with the. I mean it's thousands of people. It's 30,000 people went to go get the Ark. 30,000 people want to. It is a national moment.

And Obed Edom is seen over and over and over. All you read his name throughout all of the scripture that's to follow. He becomes. He just leaves home and he's just can't be away from the ark. Why is that?

It was in his living room. And he's like, I can't be outside of God's. I just want to be around it. I just want to be a doorkeeper. I just.

The power of God will do something to you.

Stand up on your feet. Take your Bibles with me. A song of ascent. They many believe it's written by David. They're not sure.

It is an anonymous psalm. But oh, it's so powerful because it ties in to this section right here in the life of David. Psalm 132 New King James, verses 1 through 8. Let's read the word of the Lord. Lord, remember David and all his afflictions.

Verse 2. How he swore to the Lord and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob. Verse 3. Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house or go up to the comfort of my bed. I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.

Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah, which is Bethlehem. We've found it in the fields of the woods. Let us go. Let us go into his tabernacle. Let us worship at his footstool.

Arise, O Lord, to your resting place. You and the Ark of your strength. Father, I thank you for your word. Lamp into a feet light upon our path. Move in great power.

God tonight may we forever be changed. In Jesus name, amen. You may be seated. Something's very fascinating about David that I discovered and I want you to look with me at first Samuel 17. If you're a note taker, write that down.

I believe it's verse 54. I'll read it in a moment. Think about David. And he. He had knowledge, I believe, divine knowledge about the city of David, of course, but the city of David, let's call it Jerusalem, about Zion.

And you'll see something significant when he. When he kills Goliath, what does he do? And in 1st Samuel 17, verse 54, it says what. What David did. And David took the head, the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem.

But he put his armor in his tent. That is a phenomenal verse of scripture. He said, what's so phenomenal about that? So he brought the head to Jerusalem. Yeah.

Jerusalem was not in control of Israel at the time of the death of Goliath. He takes the head. Now this is a big head. Some of you have a big head. Raise your hand if you have a big.

It's way bigger than your head. How many of you? Double xl. All right, very good. Lots of brains.

He takes his head and he hikes. You know, it kind of depends on how you measure it. But 10 miles from the valley of Ella, 10 miles with a. With a head. And it's heavy.

There's sculptures and artwork about it. Why would he do that? Why would he bring it to Jerusalem? It's a phenomenal verse of scripture because to me, first of all, it's interesting that Golgotha is a place where Jesus was crucified, which is called the place of the skull. I do believe it is a prophetic type and shadow of how David is a type of Christ and how he comes and he's going to crush the head of.

Of the serpent. He. He brings the head of the uncircumcised Philistine to the very city that Jesus would then call later. The city of the King. Jerusalem.

The city of Zion. The city of David. Jerusalem, the city, the king. It's talked about the book of Revelation. This is the spot that he brings it to.

It is profound and I think it's a prophetic act where he says to really before all the. All the Jebusites there. He puts ahead. Puts the head down. I mean, I don't know, it's on a hill I don't know how he did it, but I think he was just kind of like, bam, coming for you later.

It's this prophetic picture, like the enemies of God are going down. Just a cocky 17 year old, but I think he knew something about God. And you can read the Psalms and you see how he's talking about the Messiah and how things just tie in. David is a very special, special cat.

In Psalm 132 I've entitled this message. No rest until. No rest until.

No rest until. Until. Until I find a place. Verse 5 for the Lord. A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.

Verse 8. Look at verse 8. Arise Lord, to your resting place. The ark of your strength. Strength, dwelling place, resting place.

There's something in the heart of David that he's filled with zeal, that he wants to do something for God that most people don't even see. And I want to make the application that there's a generation rising in the earth that wants to see God's power manifested in every part in every corner of their life. And not just in their life, in every part in every corner of the world. These are the greatest times to be alive right now. And I believe that God is raising up Davids.

I believe that God is raising up Divinas. I believe. I believe that God is raising up people that are hungry and thirsty and will not rest till he manifests his power in their own life. They will not rest until he manifests his power in their family. Will not rest to your broken crack smoking uncle gets saved.

Will not rest until there's a great outpouring and a revival. Will not rest until people are saved, healed, delivered. Will not rest until he splits the eastern sky. God is putting something on his church in this hour. That's not like Saul.

