Introduction

  1. The disciples did not look to the one who was in control.
  2. They focused on the storm, not the one who could control it.
  3. In our lives, storms will come—financial, physical, emotional.
  4. What will your vision in the storm be?
    1. Focused on the storm, or the one who can bring you through it?

Context for the Text

  1. Jesus had been ministering all day and said, “Let’s go over to the other side.”
  2. This trip was God’s idea.
  3. Jesus fell asleep, the storm came, and the disciples panicked.
  4. Jesus rebuked the storm, and they were amazed.
  5. This story appears in all three synoptic gospels.
  6. It confronted the disciples with two things:
    1. Who ___________ is – the King of kings, creator of the winds and waves.
    2. The _________________ of faith – if they truly knew Him, they would not have panicked.