It's not, it's not a performance word about your position in politics. It's not about that. It's really about him. And that's the big difference between David and Saul. Saul was all worried, all worried.

He didn't care about the ark, didn't care about the power of God, didn't care about the presence of God. That's why the ark is left in these places for 70 years. And David, David brings the ark back a resting place in Exodus 25. See, here's the thing that you must understand. God has always, everybody say always, always wanted to dwell among men.

He wants to dwell among us. And so let me give you some scripture, Exodus 25 and verse 8. Let them make me a sanctuary that I may Dwell among them that he may. What? Dwell among them.

But how does a holy, righteous God who cannot partner with sin dwell among anybody? Well, he made the sacrificial system, but it was a type and shadow that would be fulfilled in Christ, the Lamb of God that was slain before the beginnings of the foundations of the earth. But he wants to dwell among us. John 1 and 14. The word became flesh and dwelt among us.

That Greek word dwell is tabernacle. It's a word for tabernacle. He tabernacled among us. He dwelt among us. The tabernacle in the wilderness is literally about God dwelling among his people in a very prescribed way.

Ephesians 2 and verse 22, being built together. Talking about the church for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. Revelation 21, verse 3. Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men. The writer of the Book of Hebrews.

And we say writer of the Book of Hebrews because we don't know who wrote it. Some people say Paul wrote it. Someday Apollos wrote it. I don't know, but it fits within the canon of Scripture. It is a bit of a mystery.

It is a powerful book. And the writer of the Book of Hebrews says that we are his house. We are his house. He lives literally on the inside of us. Come on.

Jesus lives. Come on. If he lives on the inside of you, raise a hand to heaven. He lives on the inside of us. Let me ask you this question.

In the temple or in the tabernacle, did the Lord dwell between the cherubim? Did he? Did he. Did he dwell among them in that way? And the answer is yes.

Now, he doesn't dwell in temples made by human hands. He doesn't dwell on top of a box that has the Ark. The Ark. The Ark of the Covenant. He doesn't dwell on top of that that has the rod of Aaron that budded and the Ten Commandments and all of that.

He doesn't dwell in a box like that. He comes to live inside of your heart. He comes to live inside of my heart. That's why we can say, greater is he that's in me than he that's in the world. You can make it because he's in you.

Can you say Amen? That's why when the enemy comes against you, you have to rise up in your God given blood, bought, purchased, understanding, to say, I'm a new creation in Christ. The old is gone, the new has come. Greater is he in Jesus name. Take a walk off a short plank, devil.

Leave now, in Jesus name name, you have no right. You know, sometimes people don't walk in a level of authority because they just don't understand who they are.

They don't understand who they are. You know, I'm. I'm walking my property line and checking out my property line, and I've. It's been surveyed, you know, a while ago. I've tried to maintain the survey tape.

Anybody know what I'm talking about? So I was standing there on my property line and I'm looking at it now. On this side, there's an easement that's not mine, but on this side, that's mine. That's mine. It's my property and I have rights to do with it within code what I want to do.

You must understand who you are. You must understand your. Your property line. Come on, raise your hands to heaven all across this place, pray. Pastor Karen.

Something. Authority. Awesome. Lord, I thank you for the authority that you have given us. Because what you did on the cross and because of your very same spirit that dwells within us that raised Jesus from the dead.

We thank you for it. In Jesus name, amen. Amen. That's what you do when you have to tie your shoe. You hand the mic to your anointed wife who can preach better than you can, and you just move forward.

Back to Psalm 31, 32.

Swore an oath to the Lord.

Lord, remember David and all his afflictions, how he swore to the Lord and vowed to the mighty one of Jacob. And here's the oath. Surely I will not go to the chamber of my house. He's making this pledge. He's making a decree.

Until I will no slumber to my eyelids. Verse 5. Until I find a place of the Lord, a dwelling. Listen, you know when real peace comes, when you understand he lives on the inside of you and he's forgiven you by his blood and you can have peace with God and he can dwell among you. So many argue that.

No, wait, because you know, that's not really what that means. No, that is what that means. All of this is a type and shadow. Verse 6. Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah.

Ephrathah and Bethlehem are the same. The same place. So understand Bethlehem. Ruth, chapter one and verse two, Bruce, four and 11, first Samuel, 17, Micah 5:2 talks about Bethlehem. I've been there.

It's a very short distance to Jerusalem. David grew up there. So it says. We heard of it. We heard of his fame.

We heard of it. We heard of the miracles. We heard of the ark of your power. When I was a little boy in Bethlehem, it's a picture of hearing about the stories. Oh, and when the Philistines have it, they all got emrons, tumors, says one version, but just to put it plain, hemorrhoids.

That's what they got. They got, man, how many of you know, the Lord knows how to stop somebody crazy?

He heard about how the. I think it's 50,000 people got killed.

He heard about how men looked into the box and did different things. They heard. He heard about it. So his whole life, how many of you grew up and there's like a haunted house or something nearby? You'd be like, oh, don't go there, don't go there.

I mean, there was so much fear and different things when I was growing up. I mean, just be like, terrified. You go, walk past that. It's a boogeyman and whatever. Like, not talking about that.

I'm talking about revival stories of a God. There's this God has got this ark to sing, that Moses had it made, and it was just a few miles from where David grew up. And he heard about it. It's. It's.

It's what God has done in previous generations. And can you imagine him growing up and thinking, oh, my, wouldn't that be awesome to see that? Don't touch it, though.

Found in the fields. That's the very word for where it was, literally mean fields and forests. It's about 10 miles from Bethlehem.

And this declaration, he said, we found it in the fields. It's basically the Ark of the Covenant is in the woods. That's where the ark was for, for all those years, resting in the woods 10 miles from David's house. He. He heard about it.

He. I think he just longed. How many of you long to see God's power manifested? How many of you long to see miracles, signs and wonders? Now, don't make that an idol.

Make him your God and you serve him. You love him. You'll see manifested power. Don't run after signs, wonders and miracles. I remember a number of years ago, this evangelist who.

He was in his height. I mean, there was all kinds of stories. Angels were visiting them and giving them messages. And when you would hear him preach, I mean, it sounded like an angel gave him the message. I mean, like revelation, just peeling the paint off the proverbial walls of churches and power and the dead being raised in miracles and signs and wonders.

And we went to that revival. You remember that? Where was that? Lake Lakeland, Florida. We went there.

Some of you been there? Not raise your hand if you've been to Lakeland, Florida. All right. We went there, and it was astounding the amount of people that were there. They flooded from all over, mostly from the nations, not mostly from America.

And it was a confusing time for me and Pastor Tim because we saw all kinds of miracles. But I also felt this defiled, twisted thing. And I'm like, man, this is confusing to me. How is it there's so many miracles, signs and wonders, and then what is that, right? I remember weeping, saying, oh, I want to see your power.

And at the same time, in a still, small voice in both of our hearts was careful. Well, that. That evangelist backslid to hell, blew his whole life up, supposedly restored. I don't know. I hope so.

For the grace of God go. I say that. For the grace of God go. I. David longed for God's power, that he heard about it. He didn't want anybody killed, but he understood that there's a right way to walk in God's power.

And it longed for it, found it in the fields. Verse 6. He longed for God, the God of Jacob. Jacob experienced an open heaven in Genesis 28. What are you saying?

I'm saying that God is putting upon us a no rest until. Until what? Until the fullness of his kingdom is released. You say, when would that be? When the fullness of his kingdom is released.

We only have partial fulfillment now. When the fullness of his kingdom comes, we will all know it. There's. There's no rest until. It's this picture of intercessory prayer.

It's this picture of persistence. It's this picture of like. I'm not stopping. I'm not quitting. I'm not going to let up until all my family's saved.

Until the promises of God are manifested. I'm not going to stop. I'm not going to rest until you've. Until you find your resting place, until you see the fulfillment of everything you said could come to pass. May it happen.

I'm not going to rest until. It's his posture. It's a posture of power, a posture of just. Of hunger and thirst. Are you hungry and thirsty for God?

If you're not hungry and thirsty for God, don't expect him just to come. I'm in a position right now, today. I'm hungry, I'm thirsty. I'm looking for God to speak. And he's speaking and I'm answering, and I'm drawing near.

And there's times where he's. I mean, I was up couple hours in the night last night just seeking him. Things playing in my spirit, seeing things longing. Why? Because this is the greatest hour.

Am I yelling because I'm trying to get through to you? This is the greatest hour to be alive. Put in your heart a posture like David. It's a, it's a, it's a vow. That's what scholars call it.

They call it a vow.

It's similar to turn to Isaiah, chapter 62, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Isaiah.

Isaiah's in the Old Testament. I'm just being humorous. Isaiah 62.

It's good to have the hearts back in the house. We love you so much. If you haven't met Jim and Susan Hart right here, there's some of the finest people on the planet and we're so black glad. There's some of our great, great leaders. They've been in the lower 48 suffering for Christ.

We're glad to have you back. Psalm 62. Isaiah 62. Pardon me. Go to verse six.

I believe it is.

I've set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem. Listen now. And they shall never hold their peace, day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent and give no rest till. Till or until he establishes.

Until he makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth.

You know, you've got to get that straight as a believer. I, I was some. I was talking to one of her, one of our great leaders today. They said something very quick but poo powerful. You gotta take care of orphans, you gotta take care of widows, and you gotta stand with Israel.

He just said it very quickly. I'm. You got that right. Those are, those are non negotiables as a believer. And if you don't believe that, well, you just gotta study a little bit more and, and figure it out.

I've pinned to the very top of our YouTube page why, why stand with Israel? And you can go and listen to that whole thing and it'll just help you. There's a lot of. The enemy works very hard to destroy Israel. You know why?

You want to know why? Because if he can destroy Israel, then he proves that God doesn't exist. He will never be able to destroy Israel. There's no holocaust that'll wipe out Israel. Oh, come on.

Somebody say Ben. I'm not saying Israel's perfect. Don't, don't hear me incorrectly. I'm not saying that there are a godly nation. I'm saying that they have a relationship with God.

They're God's chosen people. But we're grafted in as gentiles. Unless you're a Jew and then you're a completed Jew and they're going to be held to a standard. There's not two covenants. There's one with.

And there's no replacement. The church did not replace Israel. Okay, can I get an amen? All right, go study that. You got to watch out.

You go online, you listen to a bunch of idiots. Be careful. Don't listen to an idiot. Everybody say that. Okay, there's, there's, there's a lot of confusion.

And I've said it in my heart. I've, I've, I've determined it theologically. I'm settled it. I'm going to stand with Israel. It doesn't mean everything they do is righteous.

That's not what that means. All right, go listen to that message. Isaiah 62 oh, verse 7. Give him no rest until he establishes. Until he makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth.

We're commanded to pray for Jerusalem. This whole thing, I mean, all of eschatology in the end, surrounds Jerusalem. It's all around Israel. It's the center of the earth, what they say.

And so David, I think he had some revelation about that. Don't keep silent. It's a picture of intercessors. It's a picture of the body of Christ, a picture of us in the hour which this tension between the Jesus first advent and his second Advent is soon return. We're in the tension between the two.

And we should purpose in our heart to not stop but to stir up holy passion for God until he see. Till we see his kingdom even established. We stand between the prophetic word and fulfillment. So I love this text. It's just powerful.

God's habitation place, resting place.

I think one of the keys. And could I have keys, please? I think one of the keys in this hour of history is to find out what God is doing in this generation and get involved, get a part of it, be a part of it. You said what? I don't know what he's doing this generation.

Well, I'll tell you, more people are coming to Christ than ever before. There are. They're coming by the millions and they're. They're flooding churches and they're hungry and they want God. Kids are being visited by the Lord.

There's a whole movement of redefining education, not just here with the King's Christian School, Alaska, but all over the place. God's touching, touching students. You know, you might not know this Headmaster Susie, but in 1995. When the power of God came. Pastor Dwayne and all of you beautiful blood washed people.

The power of God came on our church in 1995. There was no guest. You know what happened? God showed up in the classroom of our school, the K Monohou Christian School. God started breathing on the classes.

The kids were weeping and crying and laughing in their. In their classrooms. And the teachers were too. And they couldn't do anything about it. And for hours in one particular class they got.

They were just all over the floor. And Dave Morocco, who's now gone to heaven, who is the principal, came to show up. And he knew from his parents and being in Calcutta, India, that this was an outpouring. And he saw and said it's an outpouring.

And soon it wasn't just one classroom, it was two classrooms. And soon it wasn't two. They had a chapel and the chapel never ended and went for hours. Hours. They got on the phone and started calling people, get here.

Get here. Something's happening. I remember different times of seeing those students. They were undone. You know, a lot of those students went into full time ministry.

Not after that. We had Rodney Howard Brown, but this is before Rodney when I'd never been to our church. It happened in the school. And I'm telling you God is doing something in this generation. He's doing something.

I'm gonna send you back to that university with a greater fire than you've ever known before. That fire will be cultivated in your time with me this whole summer. Push yourself away from some of the fun things to go after the primary thing that's in your heart. You have revival in your heart. So he made you to be.

You're the best of both your father and your mother. And I see God visiting you and I see God bringing you back there like a reformer. I see God bringing you back with fire and power. You'll be known your whole life as a reformer. You're a Nehemiah.

Pay the. Pay the price of intimacy and passion. Prayer.

Lord, thank you for this. Young man.

You'll flow with great accuracy in the gift of prophecy.

You will preach under an unction. Becoming like another man. You will become like another man. The word of God being sowed into your heart through your time with him and through your studies is going to be like a fire. Shut up in your bones now.

I'm going to direct your feet. I'm going to give you the desires of your heart. Push yourself away from the things of time and tradition. Revivalists don't really fit In David didn't fit in. You're a David.

You're a David. Sometimes it's lonely.

Sometimes it's lonely in leadership.

Go to Psalm 69.

Psalm69.

Listen to this. This is for you. It's for me too. It's for all of us.

Those who hate me without cause. This is a psalm of David. Are more than the hairs of my head. Verse 7.

You know, I need to pause and just say this before I get to the meat of Psalm 69 will be the last thing we do tonight.

Had had some people lighting us up on Facebook. You know what that means?

Saying all kinds of lies, tagging us really. They're, they're, they're demonized and they need help. And then that's all. I had somebody say, pastor, did you read that? You need to read that.

I said, no, no, I, I, I don't need to read that. Why is that? Because I don't need to read it as Let, let the Lord just take care of it. I, I've, I'm beginning to discover that I have a limited bandwidth. God can expand my bandwidth, but I don't.

When I'm not going to put any emotional charge. I don't do drama. If you want to have a life of drama, let me know how that's working for you. I hate it. I do not like it.

I'm allergic to it. I used to be the source of all drama, but I've gotten delivered. Come on. Some of you know someone that needs to be delivered, they just, oh, oh.

And then it's exhausting. So my bandwidth, I'm going to use my bandwidth. I'm going to see how big a heart I can get for God. I don't give a flip if people don't like me. I mean, I'm going to be as I'm going to repent and live kind and gracious.

I want to become like Jesus. Absolutely. They crucified him. So if you don't have people that like you, who gives a flip? It does not really matter as long as your ways please.

The Lord will make even the enemies to be at peace with you. It does not matter what all the likers say. It doesn't matter who's in whose opinion. Opinions are like everybody's got one. I'm just telling.

Might have been a little bit of the old life there squeezing out. But anyway, control of the tongue is in control of his dire being.

Lift your hands to Jesus. What are we? Psalm 69. Who cares if people don't like you?

The Lord Loves me. That's number one. She likes me. We can charge hell with a water pistol if we're good. And I'm good with the Lord.

It's good.

It's. It's a. It's a great freedom to be free from the opinions of people. It doesn't. Don't be a jerk about it, though.

Look at verse seven.

Because for your sake I've borne reproach. This is David. Shame has covered my face. Verse 8. I become a stranger to my brothers.

What is this talking about? I mean, think about this. This is written by David. He's so on fire, so in love with God. I'm not gonna rest until you find a dwelling place like, can you relax just a little bit?

You know, you're just a chill. You're just a little bit too on fire. Why don't you just settle down a little bit? You know, when you're really on fire, it makes backslidden people feel very uncomfortable. When you're very on fire and you love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, you're not gonna get entangled in civilian affairs because you realize you're a soldier in the army of.

Of God. You're not going to look to the right or the left. You're going to hear a voice says, this is the way he walk in it. There's a place in God where people will not like you because you're so on fire. I'm.

I want to get there. Oh, I want to get there. May people hate me because I love God. I don't care. Do I want to pray that I'm not going to let the opinions of people control me.

Don't do it. Please, God. Please, God, love God. Get more on fire. I don't want people to hate me.

That's no fun. But I mean, it happens. Reproach happens.

We first got here, we had an outreach. We reached hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people. Hundreds, hundreds of people heard the gospel. We had a pastor come through.

I remember I met him at the door. I can tell he was a pastor, the way he combed his hair and the whole thing, all the clothes he was wearing. Everything was like, oh, pastor.

He comes, he walks through the whole thing, writes an article, puts it in the the Frontiersman about how King's Chapel, Wasilla is hurting the community. Because we had an outreach that exposed abortion, exposed drug addiction, suicide, drunk driving. We had this outreach that was intense.

And then during the article, which I. I read, they said, these are the Brackenites.

That's Why? I said, people don't shave your head, for God's sake. One shaved head's enough. They called us to Brackenites and then we got a name change to the crazy church. Crazy church of the crazy pastor.

I mean they said worse about Jesus. They called him a drunkard, a wine bibber. Consider it not strange, my beloved, when you face all kinds of fiery trials. So people don't like you. People, people look at you with reproach because you pray in tongues, because you're, because you're on fire, because you witness, because you worship, because you lift your hands.

That's what they did to David. Now don't go out and be weird for the sake of being weird. Try to get people's attention. You also need healing.

I was in a, I don't know what it was Cracker Barrel before the screwed it up and then correct it saying, but it breaks your end being a Cracker Barrel. It's in a Cracker Barrel. I don't know. With lunch with Pastor Aaron Anderson, he was going to be moving on. I, I knew him from another church in the middle of the country.

And we're sitting there and we're talking and he said, you know, I think we're going to go to California. Well, when he said California, the power of God hit me in Cracker Barrel. I'm talking, it was early in the morning. It's mostly 60 and 70 year olds at Cracker Barrel at that time. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

The power of God hit me and I, I, I look like one of those like spirit filled loons. Oh, I made some noise. He said I fell on the ground, but I didn't fall. I don't care what he says. He'll stand before the Lord for that.

I stayed in my seat. But it did look like, I mean I made some noise and it was embarrassing. You know, somebody said the, the Holy Spirit's a gentleman. Yeah. And unless at times he isn't.

He wanted to make sure I understood. Was a very, it wasn't like, oh, I think the Lord's speaking to me. It was like power hit me in my inner being. California. I was just like, oh, I kind of like, let me up.

And I'm like, what Lord? What? Okay, California. Do you know that that directed us then to establish him as the next pastor in California. That place is in an outpouring of revival when before it there was very, very few people.

And the church is in the wrong, the wrong neighborhood. It's the wrong design. It was the wrong color. It was like blue from Mexico, which is great if you're in Mexico, but in Northern California, Mexico, blue doesn't go so well. It was unusual.

And it was only half painted, so it was like half white and half blue. And it had a lot of issues. All kinds of issues. He went there, him and his family, with a word from the Lord and carved it out. You were there.

That place is. That place is difficult. Difficult. You went before that, am I right? Didn't you almost get shanked in some?

Didn't something happen?

He was parked, you know, waiting for the pastor or whatever, and he almost got carjacked. I mean, it's a very violent place. And yet, because of the word of the Lord, saw great outpouring. And yet the church next to him is angry. Angry.

Called the police on him. Don't come on our property. Don't park your church, your cars over here. No, there's three people in this other church.

No, like three. I'm not even kidding. So what they did was they couldn't make the rent payment on the church. So they begin. You got to be careful when you're talking about the body of Christ.

But there was some problems here. And they had. They had these. I don't know, some specially ordained Israelite group.

And when one of my friends was preaching there, that Israelite group in the church killed a goat. They sacrificed a goat. Yeah, they did a sacrifice of a goat. And you can hear the. Through the whole neighborhood.

I went. I went there. I went there. I just said, I gotta go. I gotta.

I'm gonna. I'm gonna walk in. I'm go. I said to Pastor Aaron, I said, I. These guys just hate us, hate our church.

They're just out to cause problems. I said, they don't know who I am. I'm visiting, you know, I'm gonna walk in there. So I walked in. As soon as I walked in the back of the sanctuary, the preacher stopped, stared at me.

The other 15 people turned around and stared at me. And I, you know, I'm in church. I mean, what are you gonna. I'd have rather been terrified. I was like, I don't know if I wasn't who I was.

And I was like, piece. They didn't smile, they didn't laugh. He said, what do you want? I said, are you having church? He said, yes.

I said, is it okay if I partake? Can I sit? Okay. I said, okay, thanks. Can you imagine?

Just felt that brotherly love. There is a reproach when you get on Fire. You'll have religious people that hate you. You'll have. You'll have people that think you're over the top.

I'm long over the top, and I'm never looking back. No rest until he brings it. I'm not gonna stop, not gonna quit, not gonna let up. Go preach, pray, prophesy, lay hands on the sick and see them recover. And I'll.

You know, I'll be as normal and natural as I am. But, I mean, I'm intense, unapologetically. And they make fun of David. They persecuted him. Psalm 69.

Y' all there? I'm wrapping up. This is me wrapping. The wheels are down. We're on approach.

We're coming in. Coming in hot.

Because for your sake, have you ever felt that? Let me just say this. If you've never felt that, it might be that your fire is a little low.

I become a stranger to my brothers. That means his family's not down with how on fire he is. The zeal of the house of the Lord has consumed me. His brothers aren't so excited about that. His family's not so excited about that.

Because your zeal. Verse 9. Because zeal. Because passion for your house has eaten me up. That is a quote that Jesus used.

How is your zeal? And how is your passion? How is your fire? How is it? We need to cultivate that?

No rest until. No rest until. That's what David said in Psalm 132. No rest until he was committed to see the Ark come back to Jerusalem. Oh, and then look what he does.

Give some greater details. And look what David does. He sets up what's called the Tabernacle of David. I'm gonna preach on his most likely next message. And it is amazing.

It's a tabernacle of people worshiping day and night, night and day, by families around the Ark. Totally unprescribed way of worship. You're not allowed to worship God that way. Unless, of course, you're like David and have a passion. And the Lord's just like, all right, go for it.

You let him go for it. It's the tension. I'm gonna close with this. It's the tension of the two tabernacles at Shiloh, you had the priest who doing all the priestly stuff. No power.

And then you had David with the. With the God box, with the Ark of the Covenant power. Don't touch it. Definitely don't open it. Don't even look at it.

And he set up a whole worship. There's 237 people, 24 hours a day, round the clock, worshiping him in Jerusalem. The Tabernacle of David. Two different places. One dead.

Dead religion with no power, doing all the prescribed way according to the law. And this new way of worship, God dwelling among us. Lift your hands to Jesus. Powerful. Oh, God, set our hearts on fire.

Come on. I dare you. I double dog quote Pastor Karen. Double dog. Darius, ask God to set your heart on fire.

Oh, Lord, we need you. We long for you like a dry and a weary land where there is no water. Lord, thank you for the grace that you placed upon us. And sometimes a boldness can be misunderstood for arrogance. And at times we've.

Maybe we've been arrogant, Lord, forgive us, but we want to see a resting place. As I said back in Lucille so many years ago. Well, where will my resting place be? And we said, lord, you'd find a place to rest here. We'll let your glory come on in.

We won't stop you. We won't hinder you. Come and have your way, Lord. Have your way. Let.

Let this church be a church that. That allows you to have your way, Lord. Not afraid of the naysayers. Not afraid of those who'd want to say things on Facebook. You just deal with all that.

Deal with all of that. The reproach that comes by being on fire. On fire. The crazy church and the crazy pastor. Yeah.

I've lost my mind. Thank God. I've got the mind of Christ. Come on, somebody say amen. We need a new mind.

You need a new heart. You need a new desire. You need a new passion. Need a new fire. Need a new zeal.

No rest until I see your plan come about. No rest until. Stay in Jerusalem until you're endued with power. Until Daniel prayed, until the angel came and broke through. Until.

Don't rest until. Until he brings it to pass. So many people refuse to shut the door to the. To the world, to the flesh, to the things of their life that would bring a distraction. You gotta shut the door and get in a place and put a demand on God.

Not that you demand anything of him, but put yourself in a position to say, I'm so hungry that if you don't come, I don't know what I'm gonna do. Lord, come and I don't mean a five minute. I mean as long as it takes till fire falls. And I will tell you that every great revivalist, every great outpouring starts like that. Everyone.

I'm getting hungrier and hungrier and hungrier. We need God. I'm desperate for you. She can call us whatever you want. Just don't call us late for dinner.

Lift your hands to Jesus.
